On October 11, a Soyuz rocket faced dalfunctions during the launch. The incident took place less than two minutes after the start.
The Soyuz MS-10 spacecraft atop the Soyuz FG rocket manned by a team of two cosmonauts was set to deliver a team to the International Space Station (ISS).
However, the crew was forced to make an emergency landing. The incident was caused an apparent malfunction of the booster some 119 seconds after liftoff.
“The crew has landed. All are alive,” Russian State Space Corporation Roscosmos chief Dmitry Rogozin wrote on Twitter.
“The search and rescue teams have reached the Soyuz spacecraft landing site and report that the two crew members are in good condition and are out of the capsule. Search and rescue teams are with the crew now,” the NASA wrote on Twitter.
You can see how violent the cabin inside the #Soyuz gets right at separation. Wow. Camera feed cuts right after. Hoping for a safe return. #NASA pic.twitter.com/uQUzYd2LmI

Expedition 57 was due to transport Roscosmos’ Aleksey Ovchinin and NASA’s Nick Hague to the ISS. The pair were due to deliver cargo and a Russian-made 3D bio-printer. The 3D bio-printer was set to be used to grow human organs and tissue in zero gravity.
“A state commission was formed by my decision to determine the cause of the Soyuz-FG carrier rocket accident. It has already begun work. Telemetry is being studied. Rescue services have been working from the first second of the accident. The Soyuz-MS spacecraft emergency rescue system worked properly. The crew was rescued,” Rogozin wrote on Twitter.
Accordign to repots in Russian media, a Roscosmos commission will carry out an inspection of the rocket space center where the rocket was produced.
The October 11-like incident is a sign of the existing personnel problems of the Russian hi tech industry, especially in the engineer staff and management.
Overnight on August 30, a drop in pressure due to an air leak was detected in Russia’s Soyuz MS-09 spacecraft docked with the ISS. The cause appeared to be a two-millimeter hole of the orbital compartment of the manned Soyuz MS-09 space vehicle. The cosmonauts had plugged the hole patching it up with several layers of epoxy resin and restored pressure aboard the space station.
Russia has set up a commission consisting of specialists from Roscosmos, the Energia Rocket and Space Corporation and the Central Research Institute of Machine-Building (TsNIImash) in order to investigate the incident.
Hmmm. Firstly drilled holes in Soyuz module and then booster failure. Probably time to enhance security. Especially considering Russia-Ukraine non-declared war ongoing. I can imagine somebody is motivated to sabotage Russian spaceships. Especially if paid by US three letters agencies to do so.
and especially with bibi going to moscow to beg not to disrupt their aggression on syria
One mistake. There is no Russia – Ukraine war. There is Russia – USA war being waged by ukrainian hands.
that hole made 1 russian worker.
more control is needed.
i cant imagine how much you’re suffering that the crew got out safely.
you are idiot. still.
at least i don’t illwish.
S**t happens. And people make mistakes (even Russians) and equipment fails (even Russian).
“The October 11-like incident is a sign of the existing personnel problems of the Russian hi tech industry, especially in the engineer staff and management.”
sf was quick in drawing conclusions.
I’ll be quick too.
mossad sabotage to give more leverage to bibi in his vist to moscow. killing a US astronaut inside a Russian spaceship is one of the wettest dreams of zionists.
it’s perfectly in line with the inferior minds that run certain games inside certain intel agencies.
There are many reasons why Russia built Vostochny cosmodrome and many to cease using Baikonur.
John ,why not use Baikonur? Too easy for zionatoyanquis to get in there and sabotage?
that’s what i was thinking when i wrote it.
although there are agreements in place between Kazkstn. and Rus. in regards to how the base is managed, the security measures that can be implemented in own national territory are without doubt more numerous and efficient that those in another country.
i dont want to sound trenchant or something, inquiries will be made and the reasons found – the good news is that the crew has been saved and that will no doubt be a major pain for all the illwishers and haters around.
Fair point
“The October 11-like incident is a sign of the existing personnel problems of the Russian hi tech industry, especially in the engineer staff and management.”
Oh, for crying out loud! A rocket is a big dangerous machine with a lot of “moving parts.” They are prone to failure on occasion. Why is the first blame put on “human error?”
but in ariane program in the laste 15 years there was no failure ;)
Do you know how long ago was the last Soyuz launch failure? ….. 1983 and the last manned one? in 1975…
So highly likely it was sabotage and not just a random failure or stupid technicians.
this year
Russia launches nearly twice as many payloads to space as Ariane. There have been eleven Russian launches this year, ten of them successful and five European launches with one of them considered a partial failure. In January an Ariane 5 failed to put two satellites into the contracted orbit and the satellite operators has to burn payload propellant for operations to correct the orbit. This reduces the operational lifetime of both units and a one hundred plus million Euros insurance payment resulted. Rocket launches carry with them statistical certainties of failures. Oh, and so does everything else.
Right. Rocket failures happen. It is not any kind of sign of problems with Russian tech workers. How many successful Soyuz launches have there been? A lot. The Bulava missile had it’s problems too. And yet a Russian submarine launched four of them in a single successful salvo last summer. The law of large numbers=statistics happen. And this writer likes to leap to conclusions before the failure point has been identified.
i am curious, who will be fired by putin? somehow too much mistaikes, failures, malfunctions in russian space technology in the last time,
while you jewnazis are bound to never lift off the earth until you’ll extinct.
probably the universe refuses to accept your presence outside the earth atmosphere.
3D bio-printer to make human organs???
