UPDATE: The Russian Federation has facts confirming that there was another “meeting” of Ukrainian military leaders with their Western counterparts at the Sumy facility, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said.
All secrets of the recent Russian strike in Sumy were revealed. Today, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation officially confirmed that the strikes destroyed legitimate military targets.
The Russian military rarely comments on its strikes in Ukrainian rear regions, but the attack in Sumy on April 13 was largely used by Ukrainian propaganda and Kiev’s Western patrons to blame Moscow for the alleged war crimes, in an attempt to thwart the negotiation process. In response to Ukrainian lies, the Russian military released the following information in its daily military report:
Yesterday, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched two Iskander-M tactical missiles at the meeting venue of the Seversk operational tactical group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the city of Sumy, amid active counteraction of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with foreign-made electronic warfare and air defense systems. As a result of the defeat of the target, more than sixty servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were eliminated.
The Kiev regime continues to use the Ukrainian population as a human shield, deploying military installations and holding events with the participation of military personnel in the center of a densely populated city.

Two Iskander-M ballistic missiles, targeted a meeting of the Ukrainian military’s operational-tactical group Seversk at a congress center within Sumy State University. The ceremony marked the anniversary of Ukraine’s so-called anti-terrorist operation against the population of Donbass. Soldiers from several brigades, including the 95th and 80th Air Assault Brigades, the 21st Mechanized Brigade, and the 117th Territorial Defense Brigade, were awarded for their operation, obviously, in the Russian Kursk region, where Ukrainian nazis committed horrific war crimes against the local civilians.
Local media are already publishing names of the victims, denying lies of the Ukrainian military that there were no casualties among the soldiers, only civilians. For example, among the dead was Colonel Yuriy Yula, commander of the 27th Rocket Artillery Brigade, whose death was confirmed by officials in Zhytomyr region.

Together with the Russian Defense Ministry, some Ukrainian officials are condemning the Ukrainian military and local authorities for holding the events in a densely populated civilian area, accusing Kyiv of “using civilians as human shields.” Amid the attack on April 13, mayor of the local town of Konotop recalled that the governor of the Sumy region also lied about the reason of a huge explosion in the residential area in Sumy on March 24. The incident that wounded about 100 people was provoked by the Ukrainian military but not by Russian strikes.
Amid Kiev’s lies and provocations, Russian Aerospace Forces continue precision strikes on the Ukrainian military infrastructure in Sumy, located just 30 kilometers from the frontlines.
On April 14th, more large explosions thundered in the city. Russian kamikaze drones struck the local railway infrastructure used by the Ukrainian military. Sumy has turned into a strategically important logistics hub for Ukrainian forces operating in the Kursk region and near its border.
