The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) have taken control over the Dahik Sharqi Mount northeast of the recently liberated town of Sukhan in the province of Homs.
The mount had been controlled by ISIS terrorists that were able to pose a threat to the northern flank of the government forces advancing along the road to Deir Ezzor.
The Doubayat gas field is another ISIS-held point that the SAA and the NDF have to re-take if they want to avoid flanking attacks of ISIS from the southern direction.
