Security forces have eliminated 8 terrorists and 3 vehicles in Egypt’s Western Desert, the army spokesman announced in a statement on February 2. The terrorist cell’s hideout containing weapons and ammunition was also destroyed.
According to Colonel Tamer Rifai, the operation was based on accurate intelligence information received by the army in cooperation with the national security sector. He added that the cell was planning to commit terrorist acts aiming to destabilize the country.
