Summing Up Results Of US-UK-France Strike On Syria: Statements, Facts And Speculations

THE CHAIN OF EVENTS:

1. Early on April 14, the US, the UK and France delivered a massive missile strike on Syria using warships, fighter jets and strategic bombers. US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis described the strikes as “harder” than the 2017 strikes on Shayrat military airfield. However, he added that no further launches had been planned for the moment.

“I’d like to address how this evening’s strike were qualitatively and quantitatively different than 2017. Last year we conducted a unilateral strike on a single site. The focus was on the aircraft associated with the Syrian chemical weapons attack in April of 2017.

This evening we conducted strikes with two allies on multiple sites that will result in a long-term degradation of Syria’s capability to research, develop and employ chemical and biological weapons. Important infrastructure was destroyed, which will result in a setback for the Syrian regime. They will lose years of research and development data, specialized equipment and expensive chemical weapons precursors.

The strike was not only a strong message to the regime that their actions were inexcusable, but it also inflicted maximum damage, without unnecessary risk to innocent civilians,” Mattis said during a press briefing.

US President Donald Trump publicly explained his decision to strike Syria in an adress to the nation. He blamed Russia and Iran for providing support to the Assad government, which according to Trump, had been behind of the alleged chemical attack in the town of Douma on April 7. However, no proofs or results of the investigation confirming these allegations were provided by the President.

The US-led bloc also ignored that the OPCW investigators arrived in Syria on April 12 to probe the Douma incident but did not visit the area yet. No invesigation was conducted.

2. Following the strike, the Syrian General Command announced that the US, the UK and France had launched 110 missiles on Syria, but most of them were intercepted by the Syrian Air Defense Forces (SADF). The Syrian military noticed that its airfields had suffered almost no damage as a result of the attack.

Separately, an officer of the SADF told SouthFront that the SADF and the Syrian Arab Air Force had lost no assets as a result of the strike. He added that the US-led bloc attack was almost fully repelled. MORE DETAILS

A video from the Mezzeh Military Airport:

3. The Russian Defense Ministry said that it had detected 103 cruise and air-to-surface missiles, 71 of which had been intercepted by the SADF. The Russian military provided the following list of the targets with additional details on the strikes:

  • Four missiles were launched at the area of the Damascus International Airport. All these missiles were intercepted.
  • 12 missiles were launched at the Al-Dumayr Military Airport. All these missiles were intercepted.
  • 18 missiles were launched  at the Baly Military Airport. All these missiles were intercepted.
  • 12 missiles were launched at the Shayarat Military Airport. All these missiles were intercepted.
  • 9 missiles were launched  at the Mezzeh Military Airport. Five of them were intercepted.
  • 16 missiles were launched at the Homs Military Airport. 13 of them were intercepted.
  • 30 missiles were launched at targets in the areas of Barzah and Jaramani. Seven missiles were intercepted.

According to the Russian Defense Minisry, the US and its allies fired cruise missiles, including seaborne Tomahawks and GBU-38 guided bombs from B-1B planes while F-15 and F-16 fighter jets launched air-to-surface missiles. The UK Air Force’s Tornado aircraft fired eight Scalp EG air-launched cruise missiles.

The Russian military added that Moscow will consider supplies of S-300 air defense systems to Syria and other countries in response to the US actions.

If the numbers provided by the Russias are precise, the April 14 attack was a decisive failure of US forces. MORE DETAILS

4. President Trump was less sceptical on results of the US-led missile strike on Syria. He believes it was “perfectly executed”.

5. The Pentagon held a press briefing to provide own version of the events. The Pentagon said that the US and its allies had launched 105 missiles at the alleged “chemical weapons” facilities of the Assad government.

The US-led bloc used the following means and launchers:

  • The USS Monterey CG61 fired 30 Tomahawk cruise missiles from the Red Sea.
  • The USS Laboon DDG58 launched 7 Tomahawk cruise missiles from the Red Sea.
  • The USS Higgins DDG76 launched 23 Tomahawk cruise missiles from the Persian Gulf.
  • The USS John Warner SSN785 launched 6 Tomahawk cruise missiles from the Mediterranean.
  • The French frigate LANGUEDOC launched 3 Storm Shadow/SCALP EG (French naval variant is called “Missile de Croisière Naval”) cruise missiles from the Mediterranean.
  • B-1B strategic bombers launched 19 AGM-158 JASSM [Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile] air-launched cruise missiles.
  • British Typhoon and Tornado fighter jets launched 8 Storm Shadow/SCALP EG air-launched cruise missiles.
  • French Rafel and Mirage launched 9 Storm Shadow/SCALP EG air-launched cruise missiles.

The targets of the attack, according to the Pentagon:

  • 76 missiles – “Barzah Research and Development Center”
  • 22 missiles – “Him Shinshar Chemical Weapons Storage Site”
  • 7 missiles – “Him Shinshar CW Bunker”

However, the US military once again refused to provide any evidence confirming its allegations over the April 7 Douma “chemical attack” or Assad’s “chemical weapons facilities”. The formal reason is that the evidence is related to “intelligence” issues.

The photos and videos below show the Barzah facility. According to the US, the place targeted by 76 missiles looks this way:

6. The US says that its forces had targeted Assad’s chemical weapons production and storage facilities. Syria and Russia deny that the Assad government had used chemical weapons in the so-called Douma incident and that the Syrian government is producing chemical weapons. The OPCW investigation has arrived in Syria and soon should start to probe the Douma incident.

7. Russia has called a meeting of the UN Security Council over the US-led strike on Syria. Russian Ambassador to the UN Vasily Nebenzia slammed the US and its allies over the strike by saying that the US and its allies had violated the norms and principles of international law. He also described the strikes on Syria as “an aggression against a sovereign state.”

A stance of the US and its allies is that they punished “dictator Assad” for the usage of chemical weapons in Douma. However, they cannot show a proof of the Syrian government’s responsibility because it’s secret.

8. Summing up the recent developments it should be noted that the Pentagon’s version of events reaises the main question: How 76 missiles delivered so little damage to “Barzah Research and Development Center” if all the missiles had reached their targets.

If the version provided by the Russians is true, the question is “How?”. SouthFront contacted some experts over the issue. According to them, the Russian military had possibly used its state-of-the-art electronic warfare (EW) systems to counter the launched missiles. They added that Russia and Iran may have provided the Syrian miltiary with vital intelligence to counter the attack.

If the data provided by the Russian Defense Ministry is confirmed, this will be the first time in the history when some side was able to repel a massive strike of the so-called modern high-precision weapons/missiles. So, in a case of a nuclear exchange between the US and Russia, the Russians will be able to intercept most of the US attacking means suffering a minor damage. Russia’s nuclear strike would be a crushing blow. MORE

According to another group of experts, the US-led massiave missile strike on Syria had an importnat background role. It was a kind of the US training ahead of a possible military action against Iran, actively promoted by the key American ally in the Middle East – Israel. This is why a part of the strike was delivered from the areas of the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf, which are relatively close to Iran.

In this case, if the Russian statement is confirmed, this will mean that the US and its allies are not capable to delvier a decisive missile strike to defeat Iran in low cost.

9. On April 12, SouthFront released a video analysing four main scenarios of the possible escalation in Syria. Roughly there were:

  1. A PR strike by the US-led bloc;
  2. A large strike by the US-led bloc without a Russian response;
  3. A large strike by the US with a Russian limited response and a further limited escalation;
  4. A full-scale military action by the US, a Russian response leading to a start of the regional or global war.

The April 14 situation is close to the Scenario 1. The scale of the US attack shows that Washington may have aimed at Scenario 2 or even Scenario 3. However, actions of the Syrian military assisted by Russia and Iran likely reduced signfiicantly the results of the US strike and it turned into a PR action.

The US, UK and France aggression against Syria was total failure.

Blucross

I believe the Deep State is Blackmailing Trump. Perhaps from what they gathered during the surprize raid on his Lawyers.

Promitheas Apollonious

Deep state……. the one he is part of it?

Starlight

77th brigade (google it) never wants you questioning why Putin has refused to provide the s-300 system to Syria. This widely known FACT was today reconfirmed in a direct briefing from Russia. Yes, Putin’s own people CONFIRMED Putin acts on orders from the West- and thus refused advanced weapon sales to the enemies of Israel.

Ewan

He does not act on orders from the West. S300 to Iran/Syria etc is a bargaining chip – one of the FEW Russia has.

Blucross

You believe Trump is Blackmailing Trump! Interesting world You live in!

Promitheas Apollonious

assuming what I believe, just making an ass of you kid.

As for trumpo is just an errand boy, they put there for lack of any other idiot and as a better choice from degenerated hillary that shit in her pants going senile.

Starlight

And who was blackmailing Putin to make him REFUSE to sell s-300 systems to Syria? Today the Kremlin admitted that under direct instructions from the West, advanced weapon sales to Syria (and other enemies of Israel) had been BANNED. They also said that as a result of what happened last night they MAY (yes- MAY) change their mind and allow Syria the crap out-of-date s-300 at last, while giving all the friends of Israel the s-400.

argo magma

The ban was obviosly negotiated to gain some other purpose. I doubt Russia obeyed an order or did that to please someone else.

TS

Syria is BROKE.. and was a failing state before the war. Syria will only get S300s under Russian control..

bonami

Remember what Bolton said to the scientist, Resign immediately; we know where your children live. And now Bolton is in the White House, think about it.

Rob

Iron is red hot just Mr. Putin should hammer it. This is the last opportunity with Syria and their allies and should use it. Russia should Kick out all Israel from Ukraine, Palestine, Al-Tanf, North and East Syria by using 1000kg smart bombs and Iskander missile as soon as possible.

Starlight

What- no statement from you on the FACT that Team Putin today confirmed they had REFUSED to sell the s-300 system to Syria on the direct instructions from Israel and the USA? Perhaps you’d like to explain this unfortunate FACT to the rest of us.

I know it is because Putin is a ZIONIST APPEASER – but certain people here (goolge 77th brigade) have been trying very hard to distract from this fact.

Yes Russia made a move yesterday- strong in the sense that it wiped out Mattis. Weak in the sense that it empowered Bolton. But Russia admitting it takes instructions direct from Washingtom and Tel Aviv and London as to whom it may sell weapons to is eye-opening.

Alpha&Omega

Seldom agree with your comments, but some parts of them are spot on and this is one such.

Rob

Without source is like shooting bird in the air without gun.

Trovak

It is so easy to get hung up in narratives. Germany made a terrible impact on Russia in WW2, no doubt. When you look upon the Russian leadership at that time (Stalin) I guess aggression were the best defence? Hitler started sending German jews to Palestine in ’34 already (with all their assets and means) because Hitler saw them as a enemy within. Just like US saw Asian people, and UK German people (imprisoned both) . No need to favour Knesset over Berlin.. Flatten it.

paul ( original )

Well that’s what I would do. But I think it is too much to hope for.

Rob

More US and UK air strikes are expected on liberation of Yarmouk, East Qalamoun, Homs and Deir Ezzor Pockets and the remaining Syrian land from Israel. Russia and Syria be prepared.

Joe

With this kind of efficiency, SAA should be able to liberate Syria from US in East of Euphrates as no planes will dare to fly when SAA activates their air defences.

Starlight

WOT!- it was RUSSIA that eliminated the missiles, not Syria.

And here’s a question for all of you. I’ve said over and over again that zionist appeaser Putin REFUSED to sell s-300 systems to Syria, while selling s-400 to all of the wahhabi terror alies (egypt, turkey, saudi arabia, etc), because that was what Washington and London wanted. The ‘one line’ zionist regulars here have attacked me over and over accusing me of spreading ‘disinfo’ (favorite zionist term).

Today the Kremlin CONFIRMED once again what I and others have been telling you- saying the s-300 had been BANNED for Syria cos Trump and May commanded Putin not to sell- but after last nite Putin MAY go against his zionist masters and offer the ancient s-300 to Syria (may- that was the word used- may).

Now, given everything that has happened to Russia with all the demonisation, explain to me again why Team Putin confirmed it had banned the sale of the s-300 to Syria on the direct instructions of Israel and the USA?

frankly

Your screeds seem to be increasingly strident, good the **** with that. The Israelis are PO’ed, the Patriots have ineffective against rock throwing children. They were hoping to avoid the blood splatter from pummeling them to death with their rifle butts. Get with your buds and tell em to chill.

Ewan

Iranian made S300’s are hybrid of early S300 and later S300 and can engage more targets than both. The Iranian S300’s are capable of detecting 5th Gen low signature aircraft like the F22, F35. No need for Assad or Lebanon to get S400 from Russia now.

MH370

if that true.. im sceptical they can even produce in sufficient numbers

hope springs eternal.

Yes i agree and do recollect the S 300’s were not given to Syria coz of the US. Day by day, Putin is failing to stand firm. Though i still hail him as perhaps the greatest statesman in a long long time, but now he needs to be firm. Donbass and Syria.

alejandro casalegno

Is not the same a Tomahawk missile than a Modern Fighter of the USAF or IAF…..

The good side, to attack Iran the zionist must send Aircrafts , a “Stand Off” attack will be a joke,

Starlight

How STRANGE- at the Kremlin briefing, Russian military staff STATED the US bombers entered the Syrian air space over Al-Tanf, the US military base in Syria. Yet our one line troll directly dribbles FALSE HOPE propaganda that contradicts this Russian statement.

The trolls always trust that you are too LAZY to do the research youself. That you won’t read that book, or listen to that debate or briefing.

“East of Euphrates” is where Putin allowed the massive NATO spearhead force to invade Syria. So US military assets had full access to airspace over that region of Syria, and launched many strikes from there (all of which the russians countered).

The truth can set us free. False hope based on lies can only imprison us.

You gotta admit the chart of the debt activity is scary!

Sadde

Just some statistics of the level of the force US and its Puppies used compared to previous wars they have waged on other countries. Let say that they used 100 Tomahawks missiles. It amounts approximately to:

Equivalent of the amount used in the entire Libya War 2011. ⅓ of what they used in entire Gulf War 1991. ⅛ of what they used in entire Iraq invasion 2003. Twice the amount used in the entire Afghanistan war 2001-

bonami

Very helpful numbers, thank you. They have 1000 missiles on the way with their naval group. As Mattis said this attack was a “one time only” it is probably a safe bet that their original intention was to attack again. They may be having second thoughts, I hope so.

Sadde

you are welcome

Rob

If today Syria had their own nuclear weapons and their own long range ICBMs then Syria would not become a shooting playground for US and UK like Palestine, Yemen, Iraq, Afghanistan etc where these bastards each day killing dozzens.

paul ( original )

May be true. But the Iranians who could have taken this advice have not. Just to clarify they have no nuclear weapons. Indeed they have disavowed such things.

Rob

Iran has some 60 nuclear warheads and many 70 Km to 5000 Km range cruise and ballistic missiles. Iran is safe.

paul ( original )

Well in these matters a person is completely dependant on things other people have said. I am fairly confident in some of what I have heard. So I think it is true that Ayatollah Khomeini issued a Fatwa forbidding such weapons. Also Garath Porter writes extensively on this topic and authored the book Manufactured Crisis, and is very adamant that an Iranian nuclear program never existed. Its a bit like Iraqi WMD they were a fiction. However, I am always cognisant that I may have bad or false information. I never commit to certainties when all I have is what others have told me.

Rob

Pakistan has started manufacturing Nuclear weapons since 1980 but Pakistan has showed to the world in 1998.

AJ

Not even Mossad or US intelligence are saying Iran has nukes. The whole point of the JCPOA deal was to monitor Irans nuclear activities. The new estimate says that the enrichment program could still provide Iran with enough raw material to produce a nuclear weapon sometime by the middle of next decade but that intelligence agencies “do not know whether it currently intends to develop nuclear weapons” at some future date. Sorry I dont buy it

Starlight

The SOHR sez “at least 65 missiles were shot down last nite”. SOHR = MI5/MI6. Now ask yourself why MI6 wants to trumpet Russia’s success.

Clue: Bolton vs Mattis. Last night Bolton finished off Mattis, the one anti-war figure Trump could not just simply sack.

Jesus

In your wet dreams, Bolton is a windbag Mattis is a military man who has enough sense regarding US military capabilities.

bonami

I think you have it backwards, because of this military disasterTrump just lost his chance to make a deal with Putin, lost his chance to make a deal with KIm, no one will buy US military tech because of this and he is still stuck in Syria, oh and he has lost his base.

Merijn

@realDonaldTrump Last night The Deep State put a gun to me head, and said that if I did not shoot those rockets. They would shoot me in the head…That is not Good, that is bad because my hair would be fucked up. I never wanted to be President.. but I owe these Khazarian Dudes a lot of Money for all the businesses I fucked up…Putin was me friend but I fucked up our friendship, because I Lied & betrayed & shit..the White Helmets gassed sum folks…white helmets is or was not an Assad organisation, we got no evidence but we are USA…we don’t need evidence…Bad, Bad People they gassed little Kids & Women and all that…the rockets hit shit…but we are USA…USa…Usa….usa “Where is our thank you America?”

frankly

You have somehow managed to give Trump an on and off newfy accent, I love it. “How’d yea like the fireworks me old cock?” The Newfoundlanders will not be pleased, they rarely are.

Ramon Candia

Now Syria has the perfect excuse to implement a no fly zone over the country. with this in place , the kurd won’t be able to do much and the Syrian force would be able to retake the eastern part of the euprhates.

frankly

More than that the US has left the door wide open for a pre-emptive assault on their sea based assets. At least the Russians would have several good reasons. The Russians warned of CW ops being planned by Terrorists/rebels and the US attacked anyway. Perhaps this is all some sort of pre arranged dance, but if justice were served the same folks who paid for the missiles would pay for rebuilding the targets. As for the secret, trust us its bad, nature of the evidence. Mostly top secret is a euphemism for my God this would be embarrassingly criminal to reveal. So let’s wait till some

Patrick Woolley

That would be a mistake. The moment Syria started shooting down American planes, the neocons would use it as a pretext to effect a regime change… and it would not take much to garner support Western support for it either.

Sadde

Compered to the initial attacks on other countries (Iraq, Libya …) it becomes obvious how toothless US and its Puppies have become.

NWOD

So, in a case of a nuclear exchange between the US and Russia, the Russians will be able to intercept most of the US attacking means suffering a minor damage. Russia’s nuclear strike would be a crushing blow.

Cruise missiles are by far the easiest target for ABMs.

Also in case of cities like Moscow or St. Petersburg, 1 missile getting through is all it takes to wipe out the cities, or large parts of them. And a MIRV ABM can deliver a dozen warheads.

Alpha&Omega

Best short analysis I seen so far: “The direct damage was some buildings in Damascus; the collateral damage was Trump’s political support base.”

Jesus

This event showed the lopsided NATO weapon inferiority in view of what the Russians, Iranians and Syrians could cobble up using old soviet equipment and state of the art EW, without firing a Russian missiles in anger.

Ideally, very effective EW is the best anitidote in deflecting hostile attacks, without escalating the conflict with tit for tat type of moves.

This event showed that Russian radar, coupled with effective EW and Syrian rockets from the Soviet era, was very effective against a coordinated attack by NATO using several platforms to deliver deliver their weapons. Had the Russians used their defensive and offensive missiles, the entire event would have been a total disaster for the NATO participants. This begs the question, if NATO’s conventional arsenal is so ineffective, how credible is their nuclear deterrent?

Sane minds within NATO should think this matter carefully, because from all appearances of western military ineffectiveness, and the new generation of Russian weapons being introduced, Russia can defeat NATO with relative ease.

According to one report the site researched and developed cancer medications and snake bite antidotes; both of which they can’t get elsewhere because of sanctions.

Marcos Edder

The U.S is a war criminal rogue nation. Fuck the UN they have no power, just a bunch of puppets is what they are.

Ivan Freely

The UN is not a government. It’s a place for political discussions to resolve conflicts between rational actors.

Watafak

Well, first we had announcements about 22 targets, then 8 yesterday, then finally only 3 now ?

It rather look like there was 8 targets in the strike, as there were official statements early this morning that airfields (from where chemical attacks were perpetrated they said).

Now official narrative is only those 3 targets !

This rather confirms the statement from RF defense ministry that the strikes on airfields were repelled successfully (with almost 100% success), and US side (and vassals) are rather embarrassed to show pictures and admit it, and can only share pictures from remaining hit targets.

And this also confirms that efficiency of air defenses can be rather high when needed.

Sun Tzu

You hit the nail in the head and I reach the same conclusion. There is even a map with the initial eight targets that included the air fields and the Command and Control Center for SAA. But I have search the internet and can’t find it now. However, there might be more than one explanation for this, for example:

1) Iranian and Russian EW as is suspected 2) the other targets were going to be hit in a 4th volley that was cancelled when a batch of Russian fighter jets took off from their air field after the third volley 3) the Pentagon rejected to strike the C&CC as it was too risky and might have resulted in Russian casualties

Watafak

Early on the morning, MSM info was close to this:

https://newselleven.com/2018/04/14/impact-of-strikes-on-syria-unlikely-to-differ-from-2017-syria-news/ or https://hoaxlie.com/donald-trump-is-planning-to-blitz-these-eight-targets-in-syria-as-us-says-it-has-proof-assad-ordered-nerve-agent-attack/

2/ But this would mean a rather big overkill. I rather suspect a 4th volley (or more) was planned (Mattis confirmed more than double missiles of last year show, actual count does not match), but indeed probably cancelled after RF jets took off

Sun Tzu

This could explain why the Pentagon’s press conference in the morning looked more like a funeral than a party

bonami

Or maybe as they saw they were hitting next to nothing they stopped to avoid further embarrassment.

Harry Kallahan

.

I just watched a few of these vids. One show a bunch of anti-aircraft missiles being fired, no hits on anything. Actually, one of them went about a mile and blew up in the city, on the ground. Another showed a extended view of a building in complete rubble. obviously the press was restricted from moving from that one spot. Which one of Putins anti-missile technologies are you folks talking about ?? All I see is rubble in Syria. If Tomahawks were shot down, there would be vids of the remains. But, none.

.

Watafak

Sure, there are videos of rubble, look for example:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rq0UKFtQJCY

That’s rubble caused to the target of 76 missiles….

And planes did not bomb, they just launched missiles from limits of systems range, and then evade, they would start bombing only once air defense systems are suppressed by missile strikes.

ALI

Aren’t 76 missiles too much for a single target?

Java Ape Timelord

Not for the USA. Trigger happy.

Stolen Iraqi, Syrian and Libyan oil paying for it

Yep, seen it happen many times.

Russia, China, Iran and the coalition of the willing, should mount a missile attack on the air fields, aircraft, chemical facilities that are poisoning the American people every day with the GEOENGINEERING PROGRAM, and also attack all those manufacturers of VACCINES that are poisoning the American population and children, also attack the CDC that approved the POISONING of the population, and attack the EPA BUILDINGS that are complicit in the CHEMTRAIL PROGRAM, also attack all the G5 MICROWAVE TOWERS that are causing CANCER AND MENTAL DISORDER IN THE POPULATION, and all the HAARP STATIONS CONTROLLING AND MANIPULATING THE WEATHER.

russ

Can anyone imagine the intel Russia got off of this attack. You know they tracked and assessed every missile fired. They now know the details and exact abilities of every one of them and 70% of them were countered with Vietnam era weapons… oooh we have them scared now, LOL.

Watafak

I would rather say almost 100% were countered where / when needed (priority military assets).

Remember the IDF strike : 8 missiles fired, 5 countered, 3 not countered due to EW under investigation. No doubt the investigation was quickly done….

If Syria did not know how many missiles were on the way, it is highly likely they needed to focus on defending high value assets in priority.

So, yes, Russia got many intel, possibly made some EW tests, without exposing their own capabilities too much.

And indeed achieving all that with (mostly, if we do not consider probable EW) Vietnam era weapons is a master Slap in US and Vassals face. Western MSM reports on that are actually incredibly funny by the hour, almost from “massive strikes to make Syrians pay hard for what he done” early in the morning, to “symbolic message to not escalate tensions with RF” ….

russ

Looking at the Russian sat map it seems we(US) were about 0-59 on critical sites. Did pretty good on abandoned buildings tho, about 50/50…

Lazy Gamer

It is invaluable and i suspect might translate to a decisive advantage in missile shield tech a few years later.

Ewan

Exactly – biggest winners are the Ruskies and Persians – they’ve just been through a priceless learning curve on saturation-type strikes with cruise missiles. In an attack on Iran, the US wouldn’t dare use Persian Gulf assets – they would become expensive fish houses. The US air and Naval force projection advantage is rapidly seeing its dying days.

russ

Good analysis. I enjoy the Russian fighter vs the F22 debate. In the battle scenario they would be in, a Piper Cub could beat the F22 when it is really the F22 vs whatever plane + the S400. With the S400 involved a hot air balloon could beat the F22.

Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

The video around research facility I notice something. The people are in close proximity to the buildings, and nobody needs any protective gear from chemicals! HMM, VERY INTERESTING !!

Again, its not you SF, at all, and reports are reports, I know about that, thats why I never complain, propaganda is everywhere so to trust and verify isnt easy.

I know this freak show is like all the other freak shows, from Iraq to the present, and this videos of uh…. CW factorys, bombed, is downright hillarious, looks more like an out door shit house and a barn was blown to smitherines to have something to show for, and is of course total bullshit. I even expected basicly most to be taken out as they where, but thats not the problem, the problem is Russia did NOTHING as in zero, and will just to give you an ex. be thrown out of UNSC and so on, just watch and what will Putin do then, uh…. judo, more chees. Trust Russia, selling weapons to the scums, drooling something about making an buck, while like eveyone else, looks awau in the same direction, yeah, how, grown up, right. Dont even talk about morale Russia, your Gov have non, but uses the same tricks as the UssA to hide the ugly truth.

Russia, lost this one, its all about phsycology, nothing much else, they dont care, have just confirmed that, and the MSM guarded their side, and now, they can justify it with even more acusations, and as said, they are locked and loaded for an new round, if an gas attack ocures again, and I know it will, not for some weeks, but it will come, and then what Russia. No matter what, Trump will do what He want, never forget that, and Russia did nothing. Iran is hit, even Al-scam-jazz is pimping Iranian armed drones scare in warp speed inducing the next stage, since UssA and Truks controls half of the country. And even refused to sel them mssiles, but had no second thought about selling it to the Saudi-barbarians, yeah, nice move, tells me all I need to know, Russia. Where is the f…. chees in this mess, Russia, you where bitch slapped, that is more accurat

You lost it from the beginning, never made it to the top of the events, because of cowardness. I dont blame the RF, but the politicals running the show, like Putin the Meek. I dont think I bother to do anything anymore, this, cowardness is an kick in the nuts, I know you where wrong, you will pay for it later Russia. Yeah, after all, its just bissenisse, right, nothing personal. Russia, go f…. your self. As for Trump, whom have shown the entire world that He is an lying sick f…. isnt an surprice, its just confirmed, and even in Norway He after all the shit, the rising shining star, yeah, slaughtered more Syrians, because other Syrians where dlaughtered, the logic is baffling insane, and yet, they won. And I know when the next one comes, there will be no more opposition, because we are been eradicated, and then the MSM have the field for them self. Lord have mercy upon us all, I dont think it would be an ww3, that, was just kicked down the road, yeah, can kicking seems to be the new Hit, in pretty much everything. And sooner or later Russia, you have to take an stand, when that happens, you will be alone, nobody trusts you anymore, that, is what I fear more than anything, that is what rings in my head this days, the downfal of Russia..

WE loost. WE will pay for that.

I would disagree on that for two reasons:

– When you play most card games, you always better use your lowest, yet superior card to win. It would be totally useless to waste your best assets if you have lower value ones that can do the job, hiding your best assets from adversaries knowledge. Same here, one big win is to have achieved so much, with so few. Not only this scared the “western partners”, but the big guns (S300/S400) have even not been fired once (so what they achieve if Vietnam era hardware can do what it did today…remains unknown)

– The fact that RF did nothing (except probably EW), is even more humiliating: Today we just seen 1 major power and two of its most powerful vassals being imposed an A2/AD by Syria (their planes shooting missiles from 500 Km)

Both of the above is a big bitch slap to the west, twice the same day.

Then, RF actions stayed within legal ground: no S300 sold yet (it was “forbidden” indeed), but now, providing advanced systems to a sovereign country agressed twice by thugs not respecting UN would be seen differently. Though it may seem worthless, it for sure is not. International community (the real, big one including Africa, Asia, South America…, not the one limited to long ago flushed western values) is seeing who the thugs, warmongers, bullies are. This, no doubt, will matter when time comes.

RF just needs to buy time, as time is its best ally, west is self destructing by the day. Consider Skripal case for example, and how some countries admitted having been pressured (and complied) to expell diplomats, some did not. See what is happening (with the Swiss lab…). You can bet on next “call for unity” from the same group of thugs less and less will follow.

So what we saw today was the best possible outcome:

RF gained more time before next escalation (more and more are of course yet to come) and avoided the fight, yet humilating the coalition militarily, and will probably humilate them again in the next few days in legal ground (through OCW investigation)

Russia needs to build up its arsenal, fully modernised I believe was predicted to be 2020. In addition Russia is modernising Syria, so there maybe a strain on their production lines.

Garry Compton

peace ? Yes, that’s what Russia wants. How could you be so foolish to bash Ru. after they just studied what the US and its puppets have done { which never hit Ru bases} and in the end the Russians decided not to escalate – but de escalate the situation. Russia does not have the same advantage in Syria as the western regime – they do in Ukraine – which then we will see that Ru has the advantage – when needed.

Java Ape Timelord

@hvaiallverden:disqus

You need to calm down.

All the intelligent pundits recommended that Russia, Syria, etc did not escalate.

Mr Putin said he would defend his resources in Syria, which they did and would target the sites from which the missiles came, which was not necessary at this point.

USA and circus stayed well clear of Russia targets, so the zone of the S400 was never impinged on, and therefore there was no need for retaliation.

Russian military jets were very active. Russian military were assisting Syria with the defence of Syria.

Just because they did not sink ships does not mean they were idle.

The risk was that sinking ships would cause an escalation and the total destruction of Syria and Russian forces and that would have escalated to world war 3.

Russia has just come out of a complete destruction of their economy, industry, military and social systems caused by the USA interference in Russia in the 1990s.

It was Mr Putin who initiated all of the measures to bring Russia from the brink of destruction. It took 17 years of hard work and suffering. The military is still being modernised, they are not ready to take on the USA and clowns.

The construction of military equipment is ongoing, most of which goes to the military and some is sold, which pays for the Russian modernisation.

Calling Russia and Russians cowards is disingenuous considering what they have been through the last 100 years, I think you should show a bit of respect.

The Russian-Iranian-Syrian-Hizbollah anti terror front is at a strength disadvantage to the NATO bullies, so attacks such as these are designed to sniff out airdefence capabilities. The less the alliance give away the better. Just like 2006 Lebanon war, Iran was slightly pissed at Nasrallah for the escalation after the kidnapping – it gave away a lot of the Iranian-Hizbollah strategic planning built up over the preceding years(and shocked the Israelis). One would want to keep the best for a full frontal US led terror attack.

RichardD

If the Russian version is true, it was an epic fail on the part of the NATO Jew 3:

“The US-led strike was aimed at the following targets:

Four missiles were launched at the area of the Damascus International Airport. All these missiles were intercepted. 12 missiles were launched at the Al-Dumayr Military Airport. All these missiles were intercepted. 18 missiles were launched at the Baly Military Airport. All these missiles were intercepted. 12 missiles were launched at the Shayarat Military Airport. All these missiles were intercepted. 9 missiles were launched at the Mezzeh Military Airport. Five of them were intercepted. 16 missiles were launched at the Homs Military Airport. 13 of them were intercepted. 30 missiles were launched at targets in the areas of Barzah and Jaramani. Seven missiles were intercepted.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the facilities in the areas of Barzah and Jaramani were partly destroyed. The military added that these facilities had been for a long time abandoned and had not been invovled in the production of chemical weapons in contrary to the claims of the US-led coalition.”

The research facilities that were reportedly hit and two of the targeted air bases were reportedly abandoned. Which means that they were undefended by dedicated air defense systems on site. And any missiles that were aimed at them that were taken down before reaching their targets. Were taken down by regional, not local systems.

Of the 77 missiles aimed at the Damascus airport and 5 occupied air bases, 68 were taken down, and the remaining 9 that got through did little or no damage. That’s an 88% fail rate. With the remaining 12% being ineffective. And that’s without any suppression of the launches or interdiction outside of Syrian airspace.

With the military power projection that Russia and Iran are capable of employing outside of Syrian airspace. A high percentage of the launched missiles could have interdicted before they even got to Syrian airspace, or have been prevented from being launched by destroying the launch platforms. And if the Jew 3 had escalated the attack, they would have begun to meet those types of counter measures.

The attempts to take down Syria’s air defense system, are meeting a much different response then similar attacks on Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya. Who had limited military power projection capability outside of their airspace. And limited or no outside tracking and targeting capability compared to Syria. Which is extensively integrated into the Russian system, and probably the Iranian one to to a lesser extent.
