On the night of August 19, Russian forces launched new wave of strikes on military and industrial facilities throughout Ukraine. A series of explosions thundered in the Kyiv, Odessa, Vinnytsia, Sumy and other wartorn regions.
The attack was reportedly launched by a group of Russian kamikaze UAVs. The Ukrainian military complained that Russian drones were circling over Ukrainian territory for hours, forcing Ukrainian air defense to launch strikes in Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Kiev, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Sumy and Donetsk regions.
At about midnight, Ukrainian military sources warned that Russian drones were heading towards the capital, circling around, revealing the positions of Ukrainian air defense systems. The Ukrainian military is suffering from the lack of ammunition, including for the western air defense systems. The prolonged flights of Russian UAVs force them to waste precious missiles.
The Air Force of Ukraine traditionally declared that all Russian drones were allegedly destroyed by tha almighty Ukrainian air defense forces. However, various local sources deny their lies.
According to preliminary reports, one of the Russian strikes destroyed a point of temporary accommodation of foreign mercenaries on the outskirts of Kyiv.
Another Russian strike reportedly destroyed a military warehouse on the outskirts of the city of Pavlograd in the Dneptopetrovsk region.
More Russian drones attacked targets in the Odessa and Vinnytsia regions.
