The Syrian army troops and Liwa al-Quds fighters have made fresh gains against the Jaish al-Fatah militant alliance in the northern part of Aleppo city. After taking control of the strategic Humrah Hill today morning, the pro-government forces attacked Jaish al-Fatah units in the Shuqayf Army Base (Rahbat Shuqayf ) and the Shuqayf Industrial Area and liberated them after an intense firefight with the US-backed forces.

The successfull actions of the army and its allies in the area were based on the ground of failures of Jaish al-Fatah storming groups to retake the Kindi hospital from the pro-government forces. The Syrian army and Liwa al-Quds, supported by Russian warplanes, have been able to repell all attacks of the joint militant forces and successfully counter-attacked, seizing the area of Bakarah (the Bakarah Quarries are located just south of the Handarat refugee camp).

The Syrian army and its allies, supported by the Russian-Syrian air power, have been continuing military operations against illiegal armed groups in Aleppo city.

Wait, so have the Kurds advanced north or not?? Masdar’s map says that they haven’t, that the SAA control that area, the extension of the Castello Road, but you SouthFront are showing otherwise. Who’s right?

southfront

There are yellow (Kurds) and orange (contensed/recently captured) colours at the map. Please, don’t mix them. P.S. The area is under the control of pro-government forces.

Kire Stojanovski

Yes but the Shuqayf Housing in the Masdars map is shown as under SAA control while you show it as under Kurds control. I’m also wandering who is right?

southfront

The area is under the control of pro-government forces. The colour shows that it’s recently captured.

southfront

There are conflicting reports now.

john mason

Under SAA control.

Kire Stojanovski

Yes, obviusly there are conflicting reports about that area, but anyway, it’s not that important until the SAA and Kurds are not in a war against each other (at least at that area).

mode

as long as its not fatah halab its fine by me. Not like that housing is the most important location in northern aleppo anyway

southfront

Local sources say it’s under the YPG control.

The BBC commentary is beating a opposite path to Al-Jazeera signalling the end for the Aleppo armed opposition and saluting the efforts of Coventry’s Observatory, I remember their broadcasts when the tank battalion come Rolling out of Tunesia, boasting about the doors being missing from the houses of Tribes loyal to the legitimate Government of Libya, delierous contentment was all she spoke, that was before the internet for me, those broadcasts were only available in the very early morning, as listeners would wake up they would change their tune, pretty soon the BBC will be on our side.

I wish there was a scale of miles or kilometers so that we could keep track of the size of the areas.

* edit * – never mind, I see the 1 km marker on the lower right. I have seen other maps where I could not find this.
