Syria Conflict: Results Of Meeting Between Rouhani, Erdogan, Putin In Teheran

Click to see full-size image, by MEHR news agency

The presidents of Russia, Turkey and Iran met in the Iranian capital of Tehran on September 7 to discuss the issue of the northern Syrian governorate of Idlib, which is controlled by several radical groups, including the former branch of al-Qaeda in Syria, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).

During the meeting, Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that his country can’t accommodate any more refugees and proposed a truce in Idlib as a solution. However, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin rejected the proposal and noted that any truce will be pointless as it would not involve radical groups such as HTS and ISIS.

“I think in general the Turkish president is right. It would be good. But I can’t speak for them, and even more so can’t talk for terrorists from Jabhat al-Nusra [HTS] or ISIS that they will stop shooting or stop using drones with bombs,” President Putin said according to the Reuters news agency.

Despite failing to reach an agreement on Idlib issue, the three leaders stressed in the final statement of the summit that separating moderate opposition fighters from terrorists and protecting civilians are essential steps for stabilizing the northern Syrian governorate.

“Separating the aforementioned terrorist organizations from the armed opposition factions that have joined or will join the system of cessation of fighting will be of vital importance in order to avoid casualties among the civilians,” the leaders said in the final stamen of the summit.

Russia, Turkey and Iran also rejected any attempts to divide Syria under the pretext of fighting terrorism and vowed to support the U.N. sponsored peace process in the country.

“We are determined to continue active cooperation to advance the political process in line with the decisions of the Syrian National Dialogue Conference in Sochi and Security Council Resolution 2254,” the statement reads.

The inability of the sides to agree on a final solution of the Idlib issue may lead to an escalation in northwestern Syria. Some sources expect that the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies may even launch a military operation against  terrorist groups in the region despite an open opposition of Turkey.

Summary of the summit;

Erdoğan: We would be happy if there was a ceasefire between the opposition and Esad regime. People in Idlib can not be left to the mercy of the regime.

Putin: Armed opposition or terrorists are not present here. We can’t take decisions on their behalf.

Basically Putin said “go fuck yourself we will annihilate every single terrorist in Idlib” in a political and kind way.

You can call me Al

Well, that sums it up rather well.

FlorianGeyer

Turkey does have a route for the terrorist refugees. Load them in ‘Green’ landing craft and dump them on the Greek beaches with their personal weapons :)

Carne João Pasta

What do you have against the Greeks? What is their role in the turmoil in the MENA?? Why not drop them off at the shores of England? (I’m Greek on my mom’s side.)

FlorianGeyer

The Greek government has sold their souls ( and women) to the US forces now.

Carne João Pasta

Ah, maybe some good ol regime change might get their head straight.

FlorianGeyer

I hope so.

Icarus Tanović

Yeah, England would be so so so appropriate.

Britam

Hell. Put them on 72 Virgin flights to America where they can fight the “Great Satan” toe to toe.

MH370

i heard they love to live in europe and fucking white pale chicks and i think european dont have a problem to accomodate them.. they even accepting african.

FlorianGeyer

Africans seem to like fat women MH370. There are rather a lot of obese young women in old Europe these days.

Carne João Pasta

Nice! Did you mean to say, ‘in a polite and kind way’

Skagos

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Language_politics | What he did there is called language politics. Putin is the master of language politics :)

Lazy Gamer

More like:

Erdogan – ceasefire please.

Putin – We don’t negotiate with terrorists. Any truce with “moderates” is useless when we cannot distinguish/separate them.

d'Artagnan

Russia and Iran are united in wiping out terrorism. The headchoppers are done.

Jason Sixx

Wtf was the point of this??? Nothing new, when is this offensive launching next century?

You can call me Al

Tomorrow , actually probably Sunday, chill out

FlorianGeyer

Only fools ( Americans) rush in where others fear to tread. How long has the US been playing soldiers in Afghanistan ? 17 years :)

Tommy Jensen

9000t heroine was/is worth it.

FlorianGeyer

Don’t forget the subsequent profits made at the US tax payers expense from the US Prison Industrial Complex as well Tommy :)

Tommy Jensen

I know. Everything is a profit model, a profit logaritm invented in Wall Street´s Think Tanks/Finance.

But…. as this is done by Psy-ops, the code to break it is also psychological. By knowing it, two things happen mentally: 1. You stop supporting it, stop hurting yourself. 2. You now have the pants on, you can decide on how to get around it.

FlorianGeyer

I agree Tommy. If a large enough group who understand this just spend say, 20% less on items that their governments make large tax revenues from, fuel, drink, cars , phones, etc, the governments would be pushed into taxing staple items more heavily. This would create dissent amongst the sheeple with all the historical consequence’s of that.

This is what the US is doing to the nations they wish destroy. What goes round, comes round. :)

gustavo

The offensive is waiting for Russia green light since the arespace force is essential for Syria victoru. Russia aerospace force strong support and protection is the key for the vistory, as usual.

Rob

There is chaos in Idlib created by US and UK. To end that chaos it is necessary to bring Idlib under law and order of Damascus. There is no excuse or this will be a big mistake to allow Idlib to Al-Qaeda or to ISIS etc.

You can call me Al

Dont forget the hooked noses that instigated all of this; or the Saudi family that sold their little evil soul and seconded it.

peacelover

Really well said!

Tommy Jensen

Dont Erdogan have trouble enough inside Turkey, than making adventures in Iraq and Syria. Close the door Erdo and make friends with your neighbours, and beautiful Turkey will prosper. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nj5eeHac960

Ivan Freely

Sorry but the original Deep Purple version is still the best.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_Iq9CWuqMM

Tommy Jensen

Agree. Deep Purple was unique, still is.

peacelover

Excellent suggestion !

Manuel Flores Escobar

Erdogan just want to save his face in this conflict…he knows that in Idlib Al Qaeda is more than 60% of the terrorist inside there!…for other side Turkey will become an important hub of Russian/ Azerbajan gas to EU…Gulf states( US Petrodollar Deep State) have failed to build gas pipelines and now Turkstream and TNP are the suppliers!…

RichardD

There are an estimated 70,000 armed Jew world order regime terrorists in Idlib from the estimates that I’ve seen. Turkey doesn’t want to take them, as I predicted, and now it’s official. Turkey also has the province encircled with redoubts serving as observation bases that can be transformed to conflict management bases, remain as observation bases, transformed to staging areas for moving troops and armor south as part of a Palestine protection force, or disbanded and returned to Turkey after the province is cleared and the threat to Turkey from the quarantined terrorists is mitigated.

Right now, Turkey has a serious problem on it’s border with Idlib. They don’t need to get involved in clearing the area, all that they have to do is make sure that they don’t get pushed up to and over their southern border into Turkey. It’s a much larger and more serious problem, partially of their own making, than either Jordan or “Israel” faced when the border areas were cleared there. As long as the Turks are left alone during the clearing operations, and terrorists aren’t pushed over their borders. They probably won’t intervene on the terrorists behalf during clearing operations.

What happens with the “moderate opposition” is open to debate. Whether the Turks would intervene militarily on their behalf during clearing operations when no terrorists are being pushed over the Turkish border is questionable. Assuming that the clearing of the terrorists and reconciliation of the rest of the regime change elements completes successfully. Then there is the rest of NE Syria to reclaim, and the Turks can play a useful role in that also. Especially if they obtain and or allow the stationing of advance air defense systems in SE Turkey as part of a no fly zone over NE Syria for use in returning NE Syria to Syrian government administration.

I’m in favor of including the Turkish military and security services as part of a nuclear weapons armed coalition for clearing the IDF and Israeli government out of the occupied territories.

RichardD

Turkish armor:

gustavo

Wrong, Turkey is a terrorists supporter and protector, that is why Turkey is in Syria.

RichardD

Clearing the YPG and SDF out of Afrin had nothing to do with supporting regime change in Stria, it’s a matter of self preservation for the Turks, especially after the coup. They’re in Idlib because there are 70,000 terrorists from all over Syria contained there that are also a threat to Turkey.

peacelover

No dear. How many of those 70000 were not launched from the route offered by Turkey to Syria? How many of them don’t use Turkish communication devices and logistics?

RichardD

So what’s your point?

peacelover

Most of those terrorists came into Syria from Turkey and by the direct support of Turkey. Turkey was in coordination with Arab monarchies at that time but not now. So heavily responsible for all the Syrian bloodshed. Turkish intelligence still cooperating with those terrorists as whole world knows.

RichardD

They’ve set up a kill box with the Syrian government coalition where the terrorists are being slaughtered every day.

peacelover

Turkey must understand that its prosperity depends upon peaceful attitudes towards its neighbouring countries. It should change its behavior and not to involve in destabilizing its sister countries.

RichardD

What does that have to do with keeping 70,000 terrorists in Idlib out of Syria and preventing Kurdish Israelistan from threatening the Balkanization of the region. Which is the comment that you replied to.

peacelover

U r right. I agree that the resistance axes should welcome turks despite of their dirty role in Syria since the beginning of the conflict. But really it is very hard to forget the huge quantity of innocent Syrian blood on the hands of Turks. Anyhow looking forward is good option. Hoping really friendly intentions of turks. And let me tell u that if Turkey was not afraid of Kurds internally then it surely would have supported the Kurds against Syria.

peacelover

Anyway Turkey must be welcomed by the resistance axes in its new face new stance. Slightly better than before. Hope to change its intention little bit.Hands of turks are read with huge quantity of innocent blood of humans in Syria. They have been playing that bloody dirty game since 2013. May I tell u Richard that Turkey might would have supported the Kurds against Syrian government also if it had not any internal threats from the Kurds.

peacelover

Turks are demolishing the creation of Kurdistan(israelistan) in Syria not because it is bad for humanity bad for peace bad for its neighbours or bad for Muslims, they are demolishing its bases only because Kurdistan in Syria is against its internal stability interests.

Feudalism Victory

Turkey isnt going to attack israel. Its a figment of your wishes.

RichardD

Turkey co sponsored the UN Palestine Protection Force Resolution overriding the US veto:

“Feridun Hadi Sinirlioğlu (Turkey) said his delegation had requested today’s emergency meeting following the Security Council’s failure to adopt a resolution that called for the protection of Palestinian civilians. The draft before the General Assembly — co-tabled by Turkey in its capacity as Chair of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation — was a call to all Member States to look for peaceful means to deter and prevent attacks on civilians. “This draft resolution is not about taking sides,” he said, but rather supporting de-escalation on the ground, deterring violence and calling on the Secretary-General to recommend ways to protect civilians and end the loss of life.”

If the Jews attack Turkish forces and Turkey, I think that you’l find that Turkey will attack the IDF and Israel. Who the Jews are planning to nuke first is unknown, but Turkey is probably on the list.

Feudalism Victory

I have to disagree. Israels nukes are a deterrent to being overrun. I cant see them rationally nuking anyone preemptively or attacking turkey. They were looking forward to annexing parts of syria but they seem to be giving up on it.

RichardD

If Israel attacks and invades outside Israeli territory from Israeli territory, as they have done over and over again, and gets counter attacked and invaded in response, as has happened over and over again. Like when they almost reportedly used nukes in 73. Then who they’re planning to nuke first is a salient question.

gustavo

There meaning of “Turkey doesn’t want to take them” is clear: Turkey support and protect terrorists in Idlib.

RichardD

The meaning of Turkey doesn’t want to take them is that they’re a threat to Turkey and they don’t want them in Turkey.

Sephy

There is no political solution syria.

peacelover

In the presence of Nikki Haley and Bolton u think no chance for peace at all.

Sephy

They are just puppets. Assign their posts to someone else and you will see they will also speak the same.

peacelover

u mean puppets of deep state,American military establishment?

gustavo

Exactly, the only solution is the military solution, and Russia-Syria must go after the total victory.

SnowCatzor

Now that these frankly pointless formalities are out of the way, we all know what needs to be done. Idlib needs to be liberated.

gustavo

Idlib is just the start. Russi-Syria-Hezbolah-Iran must liberate Afrin,Azaz, Al.rai, Jarabus, y Manbij. After that comes something more difficult…Al-Tanaf and the whole north-east of Euphrates river (Kurds-USA-puppets).

Icarus Tanović

These Turks are really pieces of shit work. Fucking gypsy nation.

Feudalism Victory

Lol. They should try not trying to conquer and rule and bully everyone around them.

peacelover

Turkey is somehow right in its stance because the turks had been feeding the terror chicken for many years. And you can guess that how difficult it is to agree with Iran and Russia to eliminate those bloody terrorists.

gustavo

Turkey is a genocide country (Armenian) and is an invader country in Syria. Turkey is not a trustworthy country at all.

Icarus Tanović

Thanks.

gustavo

If Russia really wants an undiveded Syria, why has not Turkey go back home and return the conquered area to Syria owner ? Yes, I know, Erdogan says that they are there because of terrorists (PKK). However, also USA-NATO are there for terrorists Daesh-ISIS. I do not see any difference, do you ? Turkey is a liar government untrusted people, and in fact traitor (shoting down a Russia plane). Turkey is protecting terrorists (in agreement with USA), and its opinion is a zero to the left hand side.

peacelover

But it is more important to move Turkey away from FUKUS strategically. The resistance alliance is in need to grab Turkey from NATO.

gustavo

That is a Erdogan liar. He is just pretending to be in not agreement with USA-NATO….just pretending. TurkStream, S-400, and Nuclear Plant have the finality of neutralize Russia in the middle east. It is impossible to trust Turkey !!!!!

d'Artagnan

Time to wipe out all terrorists in Syria and end the US illegal occupation.

John Brown

Turkey is just trying to save face. Now that Israel has overthrown the government of Armenia Russia can allow Azerbaijan and Turkey to take back lands seized by Armenia illegally from Azerbaijan while Russia and Syria take Idlib. Everyone wins and saves face. Israel and the USSA will lose every where. It will strengthen the Turkey, Russia, Iran, Syria, China, Azerbaijan etc. alliance. The new pro Israel government of Armenia will be overthrown because of military defeat. Then Armenia and Georgia will be firmly in the Russia, China alliance and the Kurds will run to Assad and Ukraine will soon follow to join Russia and China. At the same time Russia will supply the Houthis with Kornet anti tank missiles so they can defeat Saudi militarily and bankrupt Saudi at the same time. If Erdogan goes against Russia it will give Israel the opportunity to implement lhe Yinon plan on Turkey . Erdogan and all his relatives and friends will be murdered by Mossad death squads, Turkey will be turned into one big Raqqa, bombed to bits and then broken up, with Israel getting Western Turkey along the Med, the Kurds will get central southern Turkey, Armenians Eastern Turkey, half the Turkish population will be killed and the rest wil be forced to flee to Germany. Turkey as a state and people will cease to exist forever, and Erdogan would go down in history as the worst Turkish leader in history.

Art Best

Putin could have stopped the Americans dead in their tracks without firing a single shot in anger simply by refusing to sell Russian oil and gas for dollars thence cutting off funding for the Anglo-zionist war machine supposedly pointed at his head?

That’s no casus belli. So why didn’t Putin do this where he had nothing to lose and the world to gain?

gustavo

Good point, it would be very interesting to find the real reason of Putin action.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

“Russia, Turkey and Iran also rejected any attempts to divide Syria under the pretext of fighting terrorism and vowed to support the U.N. sponsored peace process in the country”. If they’d left Turkey out of that proclamation it would’ve been a more honest and accurate statement, including Turkey in the statement just makes it laughable. Erdogan has 3 proxy armies operating in Syria, the FSA, the SLF, and the NLF, he’s got warships operating in the Mediterranean sea near Syria, tanks and troops rushing down to the newly fortified OB posts in northern Hama, and is also negotiating a long term settlement arrangement with the US concerning northern Syria, which in stark reality, is the exact opposite of what the statement proclaims his intentions are. Coincidentally, the Russians and the Chinese, are right now practicing for the use of small scale tactical nuclear weapons, in the largest wargames event ever held. It includes 300,000 soldiers, 2 naval fleets, 1,000+ aircraft, 36,000 tanks and fighting vehicles, and all the newest hi tech weaponry and gadgets they want to test out. If you live in any country other than the US, China or possibly India, just imagine this force of soldiers landing on your doorstep one morning, and what it would mean for you, what could your country do to defend itself, for most countries the answer would be, not much at all. If WW3 were to start between Russia/China/Iran versus the US/NATO, the first country Russia would try to take over is Turkey. Historically Russia has always wanted control of the straights there to ensure free passage for it’s military and trading fleets, and for the same reasons, modern day Russia would be no different. If the Russians were to use these new tactical nuclear weapons for the first time, using precision strikes, I’m sure it’d bring new meaning to the term “shock and awe”, anyone on the receiving end of this lot, would become the first examples to the rest of the world, as to just how effective these new Russian weapons really are, or aren’t, I’m pretty sure they’ll be devastatingly effective. I wonder if when Erdogan’s laying in bed at night, he ever wonders what it would be like to have that Russian bear come banging at his door, those 300,000 soldiers along with warships and aircraft, tanks and special equipment, but most importantly, those tactical nukes they could use if they wanted/needed to, I’m sure he does from time to time.

GRAHL

These guys admit there’s a “moderate opposition” element inside Syria??

peacelover

On the price of allying turks.
