Late on January 14 (around 22:00 Damascus time), the Isareli Air Force carried out a strike on the T4 airport in the Syrian province of Homs.
According to pro-Syrian sources, the Syrian Air Defense responded to the strike by downing “a number of of missiles.” Nonetheless, the Syrian side confirmed that at least 4 missiles hit the T4 airport area, but said that the strike caused a material damage only. Pro-Israeli sources claim that multiple ‘Iranian personnel’ were killed in the strike.
The T4 airport is the operational base for Iranian-backed anti-ISIS operations in the central part of Syria as well as hosts a part of Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles deployed in the country.

4 missiles were fired from Lebanese airspace and all were intercepted. Syrian media just showed fragments of missiles and no damage.
no man, it would’ve been easier to intercept if that was the case. However, SANA said the IDF warplanes launched the missiles from Al-Tanf airspace which is only 35-60km away from T4. The Syrian radar operators had little heads up.

Israel inevitably win so invade more Syria territory on top of Golan Heights and expel the remaining Palestinians in Gaza, West Bank and Israel to this new conquered territory ‘New Palestine’. Syria is prudent not to pick a fight it would loose, at least for now, and focus on its immediate priorities.
The Russia-Israel agreement allows Israel to attack Iranian forces and respond to anyone who attempts to hit Israeli aircraft. So it is better that the SAA doesn’t intervene.

Guys some of you need to remember
The Syrian government don’t have battalions of S300s strewn all over the place. With limited resources and trained personnel they have to be efficient with what they have available to them. They still use the S200 and several BUK systems from the 1970s-1980s which while still effective as the USA cruise missile attacks can testify are not as accurate as the more modern s300 or s400.
That said accuracy in retaliation against Israeli aircraft is not the issue with any Israeli strike on Syria, it is regional geography that saves the Israeli planes and their pilots. Syria has a mountainous border with Lebanon almost 150 miles long rising in height from 4,500 ft to 12,000 ft The Israeli warplanes fly low out of Israel an into Lebanese airspace along the mountain range once they reach an area that they wish to fire from these planes steep climb to just above the mountain peaks fire their missiles and dart back down behind the mountain range for cover, then return to Israel.
If the Israeli’s send 4 planes (F16s) like they normally do that’s at least 24 missiles to deal with, some are going to get through especially with limited Air defences. Which is why the head choppers are continually flying drones at Syrian and Russian bases to probe the defences. The results and intelligence ends up with the Israelis to aid them in planning further attacks. This pop-up and fire method (shoot and scoot) is the only way Israel conduct operations in Syria they do not enter Syrian airspace at anytime with Israeli identification transponders active, otherwise they would be eliminated as a threat very quickly.
The Israelis have in the past flown through Jordanian and Saudi airspace and into Syrian airspace proper to carry out attacks. However they usually use U.S identification signatures which allows them to fly unhindered as the Syrian Air Defences will have them listed as coalition aircraft.
The Israelis will then launch an attack on Iranian assets and leave. Many hours later once the Israelis are home safe the U.S will deny it was coalition aircraft involved in the attack but they will only make this clear once the Israeli aircraft are free of danger.
Israels last three attacks have been with 4 planes, I said that they use Lebanons airspace and mountains for cover in the second paragraph, and when they struck at the Iraqi border they were using US transponders for cover

Accord Syrian ministry of defense…4 cruise missile were shot down…one hit the base caused limited damage…during the last Israeli attack vs Damascus….sources told that 2 missile hit target…but it was Debris vs civilians houses..as Pantsir shrapnel blades use to cut the intercepted missile and parts of them continue with the inertia of the flight until they fall to the ground causing sometimes damage.
60% interception rate with BUK/KUB against advanced Delilah cruise missiles is pretty good. However, 80-90% is what the SAA needs to strive towards.

Hard to believe this is still happening when Syria allegedly received 28 S-300PM2 launchers and many radars. But the facts are only 4 out of the 28 S-300 launchers are deployed inside Maysaf, and under the Russian Military Operators control. As for the other 24 S-300 SAM, they are in storage wasting away while the Kike’s continue to strike at ease.
