On October 22, the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced that they took control over the Omar oil fields in eastern Deir Ezzor, on the eastern bank of the Euphrates. Lilwa al-Abdallah, one of the SDF spokespersons, said in a statement that the SDF “managed to liberate the fields without notable damages”.

Pro-SDF sources also claimed that the SDF established control over a large area north of the fields, including Tayyib al-Fal, al-Qusayriyah, al-Khurayzah, Shuhayl and other points.

On October 23, spokesman for the US-led coalition Army Colonel Ryan Dillon said in Twitter that the SDF caught ISIS off guard and the terrorist group had no time to destroy the infrastructure.

Meanwhile, according to Syrian sources, the SDF reached a deal with local ISIS members operating in the oil fields area and the only goal of media campaign showing the rapid SDF success was to hide this cooperation. A lack of videos and photos from the ground and no damage do the oil infrastructure contribute to this version.

On October 22, the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that the SDF and ISIS are working on an unprecedented deal that would allow the US-backed force to establish control over the eastern bank of the Euphrates. The negotiations, which are allegedly sponsoredby local tribes linked to ISIS, would extend the surrendered area between the villages of Khsham and Hajin.

The SOHR has a strong anti-government attitude. So, it’s hard to expect that it spreads this reports in order to support the so-called Assad propaganda campaign against the SDF.

Meanwhile, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies, backed up by the Russian Aerospace Forces, advanced southeast from al-Mayadin and liberated the villages of Mahkan and Quriyah and advanced on al-Asharah. The advance took place amid intense firefights with ISIS units operating in the area.

An intense fighting between the SAA and ISIS was also reported in Saqr Island near Deir Ezzor. Pro-government sources speculate that the SAA Tiger Forces will be actively involved in the operation in the area.

However, it’s unlikely that the Syrian military will be able to develop the large-scale operation inside Deir Ezzor city and to push further towards al-Bukamal simultaneously.

these zio satanic terrorists, yankee retard coalition and isis, will spread fake news whenever possible to boost their flaunting morale/impending defeat, it is a matter of time before these morons will be wiped out from syria

dutchnational

Also Gilles de la Tourette syndrome?

Jens Holm

Fun, if they mix up with Yours.

Joe Doe

SAA lost OMAR Oil filed due to SAA Generals poor tactical and strategic planning.

Rafik Chauhan

main plan for SAA IS BORDER ALBUKAMAL. BCUZ IF SDF TAKE THAT BORDER THEN US SAUDI PLAN PIPE LINE WILL BECOME MORE EASY BCUZ US/SAUDI ARE PLANING ANBAR PROVINCE TRIBE IN IRAQ TO JOIN US AND GO AGAINST IRAQI PM TO FORCE SAUDI PIPLE TO DEVELOP FROM SAUDI VIA ANBAR THEN SDF HELD ARES REACH TURKEY THEN EUROPE. AND SAA AND ALLIES KNOW BORDER IS MORE IMPORTATNT THEN OIL. OMAR OIL FIELD SDF CANNOT TRANSFER WITHOUT TURKEY AND SYRIA PERMISSION. AND DEFINETLY TURKEY WILL NEVER GIVE ECONOMMY IN THE HANDS OF PKK/YPG.

Davey Price

No they where fighting an enemy while the US coalition of the killing and the so called SDF where given a free run to the eastern Euphrates. There is no conflict between US SDF and IS

Jens Holm

Omar isnt lost.LEARN. Before ISIS grab it, Damaskus Grap it for friends. Now they may have to share it with the rest of the population.SHARE.

gustavo

Not fight at all between SDF and ISIS-Daesh, as one could have expected, of course. However, this looks also as an agreement between USA(SDF)-Russia(SAA), or it is an stupidity of SAA-Russia. Any victory that SAA-Russia-Iran-Hezbolah can have further on has been overshadow now. Omar oil fields are enough to construct a Kurdistan nation.

dutchnational

Doubt the latter.

Pave Way IV

Agree, dutchnational. The original objectives of the US were to monetize the oil to fund SDF-istan and to deny the oil and infrastructure to their Syrian owners. Omar’s light, sweet oil is crucial to Syrian refineries for blending with heavier crude from other oilfields. If the US can’t achieve the monetizing objective, then the will destroy the Omar when they leave to accomplish the resource denial objective.

It would take a while for the Kurds to construct a refinery to make much use of the oil, although it’s quite easy to refine. Maybe the US and Saudi Arabia were already planning on that and had resources set up to help Kurds monetize the Omar as quickly as possible. That certainly would have generated a ton of cash and gone a long way to funding SDF-istan.

Deir EzZor was crucial to controlling and monetizing the Omar and that isn’t happening for the SDF. Raqqa is too far away and the Syrians intend to take back control of the al Bukamal and the border crossing, either from ISIS or the SDF. At this point, the US would have to protect an SDF-held Omar with airpower forever against SAA armor.

The US will switch to relying on the new Saudi-funded head-choppers (replacing ISIS) to sabotage Syrian pipelines and infrastructure from now on. This new batch of head-choppers will never engage the Kurds – they’ll only go after SAA and allies.

EL ZORRO

-“At this point, the US would have to protect an SDF-held Omar with airpower forever against SAA armor.”- … Making the UNITED STATES an INVADING NATION for all to see. The UNITED STATES are committing CRIMES AGAINS HUMANITY IN SYRIA by FOMENTING, TRAINING, ARMING, AND FUNDING TERRORISMS agains a SOVEREIGN NATION.

Pave Way IV

The US has already BEEN an invading nation and admitted to funding terrorism in Syria. Protecting SDF resource/land theft of the Omar Oilfields wouldn’t change that one bit.

Jens Holm

You must be blind or worse.

Joe

The fight with SDF will be after ISIS is defeated.

SDF no chance vs SAA and allies

Jens Holm

US by McGurk has told, that never will happen.

John

I´ll go with the SAA. They are going to clean house at some point and the US will have no say whatsoever. The country is not US property and as a lawyer Mr. McGurk is fully aware of this. If you think that is dreaming, just look at what Iraq told the US SoS yesterday.

Jens Holm

I see no realism in Syria should go back and start like Old Saddam by killing all opposition. No way.

And you do forget, that Assads were enemy nr 1 before ISIS came out of hand. My Goverment as well as many others are in abrig group supporting that with USA as leading partner.

Assads ar no private proporty owner as well, but they behave as they are treating so many people as spendable randoms. We dont like that even I would prefare er were not there at all. Why spend money for food as well as guns on someone like You. I dont see the purpose.

You dont understand the rest of the world being limited from it Yourself by religion and culture. Thats it.

Only SDF kurds have to realitic plans for the future. Yours are common for the regionjust going years back and start the same stupidities again in the name of lying fatalism.

John

Don´t agree with you Jens about the Kurds. The rest of it, the only leading the US has done it to almost destroy the country. Saddam, what about those chemical weapnns huh?

John Panelli

“My government . .” Yes, that would be Israel wouldn’t it? It’s obvious with your typical Hebrew-English spelling mistakes bud . .

gustavo

There will not be a war between SDF-SAA. That was told by Syria, there will be negotiations….(?) strange to me.

Freespirit

UNITED STATES is “surrendering” to itself….by PROXY of course.

In simple WORDS, U.S is stealing that land and Russia is doing nothing about it. Syria cannot to anything. It doesn’t have the power

Israel wins again

Is any THINKING person surprised?

Gabriel Hollows

Cannot do anything? Just wait for the SAA to finish off the ISIS vermin. The kurdroaches will either run away crying like in Kirkuk or get slaughtered.

Freespirit

Hopefully but Time and Example will prove or disprove

FlorianGeyer

I would think that the Arab tribes that sided with ISIS to profit from the stolen oil that went to Turkey will now demand a slice of the oil revenue from the Kurds and the US.

The Arab tribes involved are most untrustworthy ( thats putting it politely ) and apart from the thorny issue self declared ISIS terrorists being embraced by the US coalition, this self interested gang of thugs may well become a Poison Chalice for the Kurds. The very possible infighting to come will be another popcorn moment.

The Syrian government cannot fight all at once. The priority is surely the securing of her borders with Iraq as the Iraqi military moves to control their borders with Syria.

TiredOfBsToo

“..another popcorn moment.”

Can’t forget Turkey at that moment. Earlier I noted that Turkey is setting up 8 bases in Idlib. Looking at a map of Syria, I noticed Turkey south of Afrin in Idlib and of course Turkey north of Afrin. That sandwich looks like it’s going to be very tasty for hungry Turks.

FlorianGeyer

Arguably the US/Kurd advances on the East bank of the Euphrates due to the defection of the ISIS Arab gangs will have determined Turkey to take action against the Kurds and by association the US.

Unintended or not, this consequence could in fact benefit the SAA in the long term.

TiredOfBsToo

agreed

Jens Holm

They have had that plan all the time and are needed to because of internal problems.

Jens Holm

If there is no war, whats to secure ?

FlorianGeyer

If the ex ISIS tribes do not get their cut of the loot they will doubtless resort to terror tactics against the Kurds and US. Most likely with IED’s.

Jens Holm

Im sure not many trust them at all. Those tribers are unorganised tribers and no match for SDF.

Im sure they only get a non cut above their heads. SDF take all active fighters with leaders out for inspection. Next step in that will be to hear all in the valley which tribers are most familiar to ISIS and when they have done or accepted.

Many complaints from Turks and Damsskus fanatics about that “refuge treatment” at Raqqa. So they have a well organised system. I hope they dont take innocent out b accidents. they probatly do that too now and then.

No cut.

Davey Price

You are out of order. Russia has stuck with the Syrian people when the West was drooling over the fall of Assad. What is happening now isca clear violation of international law. Its time for the international community to stand up and call a spade a spade. The countries affected by Kurdish theft are lining up to exclude them from cementing there lies into a national identity with borders. The US will loose control of this situation. Syria will deal with the Kurds down the road. There betrayal of Syria will cost them there autonomy and freedoms.

Freespirit

From you: “The US will loose control of this situation”

I would love to believe that but I know too much and have been doing my research since the late 1960’s……….

The House of ROTHSCHILD, has virtually unlimited money to continue HIRING unlimited numbers of Mercenaries, from virtually unlimited UNEMPLOYED who are pretending to be Muslims, FOR Greater ISRAEL to continue the ASSAULT on Muslims and Christians, worldwide

UNTIL That Family and their partner/friends in the House of Windsor and the Vatican AND/OR Israel are wiped from the face of this Earth, or at least IMPRISONED,they will continue their GENOCIDES and DESTRUCTION of countries

Their GOAL is not just to WIN a war. Their GOAL is to WIN this Planet and ELIMINATE most of Humanity. They have invested TOO MUCH, and not just in money, to give up

Thanks for your input, however

Jc Plancarte

The Vatican??!!! You are crazy!!! The Rothschilds have made the Vatican their enemy for hundreds of years, now!!! Who do you think was behind the atheist, or free-masonic, take over of many, previously Catholic countries, which then persecuted the church and allowed the immigration of jews, their zionist mafia, and protestant sects??? If you mean that the zionist mafia has infiltrated the Vatican, then, that is different. But, at least, it has not infiltrated it to the point of being rabid, ignorant pro-zionist like many protestant sect are!!!! For one, the Vatican does speak in defense of Palestinian rights and has always preached against the Rothschilds’ business, usury!!!

Freespirit

You obviously do not know who is control of Vatican Banking but thanks for your comment

Jens Holm

Rotshilds are cigars and wine as persians are carpets and cats.

Freespirit

Cigars and Wine CAN cause Cancer and liver disease-like conditions, not-withstanding dirty teeth, foul breath, clothes and foul room furnishings AND drunkenness but Carpets and Cats do not and cannot

Thanks for stopping by

John

I don´t buy that about the Rothchilds anymore. They had their day, mercs are expensive, locals in different parts of the world are kicking their butts, Wall Street is not so sure of them anymore and ……. * drumroll * …… they have opened the home in England as of a few years ago to public tours because it has become expensive to maintain and they needed the cash. They are not bogey man calibur anymore. They depended on the British military for a very long time and that is nolonger an option. Just my take on it.

Freespirit

From you: “I don´t buy that about the Rothchilds anymore.”Of course you don’t, just like Jews, Zionists and “useful idiots”, don’t.

But Thanks for dropping by

John

I doubt I need 40 years but, everybody has their view of the rose. What is occurring is much different from what you and may others think. I have had tons of conversations wih people who are following it too. I have heard about the 6000 year line that can be connected, from one civilization to the next. The problem in my opinion is much different than you may perceive. When you are ready and can think it through, you will know for sure what is actually going on. It will be a happy day in your life to find, that the people and personalities ( that would include the possibility of aliens ) are not the controlling factors. Keep on trucking. :)

Freespirit

Thanks for proving my assertions about you -“A young person NOT KNOWING what he does NOT KNOW, but telling the world he or she DOES KNOW

“Been there, done that”, MANY years ago

We are done now as I realize you are a waste of typing and time.

Jonathan Cohen

ABORTION RIGHTS IN OMAR!!!!!

Freespirit

Too bad they didn’t exist where and when you were born

I have enjoyed this memory of childhood so Thanks for stopping by

Jens Holm

Yes, that rubbish of the worst kind.

EL ZORRO

“SYRIA WAR REPORT – OCTOBER 23, 2017: ISIS MAY SURRENDER EASTERN BANK OF EUPHRATES TO US-BACKED FORCES”…TRANSLATION…United States INTERNATIONAL MERCENARY TERRORISTS I.S.I.S, joint United States Syria INVADERS SDF SEPOY in the EASTERN BANK OF EUPHRATES RIVER.

Xanatos

Russia is doing what it can. It is not going to try to do what it can’t.

Jens Holm

More like You need a brain transplantation Yourself. Hindus are in it too?

Richard M

It makes sense from ISIS’ POV. They are done in Syria now. If SAA takes them they won’t make it back to the streets. So an agreement with (US/NATO/Israel/SDF): Surrender and be allowed to exfiltrate to other battle zones: Libya, Sinai, N Africa, SE Asia.

A truly fiendish and malevolent ploy of the parenthetic cabal.

Jens Holm

Most of them are local tribers. Hard to see those start anything outside the country exept farms.

John

All of them, will have to play ball with the Syrian government sooner or later. This is just negotiating nonsense over things that do not belong to the deal makers. I want to see how this works out about 2 or three years down the line.

Jens Holm

Yes, hard to tell the future, but anyhow fine to me, if those give up instead of a last defend and more deads.

I cant see any ot those has anythi ng to do with Damaskus unless they specific has done bad things there.

Richard M

True. The locals will pretend they were cooks and maids, etc. There are lots of Chechens, Uighurs, Uzbeks and Euros that have to get out or die. Their only hope of doing it is a deal with SDF.

Deo Cass

The Omar oil fields are still controlled by ISIS. By replacing their flag with that of SDF they are still ISIS. The Syrian government forces and its allies need to immediately reclaim them from ISIS now whatever the cost. They are too valuable for the Syrian people to be stolen and looted by the illegal invasion US/Zionist/ISIS/SDF/Kurdish terror coalition. Without them Syria is a weak, beggar state easily black mailed into submission by the US/Zionist colonial imperialist invaders and occupiers of Syrian sovereign land. The sole legitimate Syrian state should also refuse to take part in any Astana or Geneva talks unless the founding principle upon whoch that document is founded, mainly quote: “The respect of Syrian sovereignty and territorial integrity” is honourded in full. In other words all illegal forces occupying Syrian sovereign land must leave before te resumption of any talks. Let the Russians who let the Syrian people down fume. The Syrian people need to think about their own interests first.

Rafik Chauhan

SYRIA WILL NOT DEPEND ON OIL NOW . EVEN IF THEY LOSE HALF PRODUCTION SYRIA WITH THE HELP OF IRAN WILL DEVELOLP MORE OIL AND GAS WELL IN SAA HELD AREAS PLUS THEY ARE PLANING TO MAKE SYRIA INDUSTRALIZE ZONE AND REFFINERY FOR OIL. FROM SDF HELD AREAS NOBODY WILL BY OIL BCUZ IT WILL BE COSTLY TO FLY AND TURKEY WILL NOT ALLOW PKK TERRIOST TO BECOME POWERFULL WITH OIL MONEY.

SyrianFighter

It is Turkey who bought very cheap oil from Daesh why you think that they will stop buying it from Kurds. When it’s cheaper doesn’t matter from whom it is

Manuel Flores Escobar

Then Daesh did not attack turkish army…but Kurds with oil money can build an army to attack turkey!

Jens Holm

You could sell Golan to Israel.they have oil close to along their coast. So far You have lost 450.000 inhabitants. You could make an exelent friendship importing some more spendables from the westbank or Gaza. Gaza seemes to be a little crowded and many will think its a possitive improvement.

After all, they were with You in the Ottoamn Region of Syria – well only Westbank was.

Jens Holm

??????????????

Rodger

It was a pretty good plan, join the Kurds and ISIS/Jihadis together in 1 ‘protected area’/state in Syria and Iraq and then establish a Sunni Arab and a Kurdish part that can separate peacefully. Too bad it has failed big now that the Kurds have moved for independence too quickly.

Jens Holm

At least 2 things are 180 degrees virtical lies.

Ma_Laoshi

Seems east of the Euphrates, things are pretty much going the US’s way. Not much sense to scream “betrayal, betrayal” when (A) this is how the US *always* rolls, and (B) the SDF have announced their intended land grab long in advance. A rump Syria which is cut off from key energy resources, and hence not economically viable, may well conclude it has to cut a deal with the Zionists down the road. Russia would be left wondering what happened when they thought they did everything right.

Jens Holm

Many wrong conclusions by wrong assumptions. Fx he 80% of Syria do have oil and gas. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/63495b257ad6d4bb8605efbc9f048934bd96a0368dd3800cc01ee7ff34130d46.png ressources.

In many countries modern technology double the old fields.

gustavo

Syria-Russia-Iran-Hezbolah had enough time to stop SDF when they arrived to Deir Ezzor and when they took Al Mayadin, and they did not want to do so. Thus, Syria has lost Omar oil fields, and this is very very stupid tactic made by whomever be in charged. Any further victory of Syria-Iran-Hezbolah- Russia has been already overshadow by this fact. There is not excuse and or pretext, Russia aerospace force had and has enough power to overcome any weakness of ground troops, point.

Jens Holm

No,they had not enough time to stop SDF. First the figtings isnt about that at all. Next You have to blame Damaskus for low priority of DEZ & oilfields there as well as incomptent warfare in the highest categori.

When SAA arrived(hrrrrm Russia, Iran, Hesbolloh and “tribers”, they were exhausted and made front all over to make chaos for themselves. You need fresh troops as well as supplies for it -and a lot of them.

Going at fx Omar would make them cut into pieces by ISIS right away. You seemes not to have learned, how close the heavy counterattack at Sukna was to catch a whole SAA army group.

Manuel Flores Escobar

Man think again…ISIS and Kurdish are the same garbage….ISIS fight vs SAA while Kurdish take Omar oil fields to USA companys!..both have the same godfathers( USA/Israel/Saudis)….one thief hit you while the other steals!

Manuel Flores Escobar

President Assad must to say that Omar oil fields is part of Syria!…if he dont say the opposite…kurds will star to sell oil and surely US petrol company will take control of oil fields!

Jens Holm

Who has said Omar isnt a part of Syria ??????????????????????? Well the SDF zone is that too.

You havnt learned its SDF and not only kur´ds and also that not all kurds agrre with PYD.

So should SDF send ouil out by internet, ballons or in barrels down Eufrat ?

Manuel Flores Escobar

USA payed to ISIS to enable SDF Kurds to take Omar fields!..if you think I am wrong…try to send SAA troops to Omar Oil field and Surely USA will attack them!

Jens Holm

No US didnt. US and the rest of the world has been figting ISIS since it came out of hand.

Well, with 3 delayers of it. Saudis & Qatar and of course turks, which thought terror was a good idea at us until it reached them too.

I dont know where You have those stupidities from, but they are totally out of all facts and local sence.

Solomon Krupacek

you stil dont bore to repeat the same stupidities?

electron

There is more & more evidence that a comprehensive deal, involving both Syria and Iraq, has been reached between US, KSA, RF. The latter two want to improve oil prices & curtail its output. KRG was producing nearly 1 million b/d and selling much of that at highly discounted rates.

Rosneft just announced plans to acquire 40% ownership in KRG pipelines, for $1.8 billion investment. KRG authorities are in a $3 billion of debt owing to foreign oil firms, and Baghdad, so they are desperate for investments, and a very few are interested.

Damascus may not have reached the Omar field per say; however, Kirkuk fields alone were over 150 times greater than Omar field. They have an incomparably greater effect on global markets & prices.

YPG being in possession of 80% of Syria’s oil, 65% cotton/wheat growing areas, and 100% of hydro electricity assets is only going to encourage Torkey & locals to engage in even more of an anti PKK sentiment, which in itself may be of strategic importance.

Solomon Krupacek

you, in opposite to that latino write truth. have a nice day!

Manuel Flores Escobar

you dont bore to support USA/Israel/Kurds…all in the same pack?..oh wait that they are fighting ISIS with one hand…and the legitime SAA with the other hand!…its is to call them “Not Clean Wheat” people!

Solomon Krupacek

look, latino! everybody knows, i am on assads side. but if these guys repeat the same mistakes, i have right to say my pinion.

Manuel Flores Escobar

I am NOT Latino…I am Spanish…we speak latin language..but our race is a mix of Arab, jews,Roman(latin),Visigodos( German+slavic)..latinos are people from Southamerica-central america-caribe.. included black, indian, white people!…you are Askenazi Jew which sow tares!

Solomon Krupacek

and i am not jew :)

MH370

wow they feel better to surender to the kurds than fellow arab brothers

Eskandar Black

This is a tough situation. SAA is in no position to take on the american forces in the region, which is really who is behind the take over of the oil fields. There are several possibilities here. First, some agreement may have been reached by the Russians with the US. Second the SAA recognizes the importance of securing the border. The fact is that Syria has been deprived of those oil fields for the past several years, and it is not a game changer if they have no access to the area a while longer. The kurdish mutant project is going to collapse, if not today, soon enough. The third option could involve an alliance of Turks, Iraqis, Iranians and Syrians to dismantle the Kurdish project once and for all. It is hard to say what will in fact happen as there are far more players on the ground then discussions on south front.

John Panelli

The Russians, Iranians and Syrians know what they are doing. The Omar oil fields are NOT Kurdish territory and the whole south Eastern Euphrates valley area is Arabic, not Kurdish. They are just giving the US and her proxy SDF more rope to hang themselves with. Russian philosophy is: He who tries to protect / defend everything, loses everything. Once Daesh is defeated, then the local Arabs, with Iranian and SAA support, will rise up and kick the Kurds out . .

Jens Holm

Hahaha. SDF hasnt even said, it was theirs. They have never blocked You as wel. Without them or as figting opposition, Assads was hardly Emirs of Latikia having an ironconcrite building as the lasr castle on a russian base.

John Brown

More proof the mighty SDF army is big hoax , they can’t fight their way out of a paper bag. All territories they get from ISIS are given to them but they have to make it look good for the Zionist media show. As for Raqqa it looks like the moon. Massive USSA carpet bombing killing everything alive. The SDF only moved into areas in Raqqa after all life was exterminated. Again needed to make it look good for the Zionist media show.

Jens Holm

You might remove Your own paperback.

John Brown

?? What??

Manuel Flores Escobar

One thiefs hits you (ISIS)…while the other ( Kurdish) steals! and the boss of the gang ( USA) and his accomplices ( Israel,Saudi)..watch the sting!
