SOHR: Turkistan Terrorists Behind Northern Lattakia Chemical Attack Claims

TIP fighters in northern Lattakia.

Four terrorists of the al-Qaeda-affiliated Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP) were behind the claims of a “chemical attack” in northern Lattakia, which were adopted by the U.S., the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) revealed on May 23.

“The Syrian Observatory learned from a number of reliable sources that the source of information about the chlorine gas strike [in northern Lattakia] are members of the TIP,” the monitoring group said in its report.

According to the report, the terrorists suffered from suffocation when the SAA struck a cave they were hiding in. Three of them immediately recovered in a nearby hospital, while the fourth one was in a critical condition, because he was already suffering from his asthma.

HTS was the first to announce the attack through its news network, Iba’a, on May 19. Back then the terrorist group said that nobody was killed or injured in the supposed chemical attack.

The SOHR said that HTS reporters filmed the four injured TIP terrorists while they were recovering in the hospital and sent the video to the Turkish government and to civil organizations in Turkey.

Washington had adopted the claims of the TIP and HTS, accusing the SAA of “renewing its use of chemical weapons” and vowing a “quick and appropriate” response in a statement released on May 21.

As expected, France followed the footsteps of the U.S. saying that HTS and the TIP accusations “should be looked into.”

“We have noted with a degree of alarm these allegations, which need to be looked into,” France’s  foreign ministry said in an online press briefing on May 22.

Washington and Paris didn’t clarify if they are planning to cooperate with al-Qaeda-affiliated groups in Syria in order to investigate the alleged “chemical attack.” This step would be necessary as all the witnesses and victims are apparently foreign terrorists.

And why are we supposed to beleive anything al.nusra says?

theve been lying for 8 years, they aint changing now! Am I the only one that thinks” how odd every news places( that.should be competing) all say the exact same thing word for word.

And even stranger, that Jabhat al Toilet, and MSM agree and say the same thing for 8 years!!!”

And someone will tell me al nusra and usa arent one and the same.

d'Artagnan

US just rebrands its terrorists.

d'Artagnan

There should be a total war of annihilation against these terrorists. The SAA, Iranians and Hezbollah are more than capable of liberating all of Syria, but Russia needs to also fall in line and provide its most modern weapons and air defence systems as the US, Zionists and NATO are trying to bog Russia down in a costly endless conflict. Russia can change the power balance in a few hours by arming Iran.

dutchnational

Havent you heard that Hezbollah is withdrawing a large part of their fighters in Syria as they are, nearly, broke? Likely the same for other Iranian proxies?

Willing Conscience (The Truths

True they have cut salaries but that’s not the only reason, it’s also in part due to the Astana process and the new resolution 2254 that Iran has agreed to. Coincidently Turkey buys heaps of Iranian oil cheaply, so in a way Turkey is keeping Hezbollah’s wages higher than they would nave been otherwise, funny how things work out.

d'Artagnan

Really, is that latest memo from Kol Israhell?

Wolfgang Wolf

famous last words: “look, a fighter jet……” boooooom

Mustafa Mehmet

booom don’t work. you need a groud force to booom mybe

d'Artagnan

You are correct. There are 30,000-40,000 terrorists in the Idlib terrorist enclave, perhaps 10,000 hardcore, but as we seen previously these cowards don’t fight to the end. From a conventional force multiplier doctrine, the SAA, Iranians and Russians will need a ground force of around 60,000 to dislodge these terrorists after a major air offensive and perhaps a month of artillery and rocket fire to soften up the targets. The Turks have around 5,000 troops occupying northern Syria, and this is not enough to even stop an determined SAA offensive if backed by Russian airpower. Which is a big question mark at this stage? Another interesting observation is the lack of attack helicopter use by either SAA or Russia in this conflict. In previous conflicts the Syrian Gazelle performed very well armed with MILANS.

Mustafa Mehmet

Saa has stretch everywhere they don’t have enough power I don’t think Iran and the Russian will send in ground Force. very difficult saturation

Concrete Mike

Yes its difficult in the mountains.

Brother Ma

Obviously the Chinese Turkestanis have been given rockets ro drop helicopters?

Russia needs to torch all the Turco rats whether Chinese or not! Also rain fire and lead on these strutting Turco soldiers who believe they have conquered and annexed territory.

dutchnational

The area around Kabane is held by TIP, who have some 3k fighters in that area, holding the high ground, reasonably well equipped. It will not be easy for SAA to take and hold that town and position until Tip is defeated.

Dee

I cannot find any report from SOHR on this? Can someone let me have a link / reference to where they made the report please?

Willing Conscience (The Truths

No rebels in Syria means no chemical attacks at all. No rebels in Syria means no attacks against Russian airbases. No rebels in Syria means no more suffering for anyone in Syria. Why are there still rebels in Syria President Putin.
