The joint forces of ISIS-linked units and US-backed ‘moderate rebels’ have been developing offensive in northern Hama. On August 31, the terrorits reportedly seized the vilalge of Suran located north of Hama. Suran is an important logistical hub located at the strategic M-5 Highway that runs from Damscus to Aleppo through Homs.
Now, when the terrorists are in control of Suran, they claim to advance on Maardas, reaching areas close to the provincial capital, Homs.
Separately, reports have appeared that units of the Syrian army’s Tiger Forces had been redeployed to northern Hama in order to repel the terrorist offensive in the area.
