Situation In Northwestern Hama Stabilized After Series Of Failed Attacks By Militants (Map Update)

Support SouthFront

The situation in Syria’s northwestern Hama became relatively stable after a series of failed attacks by militants on positions of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies during the past week. In turn, pro-government forces did not make any further gains north of Kafr Nabudah also.

According to local sources, a new upcoming phase of the SAA offensive in this part of the so-called de-ecalation zone should not be expected in the nearest future despite reports regarding the deployment of reinforcements in the area.

The future developments on this part of the frontline will likely depend on actions of militant groups that are now working to re-group and resupply its units that had suffered from recent clashes.

Breaking News almasda Turkish military beefs up forces near Syrian Army lines

BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:00 P.M.) – The Turkish military has increased its presence in the northwestern countryside of the Hama Governorate this week after a number of hostile exchanges with the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) at the end of June. According to opposition accounts, a large Turkish military convoy entered the Bab Al-Hawa crossing and made their way to the northwestern countryside of the Hama Governorate, where they took up positions at their observation post in the town of Sheir Magher.

Over the last ten days, the Syrian Arab Army has struck the Turkish military’s observation post at Sheir Magher on at least three occasions, killing one Turkish soldier and wounding three others. Turkey has responded to these attacks by shelling the Syrian Army’s checkpoints near Sheir Magher and summoning the Russian military attache. The Turkish authorities have demanded the Russian military control the Syrian Army and prevent them from shelling their observation post. During the last exchange, the Russian military quickly intervened and prevented further escalation.

Thanks for posting this from Al-Masdar here. Seems Southfront does not post this because it will paint Putin in an even more bad light because of his sell out of Syria to Erdogan. And this is not what SF gets their Rubles for. Question is: When will Assad have to draw the line? At this rate, SAA will loose even the last bit of morale before the end of the year. It seems, Putin would be happy with that and the Partition of Syria.

Syria Large number of foreign jihadists head to northwestern Hama from Turkish border:…

BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:10 P.M.) – Last week, a large number of foreign jihadists departed from the northeastern region of the Latakia Governorate to northwestern Hama. The foreign jihadists from the Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP), a terrorist group that controls a substantial part of western Idlib, reportedly redeployed many of their fighters from the Turkish border region in Latakia to the Al-Ghaab Plain in northwestern Hama.

Erdogan creates further welcoming condition for foreign forces and terrorists in Syria. Erdogan should stop terrorism in Syria but he himself doing terrorism in Syria.

gustavo

You dream if you think Erdogan even intend to stop terrorism in Syria. You must have clear that Turkey (NATO member) is one of the main supporter of terrorism in Syria, and it has been since the beginning of this war.

Syria Turkish-backed rebels kill several Syrian soldiers in northern Latakia

BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:00 P.M.) – The Turkish-backed National Liberation Front (NLF) carried out a new attack against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the northern countryside of the Latakia Governorate. According to a report from the Latakia Governorate, the National Liberation Front infiltrated the military’s lines near the hilltop of Tal Abu As’ad, resulting in heavy losses for the Syrian Arab Army and National Defense Forces (NDF).

The report said over ten Syrian Army and NDF soldiers were killed at Tal Abu As’ad before the Turkish-backed rebels withdrew from the area to friendly lines. Typically, it is the jihadists of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and the Turkestan Islamic Party that carry out these attacks in the Turkman and Al-Akrad mountains; however, several of their terrorists have been recently redeployed to the Hama front.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armenian_Genocide

The Armenian Genocide also known as the Armenian Holocaust, was the Ottoman government’s systematic extermination of 1.5 million Armenians, mostly citizens within the Ottoman Empire.

The starting date is conventionally held to be 24 April 1915, the day that Ottoman authorities rounded up, arrested, and deported from Constantinople (now Istanbul) to the region of Angora (Ankara), 235 to 270 Armenian intellectuals and community leaders, the majority of whom were eventually murdered.

The genocide was carried out during and after World War I and implemented in two phases—the wholesale killing of the able-bodied male population through massacre and subjection of army conscripts to forced labour, followed by the deportation of women, children, the elderly, and the infirm on death marches leading to the Syrian Desert.

Driven forward by military escorts, the deportees were deprived of food and water and subjected to periodic robbery, rape, and massacre.

Other ethnic groups were similarly targeted for extermination in the Assyrian genocide and the Greek genocide, and their treatment is considered by some historians to be part of the same genocidal policy.

Most Armenian diaspora communities around the world came into being as a direct result of the genocide.

Twenty-nine countries and forty-eight U.S. states have adopted resolutions acknowledging the Armenian Genocide as a bona fide historical event.

Pope Francis described it as the “First genocide of the XX century”, causing a diplomatic row with Turkey. The bishop of Rome defended his pronouncement by saying it was his duty to honour the memory of the innocent men, women and children who were “senselessly” murdered by Ottoman Turks 100 years before he became Pontiff.

He also called on all heads of state and international organizations to recognize “the truth of what transpired and oppose such crimes without ceding to ambiguity or compromise.”

In a resolution, the European Parliament commended the statement pronounced by the Pope and encouraged Turkey to recognise the genocide and so pave the way for a “genuine reconciliation between the Turkish and Armenian peoples”.

Now guess who doesnt recognise this genocide… The USA the UK and….Israel !!!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_genocide

The Greek genocide, including the Pontic genocide, was the systematic killing of the Christian Ottoman Greek population carried out in Anatolia during World War I and its aftermath (1914–1922) on the basis of their religion and ethnicity.

It was instigated by the government of the Ottoman Empire and the Turkish national movement against the indigenous Greek population of the Empire and it included massacres, forced deportations involving death marches, summary expulsions, arbitrary execution, and the destruction of Eastern Orthodox cultural, historical, and religious monuments.

According to various sources, several hundred thousand Ottoman Greeks died during this period.

Most of the refugees and survivors fled to Greece (adding over a quarter to the prior population of Greece). Some, especially those in Eastern provinces, took refuge in the neighbouring Russian Empire.

By late 1922 most of the Greeks of Asia Minor had either fled or had been killed.

Those remaining were transferred to Greece under the terms of the later 1923 population exchange between Greece and Turkey, which formalized the exodus and barred the return of the refugees.

Other ethnic groups were similarly attacked by the Ottoman Empire during this period, including Assyrians and Armenians, and some scholars and organizations have recognized these events as part of the same genocidal policy.

The Allies of World War I condemned the Ottoman government-sponsored massacres as crimes against humanity. More recently, the International Association of Genocide Scholars passed a resolution in 2007 recognising the Ottoman campaign against Christian minorities of the Empire, including the Greeks, as genocide.

Some other organisations have also passed resolutions recognising the Ottoman campaign against these Christian minorities, as genocide, as have the parliaments of Greece, Cyprus, Sweden, Armenia, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic.

In August 1946 the New York Times reported:

Genocide is no new phenomenon, nor has it been utterly ignored in the past. … The massacres of Greeks and Armenians by the Turks prompted diplomatic action without punishment. If Professor Lemkin has his way genocide will be established as an international crime..

In December 2007 the International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS) passed a resolution affirming that the 1914–23 campaign against Ottoman Greeks constituted genocide.

The Republic of Cyprus has also officially called the events “Greek Genocide in Pontus of Asia Minor”.

On 11 March 2010, Sweden’s Riksdag passed a motion recognising “as an act of genocide the killing of Armenians, Assyrians/Syriacs/Chaldeans and Pontic Greeks in 1915”.

On 14 May 2013, the government of New South Wales was submitted a genocide recognition motion by Fred Nile of the Christian Democratic Party, which was later passed making it the fourth political entity to recognise the genocide.

In March 2015, the National Assembly of Armenia unanimously adopted a resolution recognizing both the Greek and Assyrian genocides.

In April 2015, the States General of the Netherlands and the Austrian Parliament passed resolutions recognizing the Greek and Assyrian genocides.

fars News agency

TEHRAN (FNA)- France plans to increase its support for the moves made by Kurdish guerilla to disintegrate Syria after several Western and Arab countries intensified their backing for Kurdish militants, the Arabic-language media outlets said. The Arabic-language al-Watan newspaper reported that Syria’s Democratic Council affiliated to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) has held workshop in Paris on June 29-30 in line with increasing the provocative measures of France against Syria and in support of the Kurdish guerillas’ separatist goals. The daily pointed to the presence of the members of the Syrian Democratic Council, including Riyadh Darar who is head of the council, Head of the public relations of Syria’s self-ruled entity Jahad Omar and other representatives of independent currents in the workshop, and said that participants in the workshop discussed issues such as autonomy of the Kurds in Northern and Northeastern Syria. The Western and Arab states have recently augmented their support for Kurdish separatists in Eastern and Northeastern Syria, resulting in Kurish reluctance in talks with Damascus. In a relevant development last month, Western officials intensified attempts to speed up the moves underway by the Kurdish guerrilla to decompose Syria through increased visits and helps to the regions occupied by the SDF. The Arabic-language al-Watan newspaper reported that Australian Envoy John Phillip entered the town of Qamishli in line with attempts to support the Kurds’ separatist moves and held a meeting with Abdulkarim Omer, the head of the Foreign Relations Commission in the Jazeera region, and his deputy Abir Ilia. It also quoted the Kurdish sources as saying that a delegation of the Kurdish autonomous forces held a meeting with Special Envoy to Syria Geir Pedersen, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash, Norwegian Foreign Minister Marie Eriksen and US Envoy to anti-ISIL Coalition Brett McGurk in Oslo on June 18 and 19. Meantime, the Kurdish forces formed military councils in the three occupied towns of Ain al-Arab, Tal Abyadh and al-Tabaqah to strengthen their military structure in Eastern Euphrates region after a US-Saudi delegation visited Eastern Syria. Also, Mazloum Abdi, the SDF spokesman, claimed on Saturday that Damascus should recognize the local autonomous system, including the general department of the Northern and Eastern Syria, as well as the SDF and its full responsibility in the security and military issues in the autonomous regions. Media reports said earlier this month that American and Saudi diplomatic delegations held a meeting with the SDF commanders and a number of tribal leaders in a Washington-occupied base in Deir Ezzur in a bid to coordinate a plan for the separation of Eastern Euphrates from Syria. The Arabic-language Step news website affiliated to the militants reported that recently a meeting was held between the two sides in al-Omar oilfield region in Eastern Deir Ezzur. It added that Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Joel Rayburn, former US Ambassador to Bahrain William V. Roebuck and Thamer al-Sabhan participated in a meeting with Qassan al-Yousef and Leili al-Hassan, the co-chairs of Deir Ezzur civil administration, noting that the event was meant do coordination for supporting the SDF-occupied regions against any possible threat and political and economic support for the SDF in Northern and Northeastern Syria. According to the report, another meeting was also held between the Arab and US delegations and a number of tribal leaders of Deir Ezzur in al-Omar base to remove differences between the tribes and the SDF and discuss financial and logistical support for the Eastern Euphrates region. Meantime, the Arabic-language Xeber 24 news website reported that al-Sabhan conveyed a message from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on his full support for militants in Northeastern Syria. Syria affairs analysts are concerned about the US-Saudi plan to cut off Eastern Euphrates from the mainland, saying that the Saudi minister has paid some money to the tribal leaders to coax them into cooperation with the Kurdish militia and support for Riyadh’s influence in the region. The US has increased military support for the Kurds in Eastern Syria in recent months.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

I’d like to know which Arab nations have “augmented their support for Kurdish separatists in Eastern and Northeastern Syria”, I’ll bet not one of them has, this sounds like a propaganda piece to me, not anything factual at all, just confusing spin. It’s about as believable as someone saying the Iranians are now helping the Israelis.

Concrete Mike

Well last year the saudi foreign minister Al Jubeir went there with cash in hand. Look it up al jubeir in raqqah!

The SDF has saudi hands up their asses, so anything coming out of them is dubious at best!

Willing Conscience (The Truths

If the Saudis were offering to help rebuild Al Hasakah where the Kurds lived I’d be worried, but they’re not, they’re offering to rebuild Ar Raqqah where practically no Kurds live. It’s mostly Sunni Arabs living in Ar Raqqah and they’re mostly all pro Syrian government anyway, and the Turkmen who live in Ar Raqqah are an equal mix of pro Assad, pro Erdogan, and pro US. So if the Saudis do contribute to rebuilding Ar Raqqah it will mostly benefit the majority Arab population, you know the group of people who constantly denounce both the US and Erdogan, and also continuously offer allegiance to Assad. SF publishes every article about Arap protests against the US/Kurdish occupation. So if true the Saudis are going to help rebuild the areas under SDF control that still have the strongest support for the Syrian government, and also the highest anti US sentiment, that doesn’t sound bad at all, and doesn’t mean the Saudis are encouraging the Kurds to continue with their separatist agenda, it even suggests the opposite.

Concrete Mike

Interesting points, but i strongly feel that saudi arabia cannot be trusted.

To speak subjectively, i think saudis should shove their dirty money up their asses. There has to be strings attached there always is whem dealing with the banker’s minions!! So saudis can go to hell , id would rather not dealnwith the pigs at all!

Willing Conscience (The Truths

I strongly agree with you, the Saudi’s can’t be trusted, and I personally wouldn’t accept their money either, but I’m not homeless and desperate, but a lot of Arabs in Ar Raqqah are. But the Arabs may not be too grateful for any Saudi money or help they get anyway, afterall the Saudis were one of the main groups that caused them to lose their homes in the first place, they could even rightfully demand even more money as recompense from the Saudis.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

“According to local sources, a new upcoming phase of the SAA offensive in this part of the so-called de-ecalation zone should not be expected in the nearest future despite reports regarding the deployment of reinforcements in the area”.

How many times have I read this same statement from SF quoting local sources, and just about every time they do it’s proven wrong.
