On April 6, the al-Quds Brigade mourned seven of its fighters who were killed during a combing operation against ISIS cells in Syria’s central region.

The Palestinian armed group, which has been supporting Syrian government forces for around ten years, said that its fighters were killed in al-Amour mountain chain and al-Mara mount in the eastern countryside of Homs between April 3 and 4.

Despite sustaining some losses, al-Quds Brigade fighters were able to clear many areas and destroy several hideouts of ISIS cells.

The combing operation was launched to punish the terrorists for a series of recent attacks that claimed the lives of more than a hundred civilians. Most of the victims were hunting for truffles in the eastern Homs countryside and other parts of the central region.

“The Fedayeen [a term used to describe Palestinian fighters] are still insisting on pursuing the remnants of the criminal gangs in the Syrian desert and tamping and destroying their headquarters in retaliation for the civilian martyrs who were killed while collecting truffles,” the group said in a Facebook post on April 5.

ISIS didn’t claim responsibility for any of the recent attacks in central Syria, which its terrorists clearly carried out to loot and plunder.

The al-Quds Brigade operation, which is still ongoing as of April 6, is the first response to ISIS attacks in the central region. Syrian government forces, who have been amassing in the region, will likely launch larger operations in the near future with support from the Russian Aerospace Forces.
