On September 2, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies captured two new border points (169 and 170) on the border with Jordan in the southeastern Damascus desert, according to the Hezbollah media wing in Syria.
On September 3, the SAA continued advancing towards the border point 211 that is the end of Damascus governorate administrative border with Jordan. The border point 211 is located 50km south of the US-led coalition bas in al-Tanaf near the Syrian-Iraqi border.
This SAA advance confirms that the US-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) groups of Jaysh Usud al-Sharqiya and Ahmad al-Abdo Forces lied in their official statement regarding the prisoners exchange deal with the Syrian government. The FSA groups claimed that the SAA will withdrew 40km from the Syrian-Jordanian border.
This also confirms that the FSA groups were not even a side of the negotiations and the agreement was reached between the Jordanian and Syrian governments. Furthermore, this could be seen as a result of the big disagreement between the US-led coalition leadership and the FSA groups in al-Tanaf base.
