SYRAK is a new and unique card-based strategy boardgame set during the most complex war in recent history of the Middle-East. Play as the Resistance Axis (Syria, Iran, Russia) or the Western Treaty Organization (USA, Israel and rebel groups) in local, solo or online games. Use powerful political, espionage and military Cards to outwit and overwhelm your opponent.
Will you be able to control Syria and Iraq ? Can you manage your influence and finance in order to deploy your most powerful units, send Hackers and Spies?
The game has been developed by a solo-developer, a former journalist who had been covering the war on Syria for 5 years.
As such, the game is full of secrets and historical facts about the war, the geopolitics of the region, the armed groups and the events of this conflict. You will be able to use cards such as “SANA Tv”, “Ka-52 Aligator helicopter” or “Lebanese Hezbollah Special Ops”. Each turn, players can also draw Event Cards which give players insight into the conflict (the Obama administration diplomacy failures, the Morek battle or the Jabal Akrad frontlines).
There is also a Codex, with more than 20 very long and informative entries – which are unlocked by the player the more he plays the game. These Codex Entries tells you about the creation on the Jabhat al Nusra, the Islamic State, the role of the western intelligence agencies in supporting the rebel groups, and many more lesser known facts!
Overall, the main purpose of the game is EDUCATIONAL, and it does NOT promote any political views or opinion. It is merely a game which lets you learn about a very complex modern conflict.
The game is now available on Steam (Early Access) : LINK
And also on Android mobile Phones on Google Play Store: LINK
Uh, is this an ad? Shouldn’t those be tagged as such?
Dear Friends, the author asked us to publish the information about the SYRAK game on SF. We liked his initiative and we are glad to support it. This is not a sponsored article. We believe that not money but ideas rule
This is not a board game, it is a computer game.
Hey – who the f*** plays these card-based computer games other than nerds living in their grandmothers’ basements??? OMG!
