On July 17, Lt. Col. Basil Hassan Mia, a senior security officer of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), was assassinated in southern Deir Ezzor by terrorists.
The officer’s pick-up truck was reportedly targeted with a rocket-propelled grenade as it was passing near the town of Mahkan in the outskirt of the city of al-Mayadeen. Lt. Col. Mia was killed. A number of his comrades were also killed or wounded in the attack.

According to Syrian sources, Lt. Col. Mia, from the area of Jableh in Lattakia, was a senior officer in the 4th Division’s Security Office. He was reportedly responsible for the al-Mayadin sector.

No group has claimed responsibility for the assassination, so far. However, several Syrian sources suggested that ISIS cells were behind the ambush. The terrorist group is known to be active in southern and western Deir Ezzor.
The SAA and its allies carry out operations against ISIS terrorists in southern and western Deir Ezzor on a regular basis. Yet, the terrorist group is still active in the region.
Somehow I get the impression that Trump is micromanaging these wars for Israel while the world burns. It wouldn’t surprise me if he orders ISIS hits.
