Syria’s Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal al-Mekdad said on July 2 that Damascus is ready to retaliate to the recent Israeli attack that killed at least 16 people, including two children.
“Syria is always ready to reciprocate twice as harsh [against Israeli attacks]” Sputnik quoted al-Mekdad as saying.
The Israeli aerial attack, which occurred in the late hours of June 30, targeted several military positions in the Syrian capital, Damascus, and around the big central city of Homs.
Al-Mekdad said that Israel is trying to protect its “tools” inside Syria with such attacks, claiming that the attacks are a response to “the victories of the Syrian army and its allies”.
“The world, the UN Security Council and the United Nations itself need to understand the danger of such a development since Syria will not keep silence about its right [to retaliate],” Mekdad noted.
Since, the outbreak of the Syrian war in 2011, Damascus declined to respond to any Israeli attack in what appears to be an attempt to avoid an all-out war with Tel Aviv. While this strategy has allowed Damascus to focus on the internal conflict, it has also encouraged Israel to increase its attacks.
The June 30 attack was one of the biggest this year, and the first Israeli attack to cause a high number of civilian casualties. This will for sure force Damascus to reconsider its strategy, as the price of tolerating Tel Aviv’s attacks is becoming as high as the price of responding.
Talk is cheap, it is time to show some teeth and bite. The Zionists are weaker than a spiders web and strut on Americunt weaponry and simply can not sustain a long asymmetrical war and daily casualties.

Those S-300s are getting dusty. Time to brush them off, request permission from Lebanon to remove the trash from their skies and do it.
The attacks are launched from Lebanese airspace. The proper response must be to the launching airbase in Israel or an equivalent that was bombed or both.

I have said a couple of times within last 2 years that Russia, US and UK should avoid Israel for own safety. All those countries that assist, love and visit Israel will be disintegrated very soon.
Who is going to do it and how? Wont happen as i see it with the current situational equilibrium.

It saddens me to say it but Syria has been defacto partitioned and Russia and Syria ,Hezbollah and Iran all know it. A lot of it caused by Russia ‘s mistakes,weaknesses and own strategic aims.
Syria and Syria -lovers will not admit it as it is not good for public morale. That is why Syria does not respond to Israeli and Turco aggression as it should.

Very confusing are their going to call Putin for ceasefire or are their going to create another de-escalation zone run by Russia and Israel.
Maybe they will ask partner Turkey to run the deescalation,you know be cause they were so trustworthy and good at it the last tme! Haha
