Servicemembers And Equipment Of Russian Anti-Mine Center Return From Syria (Video)

A video has appeared online showing servicemembers and equipment of the Russian Aerospace Forces’ International Anti-Mine Center (IAMC) returning from Syria.

On December 13, the Russian Defense Minstry said that a team of the IAMC returned to its home base in Nakhabino.

Army engineers took part in the mine-clearing operation in Syria’s Deir Ezzor. Major-General Konstantin Smeshko, a Deputy Chief of the Russian Corps of Engineers described the engineers’ activity in Deir ez-Zor as a “unique operation of humanitarian mine-clearing”.

Ten servicemen received state awards at the wecloming ceremony.

On December 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a forces withdrawal from Syria. However, a part of the Russian military group will remain in the country as well as its military installations in the country.
