Syrian Army Captures Arak Gas Field Near Palmyra

Support SouthFront

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA), supported by the Russian Aerospace Force, captured the Arak gas field in east of Palmyra after heavy clashes with ISIS militants. The 5th Assault Corps and Russian-backed tribal forces took part in the operation.

This push is considered the first step in the operation aimed to liberating the strategic town of Sukhnah and lifting the ISIS siege on Deir Ezzor city.

South of Palmyra, the SAA managed to capture the strategic Abtar mountain near the village of Sawana, the missile battalion, the Hillabat Palace and Tal Al-Fari.

According to local sources, ISIS intends to withdraw from the entire area south of Palmyra and eastern Qalamoun. This comes amid the SAA push against ISIS in the eastern Homs countryside and the US-backed Free Syrian Army advance in the direction of Al-Bukamal.

ISIS have reportedly targeted a group of armored vehicles and troops of the SAA at the Baghdad checkpoint northeast of the al-Seen military airport with a VBIED.

The ISIS-linked news agency Amaq published photos showing Shikhs of Al-Amor tribe in Homs desert to swearing allegiance tp Abu Bakr al-Baghdad and ISIS, where it seems that ISIS is working to focus its influence and power in the Syrian desert after the large losses in Iraq, as well as work to compensate for the great shortage of human power through imposing alliances agreements on the small Bedouin tribes in the Syrian desert.

They probably have some cases of Heineken in the tent next door. :)

I love Heineken lol

These traitorous Sheikhs must be hung publically in the squares of Sukhnah and Palmyra so everyone can know what happens if you collaberate with the Daesh terrorists especially when they are on their last legs.

PZIVJ

It’s just ISUS BS propaganda. They have nothing positive to report from the front lines (which is excellent). So they have to make up stories.

Concrete Mike

I agree, or smother them in lard and torch their takfiri asses

Dude, ISIS forces themselves on them.

Ma_Laoshi

Hmm what would we do if ISIS barged into our residence with big guns, demanding our allegiance or else? Sworn allegiances in the Middle East have been known to be… flexible. Let’s try to nudge those tribes back in the right direction before going medieval on them–no shortage of factions doing the latter already.
