The Syrian army and Hezbollah have captured a number of buildings inside the Technical College at the Ramouseh Artillery Base in southwestern Aleppo. The map below depicts an alleged situation in the artillery base.

Clashes in the area:

Reports say that the pro-government forces have already covered some 20 buildings in the area and now are cleaning the northern entrance to the base.

The Syrian army and its allies have been trying to intrench themselves in the norther parts of the Ramouseh Artillery Base since last week. On August 30, they achieved a success in this  task. The cotrol of the Technical College will allow the  pro-government forces to develop successfull an advnace inside the artillery base and, as result, phisically cut off the militant corridor to eastern Aleppo.

pound them to hell!

20 buildings is devastating? Barely 10% of the base, which they’ll probably retreat from as they have done constantly in the past few weeks? Let’s wait until it sticks before we get excited.

given the amount of effort …..its a big victory…..they have to fight for every inch of ground in most cases. Not all battles are won as easily as Turkey has done in the last days, capturing half of Syria without firing single shot.

And not all battles are won as easily as the rebels too, in Southern Aleppo (on this very same territory) and in Northern Hama right now, right? Nor for the Kurds who sweep through. Only the SAA struggles to gain inches.

χρηστος

some places are difficult to capture and this depends on many factors. amount of enemy troops, weapons used, armoured vehicles, tanks etc and even entrencements and fortifications.

Aquartertoseven

Only difficult for the SAA, despite two air forces against the enemies’ none, the rebels stormed through this entire area in mere days, yet it takes weeks to gain a few buildings. Unacceptable.
