The news agency TASS reports (source):
Russia’s T-14 tank based on the Armata platform will undergo state trials in the Defense Ministry’s scientific and research institutions next year, the ministry’s press service said on Monday.
“The T-14 tank, which has been created on the universal Armata platform and developed for the Ground Forces, is completing the manufacturer’s trials. The fighting vehicle in 2019 will start undergoing state trials in the Russian Defense Ministry’s scientific and research institutions,” the ministry said.
The T-14 is the world’s only post-war third-generation tank. Armata is Russia’s development, which has no counterparts in the world.
Earlier, Deputy Defense Minister Alexei Krivoruchko said the Defense Ministry had signed a contract with Uralvagonzavod for the delivery of 132 T-14 tanks and T-15 infantry fighting vehicles based on the Armata combat platform. The supplies are due to be completed by 2021.
The T-14 tank based on the Armata platform was shown to the public for the first time at the Victory Day parade on Red Square on May 9, 2015. The new combat vehicle features fully digitized equipment, an unmanned turret and an isolated armored capsule for the crew.
probably the best tank money can buy, but to expensive for export.
Do you think Leopard A7 and M1A2 are bargains? Russia produces the tank in rubbles, any export sales will most likely be done in a currency swap or barter. Consider the S400 sale to India …..paid in rubbles.
It is about 1/2 or 1/3 the price as the NATO versions, and certainly also better over-all tank. In fifteen-to-twenty years, maybe T14 Tank Corps will be needed for liberation of Ukraine.
May God speed their way.
More likely in 6-12 months for the liberation of Novorossiya and Malorossiya!
Realistically, ALL Ukraine but over longer timeframe.
С Наступающим! All Ukraine will be liberated and I think it will happen without major bloodshed.
Ukraine is under Washington control and Washington is losing.
The best tank Russia can produce, certainly. But boasting of a “fully digitized equipment” is quite suspicious as to what’s on the inside.
It is actually much cheaper than the less-capable M1 Abrams and Leopard 2 (thousands of which have been bought by dozens of countries). The problem is that T-14 is too advanced technologically. Russia will not open it easily to exportation without serious tests on the actual battlefield first.
More contracts for T14 and T15 to come in the near future as atate trials are completed. Russia needs an army tank corps equipped with the latest version of the T14 and T15 and T3 Terminator.
The T-90 is very good too and has proven its worth in Syria. Russian tanks, if operated by skilled crews are rugged, easy to maintain and have very good armor protection, especially the upgraded T-72 and the T-90. Russia has almost 10,000 tanks mothballed for any future conflict and can be upgraded on short order. Most have the Shtora 1 (Hunter) systems. The Iranian Karrar (Striker) also has a modern electronic countermeasures systems and was developed with Russian cooperation and matches the T-90 in capability. About 200 a year are being produced.

the T14 is 4th gen not 3rd gen.
don’t tell the americans.
they hate not being the ones defining “generations”
That terminology has been obsolete for decades.
Not really the M1 T80 Leopard 2 and Challanger 1 and 2 T90/A AMX56 are all 3rd gen MBT’s while the T90M Merkava 4 Type 10 and K2 are adv 3rd gen while the T14 is 4th gen the differance in technology between all of these tanks is very telling even the most Modern Leopard 2 variant the A7 dosent have some features present on all adv 3rd gen MBT’s let alone the T14
Dude, you have no way of knowing what’s on the inside of any of these tanks, period.
like i said its universaly considered that sertan tanks are a sertan generation.
Honest question: English a second language to you? Because some of your spellings…
“Universally considered?” Even if it were actually true it would be a major logical fallacy to aasert that I should accept your opinion because it is popular. Unless, of course, you have no counterargument and just want me to take your word as gospel truth. How controlling…….
1. No i am just to lazy to fix my spelling 2.No its a universal rule that tanks i.e main battle tanks are segmented into 4 generations 1st gen beeing tanks like the Centurion T54 T55 M47 ect 2nd gen beeing the T64 M60 cheaftan Leopard 1 AMX30 T72 and so on 3rd gen beeing the T80 M1 Leopard 2 Challanger and so on ofc their are sub categorys like adv 1st 2nd and 3rd gen MBT’s examples are the T62 a adv 1st gen MBT or M48 patton Type 96 for adv 2nd gen MBT T90M Merkava 4 K2 and Type 10 for adv 3rd gen MBT’s. The generation categorisation is based on the layout of the tank and the technology integrated in it both play a key role in this. Also tanks witch are considered adv x gen are usually tanks witch share a similar shaccy but have some changes done to the desingh a good example is the Merkava 4 and T90M witch are both based on the Merkava 3 and T90 but have some big differances.
You say that like you think you actually know what you’re talking about.
then proof me wrong
They need to produce these tanks “en masse”… Not in hundreds but in thousands!
They will never be able to afford that, it’s so much cheaper to cannibalize Soviet junk.
princeteutonic why
The T-90 and its Shtora 1 anti-projectile system have done very well in Syria and not one destroyed by Americunt ATGM supplied to headchoppers. The Armata would be top notch too. A T-90 operated by Hezbollah.

There are so few of them, there should be serious considerations as to whether they should be deployed in small numbers on all fronts, or be put in a single brigade and placed on a key front.
