On Thursday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and he National Defense Forces (NDF) recaptured the strategic Sarha Shmaliyah village in the northeastern Hama countryside from Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), according to the Hezbollah media wing in Syria.
On Wednesday, HTS was able to captured Sarha in a rapid attack. Syrian pro-government sources also claimed that the SAA advanced in the northern Hama countryside, and captured Qasr Ali village north of Rabdah village.
From its side, the HTS-linked news agency Iba’a reported that HTS fighters repelled an attack of the SAA on Balil hill in the northern Hama countryside.
Meanwhile in the southwestern Aleppo countryside, HTS repelled an attack of the SAA on the villages of al-Rashadiyah and Hijara, according to Iba’a. The HTS-linked news agency also reported that Syrian warplanes bombed several positions of HTS in al-Rashadiyah.
HTS appears to be unable to stop the SAA advance in the northern Hama countryside and southwestern Aleppo countryside. If the SAA launches a new attack from its positions north of Abu al-Duhur town in the southwestern Aleppo countryside, HTS may collapse in the entire area.
