The Syrian army, backed by the Russian Aerospace Forces, have liberated the ancient city of Palmyra from the ISIS terrorists, the Kremlin spokesma, Dmitry Peskov, announced on March 2 citing Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu’s report to President Vladimir Putin.
The Syrian army has also reportedly taken the Palmyra Airport. However, sporadic firefights are still reported there.
The map above provides a look at the military situation in the area according to preliminary reports.
Russian media say Syrian army servicemen have begun examining the historic part of Palmyra with the aim of demining the city.
Earleir this week, government troops captured strategic hills west and north of Palmyra, the Palmyra Triangle and the Palmyra Citadel and entered the Palmyra Orchards.
Where did all the 4000 ISIS fighters go?
Hopefully a lot of them went to hell. Some went to the Deir Ezzor offensive a while back. The rest pulled back. SAA should be careful here and widen their flanks. Daesh may be weaker, but they are still tricky and very mobile (if they still have vehicles).
North Palmyra/est Homs is more probably. To defends the oil fields.
The good thing is that ISIS is under pressure.Mosul will be soon over,Raqqa is in middle stages.ISIS is going on defense.Now SAA must capture East Hama and East Homs and go for Sukna.
Nothing major here really, since most of the ISIS army had already pulled back. War is not over until your enemies lie slaughtered on the ground, their souls burning in hell for eternity.

In ancient warfare maybe. In modern war they can simplest finish the munition :D

But now we can join up with the SAA and liquidate al-Saud family because my Brothers maybe will remember Rashidum Caliphate included Imam Ali.
