Afghan security forces repelled a Taliban attack in Ghazni province and re-captured several villages from the Taliban in Jowzjan province.
According to the head of Ghazni Police Gen. Zaman, Afghanistan security forces repelled the Taliban attack on Deh Yak district east of Ghazni city. 8 soldiers died defending it.
Following the fall of Zana Khan district to the Taliban in August, Deh Yak district became a new frontline between the Taliban and government forces.
According to Afghan military officials, government forces liberated 15 villages in Aqcha and Khanqah districts in Jowzjan province in northern Afghanistan.
