Several Killed In Car Bomb Explosion In Afrin City (Video, Photos)

Support SouthFront

On April 18, a car bomb exploded in the Turkish-occupied town of Afrin in northeastern Syria. According to pro-Turkish sources, several people were killed and injured in the attack.

Pro-Turkish sources immediately blamed the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) and the Kurdish Peoples Protection Units (YPG) for the attack. Nonetheless, there is no evidence to confirm these claims. YPG- and PKK-affilated cells regularly conduct attacks on Turkish-led forces in the area, but they are aimed at military targets only. At the same time, it’s likely that attacks on civilian targets are being conducted by ISIS cells, which are also active in the area.
