2 separate explosions, possibly caused by missile attacks, hit an Iranian oil tanker operated by the National Iranian Tanker Company near the Saudi port city of Jeddah, Iran’s Press TV reported.
According to the state-run channel, the incident took place some 96 km from Jeddah early on October 10.
“A statement by NITC said the SABITI tanker was hit by two separate explosions at 5:00 and 5:20 am Friday, probably after being struck by missiles.
It said the crew members are currently safe and none of them has been harmed in the explosions. The tanker is currently in a stable condition, the statement added.
The NITC later dismissed the reports that the vessel has caught fire, according to the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum’s official news agency SHANA,” Press TV says.
The Iranian Students News Agency citing anonymous sources said that technical experts are currently investigating the cause of the explosion. They supposedly believe it was a “terrorist attack”.

Having major difficulty believing the House of Saud was behind this attack.
They’re still in a state of shock after the Houthis handed them their arse in a cap and struggling with their own oil production restoration projects to be risking more of the same. They’ve also issues with Qatar and UAE to be busy with so such a public statement of intent by attacking the tanker is questionable.
That only leaves the usual suspect famed for its unseen hand across the region

The spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abbas Mousavi said in a press conference that preliminary investigation by NITC shows that the ship was targeted twice withing half hours of the first attack. The source of attack was very close to the corridor in which the tanker was in. The ship is stable and no one is hurt but 2 tanks are raptured and oil is spilling in the sea. Naturally all the consequences of this attack, environmentally included on the perpetrators. There was several destructive acts towards Iranian crude tankers in the Red sea in the past months and we are assessing their relation.
Investigations are ongoing and further information will be provided.
False flag. The cowardly Saudis didn’t respond to the Iranian attack on their oil fields, so the Iranians fabricated an attack on their tanker.

Somebody is trying to start open war in the middle east. lol I am disappointed in the supposed lack of immediate recon or sueveillance in that waterway. In that 20minute time frame not a single satelite/drone/recon plane was pointed on the ship? Or is it the lack of it that is revealing? lol
now that trump is unwilling to engage more decidedly in the middle east I suppose the squatters are getting desperate and that they are prepared to do whatever it takes to make trump change his mind – apparently the ship was hit but it seems the result wasn’t as bad as it could have been. loaded going where? or in ballast going south? hard to say but for the future the bab al-mandab straight can become a chokepoint for the saudi vessels heading east after loading in the red sea. I doubt the Iranian vessel had discharged a cargo into the Sumed pipeline so it’s presence in the red sea would be a bit mysterious.
