Despite the reconciliation attempts, supported by Russia and the USA, heavy clashes are ongoing in the most part of Syria. After the failed advance of the Syrian Arab Army in the Raqqa province, Aleppo City and northern Latakia became the most important frontlines where pro-government forces are engaged in clashes with militants:
- In northern Latakia, following a week of heavy clashes, Al Nusra and allied militant groups have reverced the recent government gains in the area and reseized the strategic town of Kinsaba. The situation in the region remains tense.
- Near Aleppo City, pro-government forces, spearheaded by the SAA’s Tiger Forces, are successfully advancing in Mayda’a and the Mallah farms. Despite the significant resistance from Al Nusra terrorists, Syrian troops were able to entrench in the area and now they threat the only supply line, heading to the militant-controlled areas of Aleppo City.
