Senior Kurdish Official: Deal With Damascus Is Inevitable, Kurdish Forces May Join Syrian Army

By: sdf-press.com

A deal between the Damascus government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) over northeastern Syria is “inevitable,” a senior commander in the Kurdish-dominated group said during an interview with the France-Press Agency (AFP) on January 5.

“Reaching a solution between the autonomous administration and the Syrian government is inevitable because our areas are part of Syria,” Redur Khalil told the AFP.

The Kurdish commander also revealed that negotiations between his group and Damascus to reach a final formulation for administering the northern city of Manbij are showing some “positive signs.” Kahlil said that if a solution was reached there, it could be applied to the SDF-held areas in the governorate of Deir Ezzor.

“We still have some differences with the central government, which need negotiations with international support,” Khalil said.

Kahlil added that Russia could be a guarantor of any agreement between the SDF and Damascus and he does not rule out the possibility of deploying the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) along the border with Turkey.

Last month, the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), which is the core of the SDF, announced its withdrawal from Manbij and called on the SAA to protect the city from Turkey’s threats. The army responded within few hours and deployed a large force in the outskirt of the strategic city.

At the end of the interview, Kahlil stressed that the SDF will not withdraw from the Kurdish areas in northeastern Syria. However, he said that group could be integrated into the SAA under a future agreement.

This new reaility in the relations between the SDF and the Damascus government is mostly a resul of Donald Trump’s surprise decision to withdraw troops from the war-torn country. Currently, Washington is trying to manipulate the decision in order to maintain military presence there. If this happens, the SDF will likely back away from any deal with the government as it had done before.

I have my doubts about that but here we come to discuss about what is happening not to say what this moron said about someones mother. Of course yours may enjoy it but that is another story all together. Now rub around that your single digit IQ . moron.

SDF forces will give Syrian land back or be put under it

Red Pilled ThoughtCrimes

Kurds were fighting on behalf of Syria for a long time before Russia became involved. They were promised some semi autonomous regions. If they have played it right, then they joined USA forces to keep USA in the dark, pretending to offer the USA a reasonable force to continue the fight.

It was very hard to see any reasonable conclusion why kurds threw their lot in with the USA.

Is he speaking on behalf of YPG or SDF?

Promitheas Apollonious

kurds always been the whores of zioamerican scum and never fight on behalf of syria or iraq, so get your facts right.

Red Pilled ThoughtCrimes

at one point they were fighting ISIS very very fiercely. helped keep Assad in power

Promitheas Apollonious

yes they was, but not for syria and not for what you saying and always been supported by the ones who created isis and supporting her until this day. and personally I have no soft spot as far as whores as the kurds are and have treason build in their dna.

Red Pilled ThoughtCrimes

exactly they were fighting ISIS. then around the time of the failed CIA coup in Turkey, kurds suddenly jumped on to the USA bandwagon and publicly declared it. YPG fighters were then shipped to the north of the euphrates for the most part and along the Turkish border (Afrin).

Kurds even said no to russian and syrian assistance during Operation Olive Branch and got slaughtered by Turkey.

It is far too murky with the kurdish issue to know fully what the score is. I think you can only trust Syria’s and Russia’s judgement on the future of ‘the kurdish people’.

not even sure tbh how many kurds are actually left alive. a lot have died fighting ISIS. If they can hand over the entire USA/SDF held territory to Syria without Russia and USA going toe to toe. And possibly stopping Turkey from entering into more Syrian territory. the result could be a tremendous victory in a very small amount of time north of the euphrates.

jm74

One can recall that ISIS handed over territory to the Kurds….and that is collusion not fighting them.

Red Pilled ThoughtCrimes

i would not be surprised . i know isis move around freely in SDF territory, i get the feeling most kurds are dead

jm74

Interesting that you say that especially since a large portion of the SDF is made up of foreigners.

Brother Ma

Who says?

Brother Ma

In fact much of ISIS is Kurdish .Not all Kurds are quasi -Marxist you know. Many are fuckwit takfiri Moslems from Turkey who love making trouble in Syria and love Erdogan. How do you think Erdogan wins elections? Most Kurds inTurkey are takfiris like Erdogan.

Feudalism Victory

They might as well be sneaky as greeks.

Promitheas Apollonious

been a jrk off is not the first time you can not hide it kid. Fu*k off.

Kurds were simply protecting themselves before Russia became involved, not ‘fighting on behalf of Syria’.

I’m sure the truckloads of weapons, training and air support were a good enough reason for the early Kurd milita (YPG and YPJ) to ‘throw their lot in’ with the USA. They couldn’t depend on Barzani’s Kurdish Mafia to save them, and Assad didn’t have the capacity to provide defense or arms for them. The original militias said nothing about autonomy or independence – they just wanted to kill the invading head-choppers.

Seems like a perfectly rational choice for the YPG when they’re about to be overrun by head-choppers despite the US scheme. The CIA/U.S. neocon plan for an independent Rojava, then a greater SDFistan came much later. That was the U.S. scheme/motivation implemented by the US funding and empowering the existing but weak PYD political party to rule the Syrian Kurds. You never really hear the voice of the average Syrian Kurd or old YPG/YPJ. All their media was and is controlled by U.S. interests, not theirs.

Red Pilled ThoughtCrimes

protecting themselves from ISIS which is a USA organisation. so as i said, it was a complete mystery at the time why they suddenly threw in their lot with USA.

I remember at the time thinking that it was because the USA promised them protection from Turkey in more than just syria, protection within Turkey as well. (Inside turkey erdogan was smashing up kurdish civilians with extreme brutality)

whereas Russia wouldnt be able to give kurds within Turkey protection from turkish military. (although Russia is more than capable of giving them full protection within Syria)

The kurdish situatin is too murky.

facts that are known are, A helluva lot of them have died, easily over 50% They chose to go under USA protection rather than Russian MSM reports most SDF are YPG kurds, and we all know there are just too many SDF soldiers for kurds to be in the majority I agree The YPG speaks on behalf of all kurds and the majority of kurds we do not even hear what they want. The Pashmerga disarmed all Syrian citizens of their small arms one week before ISIS rolled in at the start of the war

speculatively maybe they are just being led around by the nose by USA military and have never had any real opportunity themselves for a peaceful life. maybe they were always just a USA terrorist proxy army such as ISIS and al qaeda USA stabbed them in the back in the gulf war also if i remember correctly. And it seems to have happened so often, they are either very very stupid, or have very very little options or are a false ‘community’

Brother Ma

No one is That stupid. The leaders are just born spoilers and cutthroats. They banned all Christian worship in the areas they took over from ISIS. As for Barzani ,He reached an accommodation with Erdogan and is just a petromafiastate leader .

I supported Kurds making trouble for Erdogan inTurkey but I really want Iran,Syria and Iraq to decimate them and break their backs. They are just too untrustworthy. Fcuck them.

Tudor Miron

“Kurds were simply protecting themselves”. Can’t agree with this idea – look up my reply above.

Brother Ma

Well said. It is not the first time the Turds have betrayed Assad or Syria. How nice of this Kurd leader to remember that the areas “are part of Syria”. Pity he didn’t remember that when the Turds were going for a Kurdistan with Yank help. I would grovel back to Assad and pray he accepts them . If I was Assad there would be mass executions of them for Treason.

Barba_Papa

It’s not that surprising though. By 2015 almost all Kurdish areas had lost contact with the Syrian government, and were put under serious pressure by ISIS. There wasn’t much the SAA or Russia could do for the Kurds, but the US could. And after that, like a horny teenager trying to seduce a hot girl it began to whisper sweet nothings of Kurdish statehood to them.

I reckon the real mystery is not that the Kurds fell for the US hook line and sinker, but that they continue to believe America’s bullshit long after the dream of a Kurdish state became realistically impossible, especially after the fall of Afrin.

Brother Ma

I don’t think they are stupid at all. They just know they are cutthroats and unwanted by all for their many crimes throughout the ages. The Kurd is hated in the Middle East as was the Jew in Middle Europe. Kurds will go with whoever promises to arm them and not punish them for their treachery.

jorge

He was giving his opinion, that surely is not of his own, because the SDF is negociating with the syrian government.

Tudor Miron

From the very start of US/UK/Israel operation against Syrian state Kurds were designated ( a role of “legitimate” pro western force which was supposed to “fight isis” – official bad guys. In reality their role was to play their part in destruction and partitioning of Syria – inviting and hosting hostile (to Syria) forces on territories they grabbed. This is an old trick – you send “bad guys” and than come to “resque” from them.

Red Pilled ThoughtCrimes

As it looked like eventually Syria must surely fall, and with pressure from Turkey as ‘they love shooting them some kurds’ would undoubtedly have put pressure upon the kurds to guarantee their own survival, so yeah,. kurds were probably always in bed with the yanks. And would have been promised a piece with yanks assuring them isis will eventually be destroyed once they have done the job on Assad. Western MSM has always painted kurds in a good light for a reason.

again, i cannot say i am certain of what he kurds intentions/involvement was. more bad stories than good seem to appear.

Anastasis

Tramp is not a rational opponent or a trusted ally, so the Kurdish people have to ally with Assad and all together SAA ,YPG, SDF and PKK to fight the Turkish army and and their proxies to give an end to the civil war ,who was planned by Turkey ,NATO,USA,France,Britten and the EU. God help and bless the Kurdish fighters to eliminate the Turkish terrorists,i believe on Kurdish your capability.

You can call me Al

If the US withdraw, the Kurds will join the SAA, if the US do not withdraw, they will go back arse licking the Yankers and dump the SAA.

Are they insane, or just bloody stupid ?.

jorge

I doubt they will go back to the yankees, even if they stay more time (to do what, I wonder, to ask politely those who are coming to not show their flags near the yankee flag?!).

Jim Bim

insane and bloody stupid…..and traitors. Let the Turks finish them of.

No ! If that happens the Turks will stay in Syria. Saa has to push them into Turkey . Start bombing the Kurds to take back NE Euphrates Syria. Those that do not come over ,kill or push into Turkey. Case closed. What Erdogan does with them in Turkey does not concern us.

You can call me Al

Yes, that is one scenario which I am not against.

cliff

Finally some sence, this war need to end. There have been a lot of destruction and blood spills, its time for healing. The US has try it best to overcome Assad, all the play book was thrown in and one must accept it loose this round and retreat. Assad might have not been remove out of power but the US won at least one battle and that is Syria is destroy and they are far away from where they were before the conflicts.

verner

and all the while bolton, devious and treasonous bastard that he is, is trying to sabotage the withdrawal of the troops from syria, since he is the go to men when the mic/ds don’t like what they her from the white house. this time around it seems bolton got the short end of the stick but nevertheless is attempting to earn his keep from mic! a lot of stuff can happen that warrants that the us troops remain in syria – like a chemical gas attack.

©igare☘☘e?Sm⚽️k?ng?Man️?

I dont think there s going to be another chemical gas attack because simply nobody believes anymore that it is real. Also…now there’s S300 on the ground…

alejoeisabel

Bolton is the representative of the Israelis. Bolton has alerted the Jihadis to use their US/Israel chemical weapons. “Warnings” of chemical attacks are directed to the Jihadis.

alejandro casalegno

The Kurds and the SAA were allies, not all, but most of the time…..and now they have a common enemy, the Erdogan`s jihadists….Idlib and Afrin will be liberated.

John Whitehot

everybody that is not a zionist will eventually get together under the SAA.

Erdogan is good with that, guess who’s gonna go fuck themselves.

RichardD

What’s important is that the Syrian government coalition deployed forces into SDF areas without hostilities. Including no US airstrikes impeding it. The lack of US airstrikes supporting the SDF is a clear indication that the US back stop to SDF territorial gains or retention is being removed. This shows that the US withdrawal is proceeding in some important aspects, even if US bases aren’t being evacuated and US troops aren’t being withdrawn. It should also be placed in the context of continuing shipments of war materials to the Kurds.

The SAA advance around Manbij while a good sign. Is not a large territorial gain compared to what the SDF occupies. And efforts are being made to derail the US withdrawal. There is no guarantee that the US airstrikes won’t resume or that the Kurds won’t change their position if the US withdrawal falters. Though the Turkish military is putting pressure on the Kurds which is contributing to their capitulation.

Hopefully the Turks recognize that the secession project that Jewmerica is pushing is contrary to their national security interests. And they will keep the pressure on to help facilitate the US withdrawal. And will also contribute to a UN mandated regional force to clear the IDF and Israeli government out of the occupied territories once the Syrian war is won, in conjunction with a deescalation agreement with the US to prevent the US from intervening on Israel’s behalf.

jorge

Tuesday there will be meetings between yankees and Turks, lets see what will happen.

RichardD

We may be in for stagnation until the Russians and SADF get the IAF airstrike issue resolved. After the initial burst of activity, all of the “progress” has been talk, not action on the ground. It’s going on 2 weeks since the Christmas day attack. And there aren’t any reports of another. So that’s also a wait and see situation.

It’s understandable that the Russian’s don’t want their missiles falling into enemy territory if they contain tech that the enemy doesn’t have yet. And those may be what’s needed to defeat modern NATO fighters. So both sides have reasons for not wanting to continue IAF airstrikes. The Jews don’t want their planes shot down showing their vulnerability, and the Russians don’t want their technology recovered. That can be reverse engineered and used against them.

The Jews may be willing to sacrifice fighters and reveal their vulnerability in exchange for tech recovery. If the Jews continue attacks and the Russians don’t respond, it will damage Russia’s position. If the fighters can be taken down with known tech. The Russians have little reason for not doing that.

RichardD

From Russian at owned media:

“Bolton also stressed there was no set timetable for US withdrawal from Syria …

Although Trump vowed to bring US troops home as soon as possible, bitter disagreements between Washington and Ankara over the status of the Kurdish militias will likely bring the withdrawal to a halt.”

– US troop pullout from Syria conditional on Turkey’s security guarantees for Kurds – Bolton –

https://www.rt.com/news/448180-us-military-wont-leave-syria/

My view is that the waffling and back peddling on the withdrawal, which I suggested was in question after the last IAF airstrike. Is driven not by disagreements between the US and Turkey. But between Trump and Jews and their sycophants who don’t want the US to leave Syria. And that the Jews are making the case with their continuation of airstrikes against Syria. That Russia is overrated, and that there’s no reason to abandon the Syria project, because the Russian’s are all talk and no action who can’t defeat NATO fighters in combat.

And that the Yinon plan partition project should continue. Because if the IAF can continue airstrikes against Syria without interdiction, there’s no reason that the “77 nation coalition” can’t do the same. And that the Russians will back down in the face of US airstrikes, just like they are against IAF airstrikes. And that this is resulting in a lot of pressure on Trump to stop the withdrawal.

RichardD

“US National Security Adviser John Bolton stated that the US withdrawal from northern Syrian will occur when “ISIS is defeated and is not able to revive itself,” speaking during a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem on Sunday.

He also emphasised that the withdrawal would only take place once the US was sure the “defence of Israel and our other friends in the region is absolutely assured.””

– US to withdraw from Syria only when no risk remains to Israel’s security – Bolton –

https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/us-to-withdraw-from-syria-only-when-no-risk-remains-to-israels-security-bolton/

This is a further illustration that the withdrawal is on hold and that the Jews are putting on a full court press to get it stopped.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

it’s been inevitable since January when Trump first sent them to see Assad, he hasn’t given the Kurds a choice since then. “We still have some differences with the central government, which need negotiations with international support,” Khalil said”. Yes like arranging for the French to provide a no fly zone with some help from the US and the Germans. The Russians and the US can’t do it, they have to stay on Erdogan’s good side, but Macron doesn’t need to stay on Erdogan’s good side at all, he can poke Erdogan right in the eye and not have to worry about the repercussions, as a matter of fact, Macrons more than happy to poke a finger in Erdogan’s eye, he really wants to, he hates the man. Erdogan meddles in France’s domestic political affairs, and Macron doesn’t like that one bit, but then again Erdogan does the same to Germany and England too, and they don’t like that either, mmm, he doesn’t have too many friends in the EU does he, he sends them refugees from Syria, even though they all told him to stop back in June/July and also messes with their domestic political affairs, does anybody doubt the French aren’t jumping at the chance to enforce a no fly zone against Erdogan, just for the fun of it, I do. But seriously speaking, there would be political damage at home for Erdogan if the French did impose a no fly zone in Syria, even more damage if he broke it, and the threat of annihilation if he attacked a fellow NATO member would destroy him politically at home, the French are playing a game of chess with him right now, and getting in a little Nah nah we got you back you dickhead. Get out the paint and start repainting those US/SDF vehicles in SAA colours, not all of them though, leave the fastest and most mobile ones just the way they are, you can’t kill Turks when your driving a vehicle with SAA colours.

Kelli Hernandez

If the Kurds wind up back in US corner they will be effectively REMOVED by Syria and Russia. When are these fucking idiots going to realize that all they are to the US is cannon fodder and nothing more As far as Russia and Syria goes theyve been moving FAR too slow on everything, they have no time to bullshit and should have already taken back Idlib and the rest of Syrian territory. This deference by Putin to the Zionists IS A SERIOUS FUCKING MISTAKE

Brother Ma

I agree wholeheartedly. Erdogan has dawdled in Idlib ,only making his turco alphabets there stronger. I think it was a mistake .. too much of a concession to just stop a false flag chemical attack.
