On February 1, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) advanced further south of the city of Saraqib in the southeastern Idlib countryside.
According to pro-government sources, the army imposed control of the town of Luf following a fierce battle with al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its allies.
Luf is one of the largest towns in Saraqib city’s southern countryside. The town is located only 9 km to the south of Saraqib, which is the main target of the ongoing SAA military operation in southeast Idlib.

A day earlier, the SAA captured the towns of Ain al-Ban and al-Kan’is in southeast Idlib. The army also advanced in the southern Idlib countryside and imposed control of the towns of Hish, Kafr Mazdah, Tubish, Muqah and Amiriyah.
HTS and its allies are sustaining heavy losses while they are attempting to stop the army’s advance. According to the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), 220 militants were killed by the army in the last six days only.
A new surprise attack from the east of the M5 highway is needed, considering that the attack from the south of the M5 highway has slowed down a little for a while. I know the SAA commanders and their allies are making plans for this attack, if the attacks from the south slow down for a long time then they will start, the defense of the terrorists in the eastern M5 region is relatively weak compared to the M5 highway area. Depending on how the development in the next few days. Attack the rats from all directions! Make them escape to their lair in Turkey!
The British government should buy a few thousand White Helmets for the terror jihadis and the send some ‘mercy flights’ to rescue their terror jihadi’s and fly them to the UK.
After a week or to of English lessons the White Helmets could then be put to work in the NHS ( National Health Service ) :)

Why did the attacks in the south slow down? I remember for 1 day their airforce was grounded, due to the weather, but it improved so why are they so slow?
