Government forces, led by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) 5th Assault Corps’ ISIS Hunters, have liberated al-Mushayrifah and deployed in only about 2 km from the ISIS-held town of Uqayribat from the southeastern direction.
At the same time, government forces positions northwest of Uqayribat are located in about 9km from the ISIS-held town.

Whatever has been trapped in the pocket, will die in the pocket.
Why doesn’t SAA from T2 area also advance to dez?
T2 seems not be liberated this time.
First T2 must be captured which will take a while it seems . And from there SAA will push towards the lion’s den – Bukamal area which should be done in cooperation with Iraqis which for now is missing . Until Iraqis dont start Al Qaim , I think SAA will not try to advance towards Bukamal
The main key of all in Deir Ezzor is the liberation of many thousands comrades in DE City and airport. And this could happen much easier when the last Hama pocket is cleared to free further of thousands SAA/allies. The options then will rise for the whole DE gov…
T2 has more ISIS/Daesh there as the flanks were being protected and not so much the road to DE since they are getting bombed by the RuAF and SyAAF. Trying to break the region there will take more since the heavy investment by ISIS in the area, as it is the flank of Abu Kamal region and SAA needs the Iraqis pushing the border and that won’t happen any time soon.
The US has the Iraqi Army attacking the next pocket and wasting time and manpower in this effort as there were only 600-800 in Sinjar valley. They are still weeks from putting a credible force in Shaddadi together so they will continue to redirect the Iraqi Army from the Border, and why Syria and Russia was hoping to force their hands with them sending Terrorists to the region.
Why they are not reinforcing the T2 area? The desert hawks should have been sent there
The Desert Hawks were disbanded because their commander was always in it for the money and only wanted the lucrative fighting. The Euphrates Hawks was another unit formed and they were transferred into the other elite units , which was a good idea since most were non-coms asked to be soldiers. The T2 area is heavily invested by ISIS/Daesh and they need their flanks covered before advancing.
because their commander was always in it for the money and only wanted the lucrative fighting.
this is not true, this is assads lie. there were other reasons. and dont forget, that commander built up DH from own money.
Prove it! Send the link where u read this!
i know i meant before they were disbanded, should have been sent there. still even now more units should be sent there, its almost like everyone forgot about them
SAA should liberate more area and shrink more the packet before storming the Uqayribat city. Smaller packet more SAA infantry and military hardware to storm the Uqayribat city
With the strong help of russian aerospace forces, Syria-Hezbolah-Iran-Russia land forces can do whatever they want in whatever order, they just need good coordination and a really strong support from aerospace russian forces.
go ISIS Hunters
My source is telling me that SAA is taking serious heat from ISIS on Southeastern Raqqa front. The source also confirmed US and ISIS are in the same bed as all kind of US weapons are in their possession and being used in this offensive.
Could IS possibly be thinking of occupying Deir es-Zor with forces it has withdrawn from areas around Deir es-Zor? KiraSeer
What do you mean? Their goal is to keep the SAA/Hezbollah away. And they are failing badly.
The goal of IS is much broader than that. You are seeing only what looks like tactical blunders; you are missing long range strategy. KiraSeer
AMN is also reporting that SAA is leaving a coridor open for ISIL to evacuate Hama pocket. That is interesting. Still it didn’t report in which direction
Link? As I know the Hama pocket has no leak. The opposite seems to be true. The SAA/allies actually create a second pocket in the far northeast of the Hama pocket. ISIS will be fine sizzled.
