On Thursday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies recaptured the strategic al-Bishri Mountain from ISIS in the western part of Deir Ezzor Governatore, according to pro-government sources.
The Al-Bishri Mountain is located north of al-Shula and Bir Ghabaghib villages on the al-Sukhnah-Deir Ezzor highway. Furthermore, The Al-Bishri Mountain is one of the highest positions in the desert in the Raqqa-Deir Ezzor-Homs triangle.
Russian warplanes conducted dozens airstrikes on ISIS targets supporting the SAA advance in the Al-Bishri Mountain area.
Meanwhile, opposition sources claimed that ISIS launched a new attack on SAA positions in the Ghanim al-Ali area in the southern Raqqa countryside. The SAA is still incapable of organizing an effective defense line because of a lack of the manpower in the area.
Many experts believe that the SAA will face more effective resistance from ISIS closer to Deir Ezzor city. Many sources – including the US-led coalition – claimed that there are at least 10,000 ISIS fighters now in Deir Ezzor city and its countryside mainly in al-Mayadin and al-Bukamal cities.
Southfront your contributor is denying this
and while many more is reporting it
True . Reliable sources like wata and Yusha reported . But I am surprised that they captured this so fast unless there have been black out in this area
Don’t be to surprised. Everything we see is only half the truth of what’s actually occurring. The SAA cracked down on leaking to much of their advances until they are fully secured. Most of the quick reporting we hear from the front could be news intended to either demoralize the terrorist or make false moves according to news published.
Thank you for the feedback. The article clearly says this info was provided by pro-government sources. SF Team includes people from different sides and with different attitudes. They use different sources. We are going to release a update on the issue later today.
10.000 Isis members in deir ezzor area ? Impossible. Why didn’t they capture deir ezzor then if they have such force.
Maybe there are some thousands of SAA inside? :D
SRG, Syrian Rep. Guards. Well trained and battle hardened.
Maybe because SAA had 10k military there too?
The safety of ISIS in those areas is not looking good since there are steady flow of uprisings by the locals. That’s possibility of why ISIS is in those positions and haven’t advanced from them and infighting in the region, but US is notorious for over projecting the actual numbers. This would be an opportune time for Iraq to clear their borders since it looks like ISIS has been withdrawing forces and weakening their lines again.
LIES of Israhel!
Deir-Ezzor is a large governorate. All the towns along the Euphrates plus the desert areas can easily accommodate 10,000.
PZIVJ your mount al-bishri has been liberated :))
RIGHT ON! Lets push those ISIS skumbags into the Euphrates river. GO TIGERS :) https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/c70d6700b07c5b4e051acd195687562385acbb568b003ef7e245e1b1dfbf6617.jpg

If this is true then it is an important move. But the final battle on the plains and in the towns óf DeZ govenorate will be tough and requires large amount óf troops. Would be nice if PMU joins in to help.
I would disagree with the experts. The most resistance will be in Deir Ezzor CS, not the Deir Ezzor city itself and surrounding area, as majority of the city, including Airport is under SAA control. Most likely ISIS will start withdraw from Deir Ezzor and surrounding area when SAA will be 5km to 10 km from city.
The most fight and fears resistance from ISIS will be at Deir Ezzor countryside and South of Raqqa the SAA blunder made in that area
I can’t predict if DZ City will be the site of ISIS’ last stand or not. If it is to be the final stand though I predict ISIS will attempt a big counterattack in the city before the SAA reinforcements arrive.
Well done SAA; I think you shall eventually prevail. Keep fighting and keep safe; You are the sons of the soil/ the Liberators/warriors and heroes. You show dedication/intensity/ the ability to work with like minded troops! I applaud your professionalism and your positive attitude on the battlefields created by the the EU/Israhell and her partner in crime USA. We pray for more victories and, the total liberation oif Syria from the fangs of the poisonous Wahabhist chalice handed to you from externally funders, who want your OIL for themselves; They are willing to destroy lives and property to satisfy their OIL owning cravings! Kick their arses long and hard!
its more than oil. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/4e3fe6248be777479f0f789bb46215d7fcb45e0d7cb52ee724c12471b4139369.jpg
The ‘x’ mark in a triangle representing Bishri probably should be two pickaxes as the area is a large quarry for natural asphalt.
If they carry on with their advance, they will reach Kobajjeb and Ash-Sholah, with the latter having a decent sized oil field nearby. Ash Sholah is the last town along that highway before Deir Ezzor. If they move to Deir Ezzor to relieve the besieged troops they will create another pocket separating the Daesh attacking Ghanem-Ali from the rest of Syria and the Daesh across the Euphrates.
SAA will have to watch for possible river crossings from the Daesh in the northeastern half of Syria to reinforce the Daesh last stand.
SAA is getting close to artillery range of ISUS positions around D-E. It will be sweet music to the defenders when the first land-based shell lands in an ISUS encampment. It won’t be long now!
The heroic defenders then should answer with fireworks salutes against the sky to show where ISIS will take the next und last playground. GO SAA and allies. Get to DE City to embrace your comrades. Push trough ISIS like a hot knife into frozen butter.
I see it positive, when the concentration of isis is so high. In such a case carpet bombing with phosphorus is doing the job. RuAF can deliver it, and WILL deliver it.
