On Saturday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies captured Umm Haratayn and Qubaybat Abu al-Huda villages in the northern Hama countryside, according to Hezbollah media wing in Syria. The two villages were captured after heavy clashes with Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) fighters.

Syrian pro-government sources claimed that the SAA captured 6 tanks, 3 BMP-1 vehicles and other vehicles from HTS during its advance. Moreover, pro-government sources reported that over 80 HTS fighters were killed in Russian airstrikes in the southern Idlib countryside.

Meanwhile, many units from the Tiger Forces were re-deployed from the northwestern Deir Ezzor countryside to the northern Hama countryside after the SAA captured of Madan town.

The SAA may plan to launch a military operation to capture the strategic Hama-Aleppo highway. Both Umm Haratayn and Qubaybat Abu al-Huda villages are located on the highway, and this supports these expectations.

Brilliant.

Tiger Forces units have been in Hama since few weeks already . I dont think all of them will be redeployed to North Hama . It will be mistake if it happens

With Republican Guard being relieved in DeZ and other pockets being cleared, manpower is no longer an Issue for SAA. Their morale is as high as ever and I dare say by early December Idlib, Northern Aleppo and Jordanian-Israeli border is only going to be an issue. PKK is going to be a diplomatic one, they will put their tails between their legs and retreat north.

Justin

I hope so

The pictures shown are NDF and all units have been redeployed as usual, NDF and the Army are the defense forces and more effective than Tigers at defending as they can be overwhelmed. This always happens during war as units replace others and rest and prepare for the next offensive. The Army Regular and NDF forces can recover faster and counter attack with more firepower than an assault force.

Thegr8rambino

yes they need some to be in/around dez too

Trustin Judeau

Well I have bad news . Looks like all TF will leave for Hama according to very reliable source . Then I want SAA to open M 5 highway to Aleppo . At least it should be worth it

Thegr8rambino

Why all going there?

Trustin Judeau

To launch offensive I guess . This will be the first SAA offensive conducted against the rebels in Idlib area this year

Thegr8rambino

I thought they should wait until all of Dez was secure, and then take care of idlib

Trustin Judeau

I also think so . It is not the time . I will tell you why . First SAA need to advance east of the bank fast and south of DZ to cross again towards Busayrah and capture Omar from there if SDF block SAA from the first route . SAA still can do this but without TF will take more time . Second now this will create media noise over Idlib and third the rebels are very fortified there , More troops will be need to break their lines

Thegr8rambino

Yes I agree they need to get those Omar oilfields, and take back taybeh oil fields too! Why are they doing these things? I would think they know this!

Trustin Judeau

The goverment managed to block ES, block Al Tanf rebels, go to the southern bank of Raqqa which de facto stopped the push of SDF towards Madaan so lets hope they know again what they are doing

Thegr8rambino

Lol yes. What’s ES? Euphrates shield?

Trustin Judeau

Yes . The Turkish mercenaries .

Thegr8rambino

yes its very good, a huge astronomical leap since beginning of the year, and i hope the areas you mentioned are liberated in time as well. as for me, i wish i could live comfortably in another country besides the US, a country that doesnt support terrorism or is controlled by zionists

Trustin Judeau

Yes it is . Remember the time when people were saying Assad controls 20 percent or that ISIS will soon reach Homs lol

Thegr8rambino

no i dont but i am so glad at how wrong they were lol, i am laughing at them!!

Thegr8rambino

SAA has become THEEE most powerful fighting force against daesh on the planet!!

Justin

Close up the pockets and begin proxy war 2 against the Kurds?

Trustin Judeau

The oilfields must be controlled by the goverment . If it is needed SAA must fight YPG and company . Yesterday ferry vehicles arrived to DZ which means that th goverment havent given up

1eeripsa

Go SAA and Russia!

That Guy

What is that tank, it looks old as fuck.

Richard M

Looks like a homemade hodgepodge tank! :D

Tudor Miron

It (additional armor retrofitting) is mad in local shops with simplest tools so yes it is truely homemade :)

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

These are NDF forces the reserves who are to be the police, what do you expect if it works they would still have pride in it. :)

goingbrokes

I think it’s a captured tank.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

It’s an old T-55 they got from the regular forces , how many reserve units are always glad to have some extra protection from small arms and mortar rounds. The reserve forces are always lucky to get what they have anywhere in the world.

Richard M

If it can be used effectively, then I’m all for using it. It was HTS that did the ersatz up-armoring though, yes?

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

That was done I think after they captured it and refurbished it and if it works then good.

Peter Moy

It is a T-55 with a 100 mm. gun. The thin side armor on the chassis and turret is an attempt to detonate hollow-charge or HEAT (high explosive anti-tank) rounds away from the main armor. Compare this type of applique armor to pictures of German World War two armored fighting vehicles like the Panzer III, Panzer IV, Panther, Sturmgeschutz III and IV, Brummbar assault howitzer, Hetzer, etc. The German version was known as “schuerzen.”

SAA couldn’t keep Umm Haratayn and Qubaybat Abu al-Huda villages. HTS and it’s allies counterattacked and recaptured those villages. They also entered Ma’an and carried out SBVIED inside it. Situation today in North Hama was precarious for SAA. Many Iranians dead today in Sakr Island in Deir Ezzor.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

ISIS reported those or CIAmaq stop feeding on propaganda too much, seen this also posted on pro jihadi sites.
