The Syrian army and Hezbollah, supported by the Russian Aerospace Forces, have expelled Al Nusra Front terrorists and their allies from the Armament College and the Artillery College and nearby buildings at the Ramouseh Artillery Base in southwestern Aleppo. This move allowed the pro-government forces to set a full control of the road between Khan Tuman and the Ramouseh Neigborhood and besiege the militant-controlled areas of Aleppo city for the second time this summer.

Various pro-militant sources, including the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, also confirmed that the Syrian army and its allies are in control of this strategic area.

Last few hours, the pro-government forces were entrenching themselves in the Ramouseh Artillery Base in order to prevent any chances to re-gain this area by militants. Few moments ago, Al Nusra terrorists, supported by various units of the Jaish al-Fateh operation room, launched a counterattack in order to regain positions in the artillery base. Clashes are ongoing.

If the pro-government forces are able to repell the terrorists’ counter-attacks, they will likely continue their advance, attacking the Hikma School and the northern part of 1070 Apartment Project. Then, they will likely advance in the Ramouseh Neighborhood. These moves will allow the Syrian government to control successfully the perimeter of the besieged militant-controlled areas.

Meanwhile, the Iraqi pro-government militia “Haraket al-Nujba” has captured of the Khan Tuman depots near the strategic town of Khan Tuman in southern Aleppo. Separately, Jaish al-Fatah militants have reportedly withdrawn from the town of Qarassi.

Good news indeed :)

Пламень За Свободу

well done Russia and Syria

Sylvain Gregoire Bautista

Aquartertoseven

Even Liveumap is reporting it, this is real people!

Richard the Slav

IKR

Escapos

Good job. But the rebels where focussing on Hama. Lets hope they can hold them there. Or this would be a phyric victory.

Mahmoud Larfi

Hama front was a desperate move by Islamists to relieve their crumbling south-west Aleppo front… Hama offensive is now falling apart as well as days are passing and it will get even worse for them in the incoming hours… Terrorists’ spokespersons a.k.a Syrian Opposition in Exile are offering a countrywide ceasefire to the sole condition that SAA stops its push in Ramusah.

gravity

SAA needs reinforcement now not to allow the terrorists to break their corridor again and let them suffer or surrender. That will be the end of terrorists in Syria and will peril them until they will not attempt to wage war against Syrian people again. Very soon Syria and Turkey will establish tie therefore Turkey will end supplying the terrorists.

enigel

I don’t think Turkey will tolerate Assad. They will only accept him temporarily,

gravity

Politics is a dirty game, yes Turkey will tolerate Assad and they stated recently they to establish a tie with Assad because is only president who could bring unity in Syria like he did for many years. Turkey say they accept Assad for temporary, but he will be permanent.

grumpy_carpenter

I don’t think they have a choice

John Whitehot

many people don’t accept Erdogan either.

Richard the Slav

Finally. Now the rebel gains can completely collapse

Aquartertoseven

They need to shut down other fronts if they want to really concentrate on the northern front, Latakia, Idlib, Hama and Aleppo. They’ve got some battle lines that should’ve been eliminated long ago; West Ghouta is finally getting dealt with, but East Ghouta and the various bubbles around Damascus should’ve been handled a year or two ago. The northern and eastern Homs blobs are frankly absurd, they need to get shut down to allow tens of thousands of troops to focus on Idlib and Aleppo, only then will the SAA have a chance of winning the war, rather than the tit for tat and stalemates that are the norm currently. Decisive, overwhelming force is needed.

Richard the Slav

You’re absolutely right, I see no reason for those pockets to exist when it has been shown now in Daraya and Eastern Ghouta that SAA is fully capable of taking them down. However, it is also worthy to note that a lot of them were cleared since peak rebel strength around 2013.

I would also add that overall SAA are winning more so than rebels. They have blocked Aleppo and rolled back the gains made in Latakia. Now they just need to stop the Hama offensive

Aquartertoseven

True, they are very slowly taking the upper hand in general but with Latakia, Aleppo and Hama, they’ve got to beat them back just to resume to the stalemate position the two sides maintained before the militants offensives, so the progress they’re making is deceivingly positive. The SAA need to free up troops for a real good push, before Turkey move any further south, which they will, very soon no doubt. With the laughable legitimacy Turkey and the world in general places on the “FSA”, they no doubt think that it would be fine for their proxy, with their wholesale support, to sweep across the country, which can’t be allowed to happen.

Jens Holm

Noone think FSA could come from Jarablus soon or ever.

enigel

The syrian colonel with the sun glasses is a badass,Like Rambo would not want to mess with this fucking guy.He would probably just go around him.

Tom Johnson

I read this same crap 3 weeks ago, and will read it again after the residents of Aleppo beat the daylights out of the Iranians and Hezbullah again.

grumpy_carpenter

“Residents of Aleppo” The Residents of Aleppo live in the 75% of Aleppo that’s not destroyed and still has operating hospitals, schools and cafes. These are YOUR boys that have been desperately throwing bodies at keeping their supply lines open….. CIA unicorns, Al Nusra and ISIL. The roads into the pocket have been under constant artillery fire and air attack. When the SAA gave up ground the areas they were retreating from were turned into kill zones with ranged artillery and air bombardment. If the rebel forces attack again I suspect the SAA will retreat once again preserving their forces and turning the ground into a killing field.

You should really study how warfare works. The Austrian corporal also didn’t understand the concept of strategic retreat either and it got him killed and his country defeated.

Spunkyhunk

Yeah, that’s right – U.S. and Turkish-trained and supplied jihadi terrorists from dozens of different countries are “Aleppo residents”… You must think everyone is a lowbrow moron like yourself. IDIOT!

Andrew Illingworth

“residents of Aleppo”

You certainly are a troll of epic proportions.

janarddan

Online masturbation by Tom Johnson continues – now its all AIR that flows out :-)

Antikapitalista

Firstly, you need to stop reading crap; secondly, then you need to stop taking crap… and then you will stop posting crap.

Andrew Illingworth

Any word on the Ramouseh garages?

Joseph Scott

I’m guessing the *ahem* reconnaissance group of riot police” was involved in this. Something tells me ‘reconnaissance group’ was the key part of the phrase.
