On July 3, a militant of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) was killed and five others were wounded as a result of an attack in the northern Aleppo countryside by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The attack, which was carried out by fighters from the SDF’s Manbij Military Council, targeted a post of the SNA located near the village of Bsaljah to the northeast of the town of Manbij. Sources close to the SNA claimed that the attack was foiled.

According to the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, many of the militants who were wounded during the attack are in critical condition.

A day after the attack, a new round of clashes between Turkish forces and the SDF broke out on Manbij front. Human losses were reported.

The situation in northern Aleppo remains unstable. The conflict between Turkish forces and the SDF is only getting worse. In June, at least 11 Turkish-backed militants were killed by the SDF on Manbij front only.

Recent reports revealed that Turkish forces were preparing a ground offensive on Manbij. Such a move would further destabilize northern Aleppo.
