A massive blast rocked the outskirts of the town of Ma’arrat Misrin in the northern countryside of Idlib in northern Syria on July 24, wounding or killing more than 100 people.
Syrian authorities remained silent on the causes of the blast, but the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that the explosion emitted from an ammunition depot of the Turkistan Islamic Party, a formation mainly made up of Chinese Uyghurs which dissolved itself and joined the ranks of the new Syrian military after the fall of the Assad regime.
The London-based monitoring group said that 12 people were killed and 107 others were wounded by the blast. However, the Syrian Health Ministry said that just six were killed and over 140 others were injured.
Videos posted to social networks showed a small fire prior to the blast, which later wiped out very much everything in its vicinity.
The blast near Ma’arrat Misrin was the most recent in a series of explosions that rocked multiple bases and ammunition depots of the Syrian military in recent months.
Just a day earlier, a very similar massive blast rocked the 64th Regiment Base close to the town of Shinshar in the southern countryside of Homs in central Syria.
Activists blamed the blasts in Ma’arrat Misrin and Shinshar on Israeli strikes. Some even noted that a similar blast rocked the 46th Regiment Base in the western countryside of Aleppo in the north of the country on July 8, also blaming it on Israel. Multiple main battle tanks were reportedly destroyed there, including at least one T-90 from the arsenal of the former military.
While there is no evidence indicating that the recent blasts were caused by Israeli strikes, what is unfolding in Syria is in line with Israel’s “war-between-the-wars” policy.
The Israeli term war-between-the-war refers to an inter-war campaign done through the Israeli military and the intelligence service to prevent the country’s enemies from developing capabilities that will enable them to violate Israel’s balance of deterrence through detecting and selectively destroying emerging threats to the country’s security.
Israel followed this policy towards the former Syrian military, targeting its capabilities overtly and covertly for over a decade until the regime of former President Bashar al-Assad collapsed.
Despite engaging in talks with Syria’s Islamist-led interim government, Israel remains extremely cautious towards it. This became clear earlier this month when Israel launched strikes on the Syrian military and security forces in defense of the Druze in the southern governorate of al-Suwayda. In fact, Israel went as far as targeting the presidential palace and ministry of defense in the capital, Damascus.
Interestingly, the last two blasts came following reports suggesting that Syria asked its key ally, Turkey, to provide military support, including armament and training, in the aftermath of the fighting in al-Suwaday.
Israel, which has already warned that it won’t accept an enlarged Turkish military presence in the country, will not likely allow this to happen.

syria is kaput. but they won’t get russia or iran and much less china.
“someone” yeah, nice wording. who are the agents of chaos and satanism?
satanists usually and it was reported years ago about 10, that the religion of satanism was the fastest growing on earth. satanists generally align with those who hate jesus because he’s jewish. they hate jews. they hate christmas they, i’ve watched them, they’re everywhere almost recoil in revulsion from carolers and anything christian like that their little faces look agonised, really.
are you on the autistic spectrum? do you have some level of asperger’s? he obviously didn’t mean the irrelevant self-proclaimed satanists — but the real satanic cabal: the judeo-masonic unholy alliance that runs most of the world.
i hope trump’s boyfriend is ok.
could israel actually defeat turkey in open conflict…doubtful.
they have also been very suspicious of egypt’s military build up. there are articles on jpost from a few months ago asking “why do they need such a conventional military build up?” i think a lot of regional players are wild cards and are biding their time as the us self implodes like the british and romans before them.
here’s an actual real clue to what’s happening phosphorous is the most important fertiliser and it’s locations, where its abundant are a key to seeing what’s going on behind their holy charade war front. egypts got tonnes
yes they could. israel controls the us and eu. the bulk of türkye’s most advanced weapons systems come from the military industrial complex. if israel decides to have the us/eu enforce a military embargo on türkye their military will soon become paralyzed. and those stupid turkeys now want to buy eurofighter typhoons. stupid ottomans will never ever be allowed to be part of the european union.
ottoman leftover. you must be hurt by them
israel does not control anywhere at all. its an a sud notion that defies even more than a fleeting thought to recognise that if they did control the us and the uk or anywhere then there’s no way iran would be threatening them they aren’t suicidal. irans militaries virtually nothing. facts not fantasies.
why the embargo, are good or bad the f-35s being sabotaged? sabotage can be carried out in the dark, or better yet, the f-35 is sabotaged before it arrives from the us? are jews employed at an aircraft factory?
shows how much you know israels one of the most powerful militaries on earth especially per square mile and per capita.
i don’t know if israel doesn’t also contain russia because there are a lot of khazars in it.
you mean most overrated, right?
less weapons for the inhuman terrorist savages is a slightly good news.
i agree with you
syria is very weak . now is chance for idf ! before turkey prevale in syria .
for what? to cut syria in half or to make the peshmerga handsome comandante the president of syria?
‘help, i’m an idiot who overthrew my own government and helped degrade its air defenses’
you believe nedia spin i ve known journalists, it understandable how they get overwhelmed by being spoon fed everyday a diet if it that they do become what they eat, but normal people don’t have to digest that diet. they have choices
how much can this new syrian government take from the zios before they start fighting back?
they will not fight back . they are are a zionist led dictatorship
and they will flee to lebanon, where the idiots from hezbollah will welcome them into their holes and huts, and they will kill them for a fee by hts.
yes that would be israel . this is just more deception and propaganda theatre to invade iran delivering pro invasion indoctrinations to the masses .
yes that’s anti semitic propagandas very well rehearsed often repeated almost recited really tirelessly, yet tediously, too.
out of anti-semitic propaganda, will the israelis set up a kurdish-druze government for their entertainment?
will they install a kurdish druze government out of malice? or will they do it for the security of their israel or just for their own entertainment?
what if israel fulfills plan e and mines the roads leading between south and north syria and carries out sabotage under cover of darkness like a gang of phantoms? then he cuts the jihadist nightmare in two and forces half of it into lebanon and the other half into turkey? if all the railway and road routes in syria are mined at once and hts flees to hebzlah , the stupid one like hezbollah will take them into his bunkers, and the crazy psychopaths like hts will kill hezbollah.
israel dictating to turkey what it can and cannot do in turkey national interests is quite funny.
