Slovakia To Hand Over MiG-29 Fighter Jets, Kub Air Defense Systems To Ukraine

The Slovak government has approved the delivery of its Soviet-made MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine, Prime Minister Eduard Heger announced on March 17.

Slovakia retired its nine MiG-29AS fighter jets and a single MiG-29UBS trainer last summer. The fighter jets were upgraded by Russia’s RAC MiG and Western firms in the past. They were equipped with navigation and communications systems from Rockwell Collins, an identification friend or foe system from BAE Systems, new glass cockpit features multi-function LC displays and digital processors and also fitted to be integrated with Western equipment.

However, now most of the fighter jets are not in operational condition. Those that are operational will be sent to Ukraine, while the rest will go for spare parts.

The Slovak decision came just a day after Poland announced that it will send its own MiG-29s to Ukraine. Both states are members of NATO and have been providing military support to the Kiev regime since the start of the Russian special military operation.

In addition to the MiG-29, Slovakia will also deliver some of its remaining Soviet-made Kub air defense systems to Ukraine. The outdated system has an engagement range of 22 kilometers and an altitude of seven kilometers.

“Today, the government decided and unanimously approved an international agreement (on the donation),” Heger said. “The process of handing over these fighter jets is closely coordinated with the Polish side, with Ukraine and, of course, with other allies.”

According to the PM, Slovakia will receive financial compensation from the European Union. It has also reached an agreement with the United States on deliveries of military equipment worth around $700 million.

Slovakia ordered 14 F-16V fighter jets from the United States in 2018 to replace its MiG-29s. The first planes are expected to arrive some time in 2024. In the meantime, the country’s airspace is being guarded by Polish and Czech fighter jets.

The MiG-29 set to be delivered by Poland and Slovakia will restore some of the capabilities of the Ukrainian Air Force. However, they will not likely have any real impact on the battlefield as the Russian Aerospace Forces maintain a large advantage in both quality and quantity.

It will further enrich the US Military Industrial Complex that threatens to cause WW3.

The US deep state is a gang of power crazy drug addicts that gets high on murder.

Issuing ‘warrants’ on RUSSIA’s leaders can have a reciprocal action.. the WEST has lost their ability to negotiate and rule.

Mark

It will cause NATO to break up.

MOVLAN

In Slovakia was neoliberal fascist coup staged by US embassy. American puppet president Caputova and ultraneoliberal fascist government in demission are starting war with Russia to avoid free parliamentary elections. Slovaks are calling fo help to fight occupation by US.

Slovaks should be able to take care of themselves first, not asking, again and again, for others to come to their rescue.

How? With a nuclear navy capable of delivering hypersonic missiles?

Why do you think they divided up Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia — so they could better defend themselves?

MOVLAN

With empty hands against brutal police and soldiers, will be short. Yes, we mess up, stupid part of nation, but smartest part need help to achieve common goals, both for Slovakia, Russia and other Slavic nations. If Russia wins againt NATO and some achievements against globalist, Slovakia will have even small chance to survive.

The Prime-Minister of Slovakia, Eduard Heger, is obviously a German by heritage. I, a German, have to state that. Send him home.

Maybe he is, may be not, but his ancestry is not important. What really matters is that he is a coward and traitor in service of zionists. As a person he is stupid, as a politician he is incompetent.

Mark

He is a competent servant if the US and that is what he was hired for

Target practice on migs, so much fun that now China wants to join in and try out their new weapons.

These must be the planes they parked in the weeds as a source of slare parts for the ones they alreadt sent.

roger

Pfffff! 40 year old junk. Won’t last ten minutes – if they get off the ground at all. And the same goes for the polish migs which it seems they want to send.
