Syrian Army Captures New Positions From ISIS North Of Al-Qaryatayn Town

A screenshot from the video

On October 19, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies captured al-Marymla area and its mountains north of al-Qaryatayn town in the southern Homs countryside, according to the Hezbollah media wing in Syria.

The media added that Russian attack helicopters were supporting the SAA advance.

Syrian pro-government sources claimed that one of ISIS commanders in al-Qaryatayn town, Basam al-Dakhil (also known as Abu Abdullah Basha’ar) was killed by the SAA during the clashes north of the town.

Meanwhile, Syrian opposition activists said that ISIS is forcing all civilians to stay inside their houses without providing them food or medicine. The activists also said that Syrian warplanes resumed its airstrikes against ISIS around the town.

So far, ISIS managed to slow down the SAA advance, mainly because many of ISIS fighters inside al-Qaryatayn town are originally from it, and know it very well. However, ISIS will for sure lose the battle for the town fully encircled by government troops.

Keep mopping them up!

Why are they losing so much time and energy on such insignificant booties for the Syrian people? The real price is oil and gas. Those are the only things that can feed the Syrian people, provide them with work and help the Syrian state rise up on its feet again.

You can guard the installations and fight ISIS. You can kill ISIS and then guard the installations.

None prized their country better than a Syrians.

The Russian aerospace support looks really poor…only two helicopters and without planes supports, that is the reason why SAA motion is so slow. Russia has the capability to give much more support.

Qaryatayn taking this much time is a military disgrace and a sigh of imcompetence. Not only on an excutive level, second or third rate troops, but is imo also a reflection on SAA command.

That’s because all the Syrian crack troops are either up north keeping an eye on Al Qaida in Idlib, or in the Deir Ezzor area, trying to prevent your favorite Kurds from snatching the Omar oil fields. I’m sure that if the SDF weren’t making their landgrab the SAA could divert some crack troops to take this town back.

Like your civilian killing Kurds sorry they hold life sacred.

ISIS is using human shields, that’s the real reason why things are going slow.

Behold a Pale Horse

Some of the worst soldiers in the World. All we ever see is fat men hiding behind earth barriers wildly firing in the air at nothing.

No movement, no tactics, no objectives. No wonder ISIS took over their country.
