Late on August 14, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) resumed its ground operations west of the town of Khan Shaykhun in southern Idlib and managed to capture two new villages.
According to pro-government sources, army units secured the villages of Umm Zaytunah and Kafr Tab under the cover of heavy Russian and Syrian airstrikes.

Earlier, the SAA reached the western entrance of Khan Shaykhun after imposing control of the villages of Kafr Ayn, Tall Aas, Khirbat Murshid and Mantar. More than 45 radical militants were reportedly killed during the clashes in these four villages.
By advancing towards Khan Shaykhun, the army is working to besiege the remaining positions of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham and its allies in northern Hama.
SAA troops are now only 4km away from Khan Shaykhun’s center. The assault on the town could begin soon, according to pro-government activists.
Well done SAA. Teaching critics and non believers a valuable lesson while sending rats to hell.

The head-choppers (and US/Turkish backers) put all that hard work into fortifying Morek for the mother of all battles, and the SAA ignores it for now. Damn you, Assad! I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the same thing happens to Khan Shaykhun. Head-choppers are probably fleeing from Morek and Latmanah to Khan Shaykhun to make a secondary stand. That would be great if the SAA kept going northeast from Kafr Tab to cut off the M5, putting Khan Shaykhun in the cauldron along with Morek and Latmanah. Then the rat-bake begins.

Has the SAA discovered a good way to get rid of the Turks in Hama, just surround the OB post and isolate it from everyone else, what are the Turks going to do then, they’ll have no purpose to be there anymore. Hopefully this tactic will be repeated on every Turkish OB post in Syria.
