According to reports from the Roscosmos, Russia and China signed a memorandum on the creation of an international scientific lunar station.
“Dmitry Rogozin, Director General of the Roscosmos State Corporation, and the Head of the Chinese National Space Administration, Mr. Zhang Kejian, via videoconference on March 9, 2021, signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the Russian Federation on cooperation in the creation of a scientific lunar station “, – reported by Roskosmos.
This memorandum implies the creation of a joint data center for lunar and deep space exploration. According to statements from 2019, the project includes the deployment of a space monitoring system for studying deep space with the prospect of international cooperation for providing the asteroid safety. Russia and China could create a joint operation system for the commercial spread of the results of high-precision remote sensing of the Earth.
“The Chinese have grown a lot in recent years, we respect their results, and in principle they are a worthy partner for us,” said the head of Roscosmos.

Shortly before the signing of the memorandum, in January, Roscosmos announced the Russian withdrawal from the American lunar project Deep Space Gateway. Russia has decided to quit the program of a joint space station with the United States. The head of Roscosmos said that Russia could not participate in the project on American terms, as NASA’s lunar project was “an American project with limited participation of external partners.” Rogozin pointed out that the Russian side is not interested in this option, as from 2028, Moscow plans to start its own lunar program.
Russia and the United States agreed on the creation of a joint space station Deep Space Gateway in the Moon orbit in 2017. SpaceX, owned by Elon Musk, planned to launch modules into space in 2024 to assemble the first long-term circumlunar station. It was assumed that Russia would create 1-3 modules, as well as a unified docking mechanism for spacecraft that will fly to the station.
The fact that relations between Moscow and Washington in the space exploration are quite tense is evidenced by publications on Rogozin’s Twitter after the safe landing of the rover of NASA on Mars on February 18.

At the same time, the press secretary of the President of Russia, officially called the landing of the rover “the heritage of mankind,” Roscosmos congratulated NASA.

The Van Allen belt is not that powerful, and has been measured by satellites. The greater danger is a large solar flare pointed in the direction of the spacecraft after it has left the safety of the Earth’s magnetic field. Yes, there was a very slim chance of one of the Apollo missions being hit by a solar storm and the mission would not succeed. Water is a great radiation shield, I believe The Space Station has some built into the walls.
The most critical issue is the high energy particles hitting any craft on the moon surface, which has no magnetic field to divert these particles. (Earth magnetic field diverts these particles, which also results in the formation of the Van Allen belts, far above any sattelite in earth’s orbit). Any electronics must be shielded with high density shielding materials like lead or gold to be protected. If not enough shielding is applied a hit by these particles would destroy the electronics components and may destroy it. As most electronics would be mission critical such would endanger the msision, and with this any human payload. Looking at the high energy particles, also any human being on the moon would need such protection, as the risk of radiation and its effects on human DNA is high. The more if the sun is in an active sun spot cycle.

When I got to the area that I was reconning after the creature encounter. I got as far as I could with the rental suv that I was driving that night. And stopped at a damaged washed out section of road that would have required a high ground clearance 4×4 to get past. And got the folding electric bike out of the back. And did an eight mile round trip deeper into the forest.
About 3 miles further in the road was covered with snow in places. There was a bigfoot track line crossing the road through the section that was snow covered. I ran my first ET contact op of the year today in a remote forest wilderness. I made a couple of recon probes up to the snowline in my Toyota Prius to see if any areas suitable for interaction with ET visitors were accessible. They weren’t. Though with my Bronco ll some of the lower elevation ones probably are.
And then went for a hike and ran function, target laser, tactical light and fiber optic sight tests on my 9 mm and .40 S&W. And indentified some areas for improvement.
