On Sunday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) Tiger Forces captured the Thurdah mountains including the mount 1, the mount 2 and the mount 3 south of Deir Ezzor city, according to Hezbollah media wing in Syria.

The Thurdah mountains are the heights position that overlook Deir Ezzor city and Deir Ezzor Airport.

According to the Hezbollah media wing, Deir Ezzor Airport is now fully secured and will be fully operational again as soon as possible.

So far, the SAA has captured 4,000 km2 around Deir Ezzor city, and it’s expected that SAA will begin its attack on ISIS-held districts inside Deir Ezzor city in the coming days.

ISIS took control of the Thurdah mountains on September 16, 2016 after US-led coalition warplanes conducted airstrikes on SAA positions in the area. The US-led coalition airstrikes killed over 100 SAA soldiers and injured 100 others. Moreover, the airstrikes destroyed almost a half of SAA tanks in Deir Ezzor city.

The US-led coalition claimed back then that the attack was an accident. Moreover, the US-led coalition said that it didn’t recognize the SAA positions because some SAA soldiers were wearing civilian clothes. Warplanes from US, UK, Denmark and Australia participated in the attack.

Excellent stuff – with thardar back in SAA hands moves can now saftely be made Nth and South of Deir Ezzor. On the Airstrike it was 2 x F16s and 2 x A-10 Thunderbolts ie US Airforce, the idiodic proclaiming by allied nations to remove heat from the US airforce and scramble & missdirect the geo political response from Russia and Syria indicate that indeed it was a pre meditated move. Australia doesnt have either of these aircraft.

You can call me Al

You will however have the F-35 in a few decades.

FlorianGeyer

Yes, that’s how much the US snake Oil Salesmen love their ‘ vassals ‘. They make their partners in crime an offer they cannot refuse :)

You can call me Al

Did you know that for most Countries, local maintenance of the F-35 is not allowed, so they have to be shipped back to the US of 1 of the few regional shops Worldwide. The hardware cost is astronomical, but the maintenance is madness and very regular.

FlorianGeyer

I did not know. I had read that US mechanics , or technicians as they like to call them selves now, were a mandatory part of the deal. Flying them back to the US will not be viable , so perhaps Amazon Prime or Fed Ex will deliver them :)

They will not be much use in s shooting war then :)

You can call me Al

It gets worse….. ENJOY. On the last link, there are some other good links.

You could not make this stuff up.

FlorianGeyer

Its similar to the scam that has become prevalent in recent years of paying a fee to buy a ticket or borrow money etc. This ‘maintenance ‘ scam is all part or the ‘Added Value’ that companies like to boost their profits with.

The circa 50 hours of very expensive ‘technician’ ( monkeys paid peanuts and that get charged out for cartloads loads of money) maintenance per hour of flight is hilarious.

dutchnational

Turkey was supposed to become one of those centers. Likely this will not happen anymore. Israel as an alternative?

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

The difference is the though the F-35 is a multi country investment and not wholly a US adventure.

FlorianGeyer

Indeed, although the word ‘ investment’ might well be preceded by ‘ failed and very expensive ‘ :)

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

The F-35 is a money pit like to expensive , but the cost of giving the Israelis the jets was added in, so not really free.

FlorianGeyer

It was just another Meal Deal for Jews. :)

Serious

When will cross the Euphrates river ???? Or the goal is just to take what USA can’t take ????

Joe Doe

SAA should have enough forces to go 3 direction. North of DZ, SOuth of DZ and cross the Euphrates river and advance in ester part of the cross the Euphrates river

Serious

Stop the SDF rats. SAA should have cross that f…. river to stop SDF from going south. But someone doesn’t want that to happen. Just like someone didn’t want to go to Al Bab.

I think there is a deal to cut Syria like Korea in the past.

G Jetson

The SAA need to secure a landing platform so that supplies and reinforcements can be delivered quickly.

Joe Doe

Yes, but SAA will have to also cross the Euphrates river to secure the Airport from East. Usually 35 km buffer zone is needed for Transport Airplane to land safe.

Serious

I don’t understand why you are talking about that. SDF did cross the river. So, why can’t you do it ??? There is no will to cross the river.

Joe Doe

SAA has to cross Euphrates river and continue East

Rob

ISIS crossed the Euphrates river because US and Co helped them but if SAA and allies want to cross the river then US and Co will air strike them. US are the mother of terrorists.

Serious

USA is smarter. They have prevented SAA to take the airbase north of DZ. Why don’t you think about that before and reach that airbase before USA ???

Spent to much time in Aleppo trap. While SAA was fighting for Aleppo, USA was advancing.

Somethnig doesn’t smell good.

Bru

I think Syria should make a huge airdrop to cut the invading Kurds.

You can call me Al

No not yet. Stop the SDF first or at least show a huge intention to stop them. As mentioned in a previous comment wipe out the few remaining scum in Syrian held areas, is of upmost importance now + give the tired troops a few days rest – then in a few days, get the air forces out and obliterate, before sending the awake and lively astute troops in to the West.

The engineering corps. are coming with the bridges as we speak.

The Omar field must be priority.

Joe Doe

I am not sure how you can stop SDF without crossing the river and let the SAA rest. I would agree that SAA troops need rest, but to stop SDF the advances need to be continue east

You can call me Al

Air assaults.

Joe Doe

This will not work. SAA should cross the river to cut SDF advances. SAA should have enough manpower and military hardware to go 3 direction. North of DZ, SOuth DZ and East cross the river

G Jetson

With the mountain secured, planes can land at Deir Ezzor airport without being a missile target.

Will get a lot of supplies and reinforcement delivered by planes.

The SAA can be quickly reinforced and then move to secure all the oil fields (hope there is enough time).

You can call me Al

The Omar field is the most important left. Russia should talk to the SDF / Kurds first and if they do not comply, take them out.

What an incredible few days.

Joe Doe

SAA should cross the river and secure the Oil fields

You can call me Al

But the troops must be knackerd. A few sorties would not go amiss though to take out the advancing columns.

Remember the Yanks stated that the SAA + allies could not cross the Euphrates – lets see what happens !!.

Personally I think the Yanks and their crooked nose friends bit off a little more than they expected. Well I hope so.

Joe Doe

Yanks saying many things. SAA should cross the Euphrates and secure the Oil fields.

G Jetson

No, it was one of the YPG commanders relaying what the US commander told him in their meeting. The US commander never actually utter those words.

It could be the YPG commander stretching the truth about his conversation with the US commander, in order to scare off the SAA advance.

The truth is, they are racing as fast as they could to secure it for themselves.

You can call me Al

Let us see then. I the to say, but I have all faith is the Syrians and Russians, Hezbollah and Iran + allies.

dutchnational

You are correct in this, just like the SAA was racing while the SDF was advancing on Raqqah. A bit of competion sometimes works wonders for all involved. Without it, maybe the SAA was now fighting in Idlib.

Carol Binkley

Remember the Yanks are “American-Stupid”.

You can call me Al

Fair play.

dutchnational

Small problem here. If you look at the (SF) maps, you can see that the SAA does not control the river banks as IS does both the nort and the south side (east and west if you prefer). SDF, after taking the Industrial Zone yesterday, was then some 5 kms from the north (or east) bank and there is (or was) just one village between their point and the river bank. They already cut the Hwy 7.

There is a very small piece of the river bank under control of SAA, but I do not know if that piece is suited to building temporary bridges and IS will have fire control over the construction site. Building a bridge under active mortar fire is mostly create heavy lossess to the engeneering company (ies). Then there is the small matter of having enough fresh troops available to create and hold a bridgehead.

Once SAA has done that, they will be surrounded by SDF troops on all sides, just beyond the waiting IS. So, imo, not likely. But if SAA does want to try, nobody is stopping, or trying to, them, except for IS of course.

The next two or three days max will tell what actually will happen.

PZIVJ

The Omar fields will have to wait. They are 40KM away (NE of Mayadin), but SDF can be cut off at the main river road if SAA can cross with enough strength in time. That’s a big if.

Carol Binkley

Can’t get any better!!

swirlydragon

Obama must be crying right now lol News like this makes me think that Syria still can win after all :)

Joe Doe

Assad should also assemble legal team and asset damage to the SYrian and Syrian people the war cost the country. After the assessment Syrian government should sue countries that support and participate destry Syria. First I would sue those countries before Syria Courts. then they should reciprocate to other countries they have agreement or work on such agreement. Such as Russia, China, IRAN, India, Qatar etc.

Serious

Syrians have been betrayed by syrian sunnis and by Russia. Now, look at the consequences.

VeeNarian (Yerevan)

Syria is now a free and proud country, once again, thanks to its brave people, leader Assad, SAA, Russia, Iran, Hezbollah and the Sunni Palestinians. As a British Indian Hindu I am proud of free and secular Syria. Well done, Syria! Now, you can hide in your jihadist hole again!

Serious

Syrians have lost half of their lands and millions people lifes. So, please dont tell stupid things.

VeeNarian (Yerevan)

The Syrian people had to face the combined power of US/EU/NATO/GCC/Israel gang and the head-choppers from 100 countries. The victory had to be bought at tremendous cost to lives and property but they did not submit. Wow!!!

Serious

Russia like to please the west. Sunnis like to kill their own people. So, don’t be too suprised.

FlorianGeyer

Serious, it is also true to say that Christians have killed millions of Christians etc. The writing is on the wall for you to be seriously caught up in an American Civil War and learn the true horrors on internecine conflict . That will be serious Serious. For you anyway.

I frankly care little and will watch with some popcorn.

Serious

The American Civil War was internal. I didn’t see some Americans fighting xwith the russians to be occupied par Russia after. Sorry, wrong analogy.

FlorianGeyer

Any future US civil war will rather obviously be ‘internal’. Arguably the US has been fracturing along ideological lines for a few years now. There several triggers that would ignite a conflict in the US, so I do have hope :)

Serious

I don’t think so. The USA can’t be invaded. So, the US regime will exist for long time. To defeat USA, you must flood USA with third world people.

FlorianGeyer

The US has already been invaded by the Zionist Neo Liberals who have been enslaving Americans One Debt at a Time for decades.

FlorianGeyer

Without Russia’s courageous help Syria would have under the control of American / Israeli pet terrorists by now and the Hook Noses of Saudi Arabia and Israel would be plundering Syria as their reward.

Serious

Well done Syrians. You have destroyed your country. Very well done.

VeeNarian (Yerevan)

Now Syria will be re-built as free and civilized country free from head-choppers.

Serious

You give sunnis a country and they destroy it. After, they cry about oppression. XD.

VeeNarian (Yerevan)

What a load of total rubbish. Syria is free, unlike your slave state.

Serious

Sunnis are just stupid. I’m done with people that defend them them. They are garbage and they always destroy what they have. That’s why they are loosing everywhere.

VeeNarian (Yerevan)

What is this Sunni v Shia rubbish? The Syrian victory is a victory for ALL civilized people all over the world. Rejoice! Rejoice!! Rejoice!!!

Serious

Who are the “rebels” ?????

VeeNarian (Yerevan)

The rebels are US/EU/NATO/GCC/Israel financed and armed jihadists.

Serious

The “rebels” are all sunnis. Why ? Because they are very very very stupids. They are so stupid that they can destroy their country for nothing.

Michael Wiesinger

Let the US/EU/NATO/GCC/Israel finance some Sikh, Buddhist, Daoist or whosoever in order to attack Yazidis, Christians, Jews, Atheists etc.

It just won’t work with a belief that excludes head-chopping prophets as idols.

Serious

SAA has only one choice now. the choice that they didn’t want to choose because they were scared of USA. Once the useful idiots ISIS has been destroyed, attack SDF for having illegally stolen syrian lands.

VeeNarian (Yerevan)

Time for the US to leave or they will be thrown out.

Serious

Who will make them withdrax ????? They even entered illegally and nobody said a thing.

VeeNarian (Yerevan)

Have you heard of the Syrian people, Assad and their army, SAA? They have made it clear that they will liberate ALL of Syria. It really is time for the US to go home. They have done enough damage.

Serious

Talking is cheap. You don’t do what you say but you do what you can do.

VeeNarian (Yerevan)

Remind me, when was Assad suppose to go? He has done what the US/EU/NATO/GCC/Israel gang said could not be done.

Serious

Destroy their planes.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

When ISIS is done and they remain in the region as an illegal entity they can lose their UN security council seat. That would be more than enough incentive to leave Syria as it’s not worth the cost of the seat.

Admiral_Moorer_believed

Let me see.

Tne US access to Syria is through either Turkey or Iraq. . .

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

You would be surprised by that even Israel can’t manage to maintain the facade any longer. They themselves are crumbling and the dream of remaking the Khazar empire is coming to an end.

FlorianGeyer

I think the SAA strategy will be a wee bit more nuanced than that.

You seem locked into the American way of unthinking violence with no thought of the ‘after’.

bcbingram

I wouldn’t trust the US led coalition, they seem to make mistakes that align with ISIS.

PZIVJ

EXCELLENT NEWS! SAA has the heights back, and rather quickly too. JOB WELL DONE https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/fd9199ccb3d84152fc1466e80d2e450b602af628842894aa6f2c8ac3f6adaed3.png

You can call me Al

The Golan heights will be in a few weeks as well. Sweet.

VeeNarian (Yerevan)

Wow, simply wow! Up yours, the cowards and head-chopper lovers in the military and government of US, UK, Denmark and Australia. In memory to the brave heroes that died at the hands of the disgusting “people” from these US/EU/NATO/GCC/Israel 600 nation massive coalition that only fed ISIS. Congratulations to Deir-Ez-Zor, Syria and all the allies!

Serious

Attach SDF when they are weak. Don’t wait for 5 years. You destroy ISIS. And then, you attack SDF. You say that SDF is USA-backed invaders and that SDF was never elected. Kurds have stolen lands and SAA will retake them. Then you attack SDF and you bomb all the shit out of them.

Serious

Tomorrow, 9/11, international day of lies.

Ronald

Considering how that mountain was lost , it must feel extremely good today for the real good SAA !

Now , a hop over the river , a beachhead and some bridges , and the oilfields !

Serious

I don’t know. Expell all the sunnis and throw them into the sea. Syria will always been weak with stupid people like sunnis.

FlorianGeyer

About 60% of the SAA is Sunni. The ones that supported ISIS were often from the rural areas that suffered in the drought before the insurrection. They are generally less well educated as well.

G Jetson

The YPG have had a good run – looks like they had a nice drive across the desert in their vehicles.

If you watch their videos, the soldiers’ uniform are clean and there is no dust on their faces.

Compare that to the local or the SAA forces.

My personal opinion is that the ISIS have gathered most of its forces to fight SAA at Deir Ezzor and left wide open spaces for the YPG to drive into.

Time could be against the SAA forces in trying to secure the Omar field.

Serious

It’s very simple. USA created ISIS and the leaders of ISIS are working for USA. So, USA give instructions and the leaders tell their stupid sunnis braindead to transport their ass in that region or in that region.

FlorianGeyer

My God, we agree twice in one day. This is getting serious Serious :)

Serious

So you also agree that sunnis are stupid because they die for isis leaders that work for USA, whose leaders are airlifted and let the stupid fight.

FlorianGeyer

I do not agree that all members of a race or religion are ‘stupid ‘ Serious. The extreme religious cults are nearer the mark where the foot soldiers are often poorly educated with a low IQ. Their leaders though are mostly well educated with a high IQ, evil as they may or may not be.

For example, I personally dislike what some Jews and Zionists do. That is not to say that all those born as a Jew are evil and corrupt. I also dislike what some Christians, Hindu’s , Sun Worshippers et al do.

When a state or political group demonises an ethnic , political or religious group they dislike with vicious propaganda , there is a risk of a genocide. The US is walking along this dark road today.

You are actually living history Serious. In fact you may even be able to realise some of your strategy and tactics in real life :)

Serious

Sunnis are the only group in the world that are killing themselfs for foreigners sake. I don’t know what sunnis don’t like about Bachar Al Assad. If they don’t like him, they ask for elections. But, sunnis don’t respect sunnis. They just want power to have power. So, it makes sunnis the only people on earth that are killing themselfs for nothing.

FlorianGeyer

Funnily enough Serious there is a similar situation with the US and NATO countries who are willing to send their mostly Christian soldiers onward into battle in the Middle East for the benefit of another country. That vampire country is of course is Israel that is built on theft and corruption.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

The Mestarivem work for Israel as they are a section of from the MOSSAD and receive their orders from Avi Leiberman the defense minister, who also controls the Army. These stupid Sunnis were high priced mercenaries , the US,UK,France and Israel stole the assets of Libya to fund this war over 250 billion in funds.

TheSecular

Having to Use the Deir Ez Zor airport again is not only good news for the SAA but also good news for the Russian Air Force as well. Having to use the base without getting shot at will provide more air support for the ground troops and could also allow more aid to flow into the city which has already been 70 % liberated from the Islamic State.

You can call me Al

They can secure it with artillery and sorties. Consolidate, take the pockets out in the West which will then free up more troops.

I have all faith with the SAA and the Russians, Hezbollah and Iran + allies not to rush and all into a trap.

I am sorry, but I disagree with you and almost all others; 1 week and I shall agree with you.

TheSecular

I could be wrong, I could be right. I don’t know. Time will tell.

You can call me Al

Same with me.

I wish I had written that comment.

Rob

To secure Deir Ezzor city SAA and allies would have to cross Euphrates river to capture its East side. Otherwise that airport and whole city is insecure. At least there should be 60KM buffer zone around Deir Ezzor city.

dutchnational

Like around Damascus?

Rafik Chauhan

good . now its the time for the saa to cross the river and advance towards city of as suwar aloung the rive khubar to cut the SDF SCUM. ALMAYDEEN AND MADAN IS ALSO BE THE TARGET AT SAME TIME

Redadmiral

Great News. SAA and their allies have executed a tremendous feat by capturing the Thurdah Mountain range. The re-branded terrorists now identified as SDF was cobbled together in late 2015 when the US backed FSA had ceased existing 18 months earlier. The “new” Syrian Democratic Front, was set up in order to try and prevent the Syrian Army from attaining outright victory over the terrorist groups which had been supported by Saudi, Qatar and the US. This new grouping has been receiving substantial funding, training and intelligence support from the US as well as on the ground thinking from their illegal expeditionary force. It has also become apparent that when ISIL/ISIS/Daesh units are encircled by Syrian Government Forces, their US paid commanders are Air-lifted out and incorporated into the “new democratic front”. This group is comprised of; 20/30 former FSA commanders, along with defeated ISIS Arab mercenaries and Kurdish Forces,. The Kurds were coerced into joining, insofar as the US guaranteed they would stop the imminent Turkish invasion of their Syrian redoubt and homeland.

John

It’s all over but for the ISIS crying. The Syrian Army will take back all its territory including the Golan heights. It is just a matter of time. Netanyahu sits on the toilet all day long–and so he should. Palestine and Gaza will be liberated from that baby killer and his cowardly mob that is known as the Israeli Army. The world watches and is astonished at the perseverance of the Syrian army and its allies in standing against all the USI ( The United States of Israel) threw at it. Nit-and-Yaoo needed to lose a lot of weight. He will be able to run faster when HezbuLlah comes to personally visit him, BUT HE WILL PROBABLY STILL BE SITTING ON THE TOILET PURGING HIS BRAINS–BECAUSE THAT IS WHERE HIS BRAINS ARE . . .

Thegr8rambino

AHHAHAHAAH YES, ITS HIS TURN NEXT!!!! SAA will come for him :)))

Michael Wiesinger

Apparently the Kurds will need more partners than only the USA io to survive as a state/reach independency. Trump made clear that the only US-interest in Syria is the extermination of ISIS, so there will be things to explain when the US activities there will continue.

So the Kurds need more partners, or they will be smashed by a strange alliance of Erdogan, Assad, Khomenei and the Iraqis, as each of them refuses to allow a Kurdistan inside his borders. So if the Kurds are aware of that, they will seek for a partner, and my expectations are high, that they will try to convince Assad (so to regain Russian support as well).

Serious

Who trust Trump ??? Nobody.

No need for extra support. USA suffices. Just look how israel doesn’t need any extra support.

You can call me Al

They do now. Europe has turned against them.

Rodney Loder

US has to assert itself, like I said when the US had to pivot to Asia, Trump has to decide where his priorities lie, Obama was dragged into Libya by Britain and France, their Brotherhood operations were about to fail as Gadaffi was marching on Misrata and Benghazi without opposition, Deir Ezzor is the same proposition, but the US is much weaker and israel has to beg allowance for minor indiscretions the jews now have to comfort themselves only by running over Palestinian kids in the street, my guess is Trump is excreting bricks, Kerry is famous for telling the story about how there are plenty of helpers wanting to hold your coat, if Trump obliges israel then melt down of the USD is guaranteed, it will have to be Kurdistan or bust. FSA fraticide thanks to Turkey will exert massive influence on the situation, just like 3 years ago the leadership of IS realised that Zawahiri was the closest enemy. Now, ! will IS respond like they did SEP.16/16, no and for the same reasons that applied to the split with al-Qa’ed, Zawahiri had lost all appeal for recruitment, IS will go with the Turkish Moderates same as me, it will be a long fight but the USD will not survive, and my job is to support Uncle Un, he makes me feel very proud.

You can call me Al

No – Britain and France were dragged into Libya.

We are no allies of the US, we are unfortunately bullied ars3 lickers due to economic pressure.

April 20, 2010 ……….BP Gulf oil spill (the one where Obama called BP “British Petroleum” WITH EMPHESIS).

9 March 2011 ……… 2011 military intervention in Libya

and so on and so on. If we could stand up to the Yanks militarily, we would.

Rodney Loder

The British Parliament saved Syria at the time of the Mediterranean stand off, but Arab Spring was organised and put into operation after israel was humiliated in Lebanon. I understand Arab Spring in the context of two revealing events, the first when Mohammed Bouazizi was slapped in the face by a woman official , jews obviously paid her and then mind controlled Bouazizi to buy the petrol ect. Ben Ali had his picture taken with Bouazizi before he died and then immediately left the country all this happened in a couple of months, his Gov was not in any kind of serious confrontation, it was a sham. The second telling event happened 2 months after that, Dominique Strauss-‘Khan hit the high life using toothpaste to hide the smell his suction lips leaving the toothpaste as a dead giveaway. The IMF went bad after Bretton Woods, in 2007 Dominique Strauss-‘Khan was made Chief and under his leadership by 2010 IMF only had 10b in outstanding loans, all of a sudden that increased to 84b with 250 b agreed to loans, Resources never dreamed of arrived and with it demands for new leadership, Dominique Strauss-‘Khan wanted to go easy on Greece but the mood was much more aggressive, so the jew Telepathic experts sent him around the twist, same as Bouazizi. The new Resources were made available because the US became aware that Fracking would make them a top oil producer and exporter, the Middle East was left in the care of Britain and France, and their plan was to use the Brotherhood as the new auxiliary force to stir the pot when needed, israel had become unable to operate effectively. But like in Vietnam France at least failed and had to call on Big Brother when Gadaffi fought didn’t run, maybe Britian was not as guilty, Tunisia was French, but Egypt was British.

You can call me Al

Interesting stuff, thanks.

Rodney Loder

Any time.

EmilyEnso

David Cameron and Theresa May have been and are enthusiastic supporters of ISIS and opposed to President Assad. They tried to force through an attack on Damascus and thankfully the British parliament stopped them. The second try succeeded and British aerial attacks were attacking Syrian assets not ISIS. May has had British military on the ground in Syria with no parliamentary approval at all…. They with Tony Blair should all be before a war crimes tribunal. In fact May and Cameron crossed the floor of the House of Commns with their mates and forced through the vote for the illegal attack on Iraq when Blair’s party rebelled. Cameron and May – both ardent globalists – are warmongers of the worst kind.
