On Saturday, the Syrian Army Army (SAA) captured the villages of Al-Hardan, Salim al-Hamad, al-Atashana, Muqla Saghira, Muqla Kabira and Al-Daa’ma in the southeastern Raqqa countryside after intense clashes with ISIS fighters, according to the Hezbollah media wing in Syria.
Furthermore, Syrian and Russian warplanes carried out more than 40 airstrikes on ISIS positions in Maadan town in the last 24 hours according to local sources. Sources from the opposition also claimed that US-led coalition warplanes targeted ISIS in Al-Jaber village west of Maadan with 15 airstrikes.
On the other side, ISIS fighters attacked SAA positions at the Deir Ezzor airport, where ISIS was trying to increase pressure on SAA troops besieged in Deir Ezzor before the SAA lifts the siege of the city.
In eastern Ithryia, an ISIS VBIED targeted a gathering of SAA soldiers in Marina village. ISIS claimed that 18 Syrian soldiers were killed in the attack, and a tank was destroyed.
Hundreds of youths from Deir Ezzor have fled the ISIS obligatory recruitment to the Syrian Democratic Forces-held areas and to Idlib province, according to local sources. It’s believed that the final battle with ISIS will take place in the southern Deir Ezzor countryside, specifically between Al-Mayadeen and Al Bukamal cities, the last major ISIS strongholds in Syria.
excellent news
Fled to Idlib? That’s a helluva way away from Deir Ezzor province. Sounds like they want to flee to anywhere but government territory. Interesting–if this report can be believed, that is.
Exactly , the only safe direction of fleeing ISIS , would be north into Kurdish territory , but Idlib , Al Qaeda territory ?
These reports are getting really ridiculous when they state the fled in the opposite direction and far away from safety which makes that part incredulous and dibelievable since many have joined the tribals with the SAA fighting ISIS , lol.
