Syrian Army Clashing With ISIS In Jaffrah On Western Bank Of Euphrates. Will Army Cross River?

mod.gov.sy

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA), Hezbollah and their allies are advancing against  ISIS in the area of Jaffrah located on the western bank of the Euphrates River near Deir Ezzor Airport.

Jaffrah is one of the key remaining ISIS strong points near Deir Ezzor Airport. If government troops are able to fully secure it, they will further tighten siege on ISIS units inside the  northern part of Deir Ezzor city and to set a foothold for a possible operation to corss the Euphrates River.

It looks that ISIS commanders understand this. This is why the terrorist group strongly opposes to the SAA advance in the area.

Map shows a possible SAA operation aimed at crossig the Euphrates River:

Despite some reports that the SAA is not going to cross the Euphrates River. It’s unlikely that the idea is abandoned by the Syrian-Iranian-Russian alliance. The full liberation of Deir Ezzor city will take a notable time that will be used by ISIS in order to strenthen their positions in al-Bukamal and in the nearby areas. Furthermore, the US-led coalition will likely use this to take control of important sites on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River, including the Omar oil fields.

This is why government forces continue preparations for a possible river crossing operation. There is also a chance that SAA units, backed up by the Russian military, will conduct an air landing operation behind ISIS lines. A similar operation it was already done near El-Kder in August and resulted in a significant success against ISIS in the provinces of Homs and Raqqah.

Photos allegedly show preparations of government forces to corss the Euphrates River near Jaffrah. Some sources say that they are already on the eastern bank, but this has to be confirmed:

I hope they do cross the river and start securing their oil fields and repel the American Rebels.

Attrition47

It all depends on what the Kurds want out of it and whether they will ditch the Washingto Barbarians to get a decent deal with Assad; that’s what the rumblings of the zionists are about, they want the Kurds to stick with Trumpo and commit national suicide by antagonising the Sultan, the Iraqis, Iranians and Syrians at the same time. Naturally, the zionists are the puppets of Washington, same as always. Bastards

Kell

Yes the Afrin Kurds who are dealing with Syria and the Russians are being looked after, they dont really have a choice though, only the ones in the East have had the chance to go full retard and thats exactly what they are doing – i suspect there are wider geopolitical moves afoot in the region to deal with them from some powerful forces, perhaps they are being allowed to go full theiving parasite retard for a reason, so the whole world can see and justify whats coming next, ironically the Afrin Kurds might be the only ones left standing under Russian/Syrian protection haveing been the only Kurdish group to have acted in good faith.

George King

I suspect an exodus of the thieves with their booty will look much like the elimination of the oil thieves convoys, toast. Maybe a check point/s of exit with only your boots you are wearing is possible. Remember ISIS could not sell their oil thefts without the co-operation of the Kurds who were doing the same thefts and profit.

Muriel Kuri

No, Washington is a vassal of Israel, which runs it’s foreign policy for Israel’s benefit.

Attrition47

No, that’s a myth so that American Caesar can blame the contractor.

It’s more like Wahhabi extremists, Andrew. The local Arab warlords the US ‘hired’ for the push south were ISIS/al Nusra last year. The US trained and equipped them (and bribed their leaders), but those tribal leaders would not have made a move without Saudi approval. They want to be part of a greater Sunnistan the Saudis are trying to create. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/cc171a67bd05d47feb56749f8d1c842535e8ec289071e12e3a24179b81d37eac.jpg

They are more than that go read Anarchist brigades on Voltaire.net .org very interesting read by Theirry Meyssan , gives you a bigger picture and understanding who are really at play.

Pave Way IV

Meyssan always has great articles. And just like SouthFront: if YouTube censors you, then you’re doing something right.

Meyssan is only talking about how the ‘Kurdish Project’ is unfolding. There is a completely independent effort aimed at Syrian/Iraqi Sunnis (mostly Saudi and UAE-backed) where the Saudi-funded control religion and death cult called Wahhabism has been exported/imposed on them. The larger Saudi/UAE (and Israeli) goal is to destroy any Shia influence in Syria and Iraq via Wahhabism – and that goal is part of a larger Saudi/UAE effort to destroy their most hated enemy: Iran. Some Syrian/Iraqi Sunnis seem to go along with it, but some Arab tribes (Shammar in the above diagram) know exactly what the Saudi/UAE royals are doing and they mortally despise them for that reason. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that the Shammar tribe marches down to Riyadh soon and annihilates the House of Saud and the disease called Wahhabism.

My only beef with Messan’s European Anarchists piece is that he manages to write the entire thing without mentioning the Kurdish PYD party in Syria even once. They were compromised by the CIA in the same manner as the YPG. Everything the PYD does is orchestrated by it’s own little CIA-controlled deep-state. The only thing the outside world sees is a slick marketing campaign for these modern-day Kurdish Bolsheviks. The usurped PYD is as evil as Wahhabism.

Bookchin’s ‘municipalism’ is a perfect fit for the US/Israeli/Saudi plan to reduce the Middle East into dozens of much smaller, powerless little states based on ethnicity, tribes and religion. Can you imagine a state of any size being run by committees of committees of committees? Hell, that doesn’t even work at the local level here. I’ll pay attention to Bookchin when he describes how municipalism is magically immune to being taken over by psychopaths just like every other -ism. His work is academically interesting, but useless in the real world.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Many forget that the PKK and PYD are synonymous with one another as the Ocalan’s son runs the PYD .Messan said Kurds in a general term as they all seem to be employed as tools against Arabs by the US/UK, France and Israel along with the GCC. they all seem to have an agenda to keep the region in chaos.

Global war on “terrorism”

In 1980s, the United States and Israel created the concept of “international terrorism” to discredit the national liberation movements, accusing them of being tentacles of the Soviet beast. After the September 11 attacks, responsibility for quashing terrorism was taken away from the police and shifted to the military domain. For the Anglo-American ruling class, the “war against terrorism” had been envisaged as a means of affirming its control over trade routes (free maritime and air circulation), but it served the Bush administration and the Zionist movement to cloak their mistimed colonial adventures (Palestine, Afghanistan, Irak).

The same concept is used by the West to justify the setting up of an Orwellian surveillance society and by the Shangai Cooperation Organisation (Russia, China) to stymie the intrusion of the nomadic populations of Central Asia and to stabilise them by force.

Kell

Its sort of frustrating I mean most of us here except Oy Vey Dutchnational and Oy Vey jens knew the Kurds were going to go and try to steal the oil fields – if we all knew why didnt the Russians? Unless of course Puti Pute wants the world to see the Kurds “true colors” before they are dealt with in a wider geopolitical action with Iran, Turkey, Iraq etc. Still frustrating to see the Russians seemingly continually dupped but hopefully its because Putins playing 4D chess and we are simply only seeing the actions several moves behind – still frustrating though.

Spectator

Good analysis!

MeMadMax

Oh, putin knows whats going on. He’s got his troops embedded with the kurds in the west, north of aleppo…

Something doesn’t pass the smell test here. And the stink is either coming from the kurds or the russians…

dutchnational

Sectarian rantings do not make facts.

Acts make facts.

How can the kurds steal an oilfield that partly, as in their being part of Syria, belongs to them too?

Do the oilfields belong to Assad? No, he is just one Syrian, so entitled to 1/16 million of the field.

Do they belong to SAA? No, they are just 100.000 or so, so they have a small share.

Share is the key word. In the Assad days, the oilfields were not shared with the peoples of north-eastern Syria. All the money went to the big cities, to the small clique of Assad’s cronies and none of the money went into developing the north east.

SDF will make sure that at least of the money will be invested in the north east.

Kell

Lol you could seriously pass for jewish, so your tearful reasoning is that the Kurds who want an independent state were once considered Syrian so that gives them the right to steal whatever parts of Syria they like that will no longer be Syrian after they declare their state? Colonialism much – I thought you said the Kurds were good and only wanted autonomy in Kurdish areas, even when some of us predicted this would happen you cried wailed and bemoaned the fact that the kurds were oppressed etc etc etc and they would never do such a thing, well they did and we knew the would. You are justifing theft, Colonialism and suppression of Arab majorities by Kurdish Minorities, be a pawn of israel at your peril!

RichardD

Trying to reason with the ziotrolls is a waste of time. They’re here to flood the threads with their lies and support for Jew crime and evil. All that you can do is expose it for what it is.

Graeme Rymill

“Flood the threads”? lol

32 comments so far and only one from a pro-Kurd or two if you count mine.

RichardD

What they’re here to do and what they actually get away with are two different things. They don’t do well without gerrymandered moderation in their favor. When truth, evidence and facts are permitted without suppression. The hasbara propagandists are quickly exposed for the frauds that they are.

dutchnational

They do not like their rants interrupted by facts and reason.

Not my problem.

dutchnational

I was going to react but this piece of shit left me almost speechless,

So I’ll just say : Whatever pal, suit yourself as you are beyond reason.

Attrition47

The Assade regime are the cynics and the Kurds the victims? Do me a lemon.

MeMadMax

Kurds are from IRAN, not syria. The assyrians have a higher “claim” at that territory than the kurds do…

Thats why the kurds mass murder assyrians as much as they can…

Hey, this sounds just like another place I’ve heard of. Poor Shia live around filthy oil and gas production facilities far away from the big cities. They slave away to produce billions for some rich al Saud clique in Riyahd. The al Saud clique doesn’t share much of its wealth with the little people, especially Shia. I guess they did throw a little development money at the Shia in al-Awamiyah, but that was mostly to raze their village and mosque to the ground in order to build a new kibbutz or shopping mall or something – as long as it was non-Shia.

We should regime-change that place.

dutchnational

KSA is a filthy sectarian, female hating country, ruled by a corrupt family clique.

They might not last a decade if they had not bought most of the population with lots of money and by paid off clerics.

Brother Ma

Touche pave way!

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Why do you continue to support people who commit genocide and mass murders is it because your duped friends are there. They have a lot of Anarcho-Communists from all over the world there especially foreign Arab groups among them. Generally speaking a Nations resources are owned by a country and not some despotic Krypto-Jews who kill and terrorize because they are under US control as the PKK have always been.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Assad you idiot is the recognized president of Syria, so yes they are acting like thieves by negotiating illegally with the US and other nations. That does make them land grabbing and oil stealing thieves , just like they used foreigners like you to change the name of Ain al Araby to Kobane which the former means Well of Arabs.

Keep your shameless lies to yourself and learn some facts and not some biased sourced material like wikipedia the “Porn King’s”site and pro US sites just like Jimmy Wales is also.

Brother Ma

New constitution assad suggested includes spending money on ne syria.

Also every gov has the right to decide where monwy will be spent and why would you think kurds will share oil money with rest of syria? Does barzani kurd share oil money with rest of iraq?

Vince Dhimos

I am sure he is playing a complex game here but not sure what.

gustavo

Every body knows kurds true colors ¿ why don’t you see them ? USD is just USA-puppets right now, and nothing else. They can become in new ISIS (if USA want to ).

Joe Doe

SAA should have enough manpower and military hardware to cross the river and make advances in eost of the river and in the west of the river, after the units that have been defending DZ have been free

Daqiri

Seems like there hasn’t been so much troops in DeZ city as everyone claimed. Claims were like 10 000 – 15 000, and I was closer to 3 000 – 5 000. If you ask me now I would say there was 2 500. Syria will loose all the east Euphrates bank. Maybe they get few km2’s but thats about it. They’ll loose too much time in DeZ city.

EmilyEnso

Syria must NOT surrender the Omar oil fields. Its as good as recognising a Kurdistan and US occupation. It must recover all its territory and natural oil and gas wealth to rebuild. There will never be peace wih the US and Kurds breathing down from one side and Israel from the other. The loyal Syrian people deserve better than that.

Spectator

I was prety sure that RUAF/SAA ad alies were going to cross south of Bussayrah… Maybe they will cross there too

MD Ranix

exposing present and future zio satanic terrorists to the world will be grand …. kudos to russia for always delivering her checkmate strategy well ….. more great news to come

Jesus

Yes they are going to cross the river, mop up operations in Deir Ezzor does not impede air mobility of special forces taking key positions and ensuring protection for the bridgehead once crossing is implemented. Existing SDF positions are within the range of SAA artilery and MLRS fire, their presence is porous and lacking heavy equipment. Deploying Smerchs MLRS close to the river would reach SDF positions deep into NE Syria.

MeMadMax

If you can’t reach the omar oil fields in time then just bomb the hell out of it.

Pave Way IV

CENTCOM and CJTF-OIR has been wasting millions doing exactly that. Just look at any of the strike reports for the last year. Nearly every day, they burn through the world’s most expensive military aircraft operating hours to drop a single precision-guided bomb on a random wellhead or pump jack in the Omar fields. This supposedly deprives ISIS of oil, but the real reason is that OIR pilots don’t want to land without having dropped their bombs on something. Vietnam all over again. It’s all about ‘successful mission’ stats, not destroying ISIS.

Rafik Chauhan

SOME SOURCE SAID SAA HAS CROSSED THE RIVER . BUT EVEN IF ITS NOT CONFIRMED . SAA SHOULD CROSS RIVER ASASP AND START OPERTAION TO REACH AS SUWAR CITY. AND TAKE CONTROL LIKE THIS SDF WILL BE CUT OFF AND THEN MOVE SOUTH TOWARDS BORDER ALONG EUPHRATES RVER LINE FROM WEST AND EAST.

Vince Dhimos

The Russians need to negotiate with the US. telling them they ARE going to cross and they will make certain concessions in exchange for the help in defeating ISIS but that no foreign troops may be left in Syria after the war that were not invited there. Along with this, they need to install a few more missile batteries, such as pantsirs.

Attrition47

Well done them Syrians, Ooh-aah Hezbollah and what ho! to the GRAF.

RichardD

All BMPs are amphibious, no competent general is going to send a main force across an unabridged river without commando units being over there ahead of it preparing the battlefield: http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/coldwar/USSR/photos/PolBMP-1_crossing_water.jpg

Probably they just want to secure the airport more for quick supplies…

Rob

SAA does not need to liberate every corner of Deir Ezzor city from ISIS. SAA just need to cross Euphrates river and surround the city for at least 60KM buffer zone and then liberate desert area. The Syrian government needs to send more reinforcement of 3000 to the front in the East of Eupherites river in Deir Ezzor. You cannot win if you are not smart.

dutchnational

I share your conclusion.

John Marks

The Iraqis are now in alliance with Syria against ISIS. Perhaps they could start a drive westwards from Nineveh towards the Khabur.

gustavo

I repeat for the third consecutive day: WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR ? JUST DO IT AND STOP MAKING FOOL DECLARATIONS (crossing… no crossing… preparing… no preparing..).

Ronald

They are already across , but dis – information might be useful for the SAA right now .

RichardD

Or more likely no information.

RichardD

What’s happening and what’s being reported are two different things. Just because the front line hasn’t been pushed over the river, doesn’t mean that there’s not a lot of activity going on in enemy territory. Results are what matters, not press coverage. It’s understandable under the circumstances that Syria government press approval hasn’t been given for operations behind enemy lines.

They’ve been carrying out air strikes over there for months. And it’s a virtual certainty that with the main force marshaling at DE. That there are ground forces already on the other side of the river engaged in offensive operations preparing he basttlefield for the main force to engage the enemy. That may or may not be made public at a later date. That’s hpow these types of operations are run.

The only reporting from the SDF or msm is that the SDF came part way down a desolate desert valley with virtually no built up areas. And that their advance stalled as soon as they reached a built up area. The SDF force looks to be little more than a scouting mission and is probably only 5% the size of what the Syria government coalition is at DE. So if the Syria government coalition force behind enemy lines is only 5% of the main force. Then it’s a peer force to the SDF DE force. And should be able to deal with them until the main forces crosses the river.

Jason H. Smith

If ever there were an absolutely pivotal moment in this war, then this is it. The strategic importance of the Omar oilfields must surely be of the utmost priority to Russian military and political planners. Indeed, this is not just about their economic potential, but ultimately it is about the geopolitical integrity and long-term stability of major trading routes, which threaten Western interests and their dominance of maritime sea lanes.

Brother Ma

Please explain why trade routes would be threatened jason?

RamboDave

I am not worried about the SDF-Kurd advance. I looked at a map of the oil fields. The SDF-Kurds are not in a position to go after the Omar field. That oil is to the Southeast of Deir Ez-Zor. There is plenty of time for the SAA to get there first. However, there is another smaller oil field to the Northeast of Deir Ez-Zor, around al-Suwar city, along the other river valley. This oil field is going to be the first target of both SAA and SDF-Kurds. I think the Kurds are stalled where they are, and don’t have the necessary strength to move toward al-Suwar. The SAA is going to break through to that area faster than the Kurds.

DJ Double D

There is fear of heavy casualty on the SAA side if they ‘Air drop.’ This is the main reason why Air dropping wouldn’t happen that quick until bombers have done a pretty good job at annihilation. Meanwhile SAA still has turf battle going on before the Euphrates. All the talks of them crossing the Euphrates is disinformation aimed at disorienting the Kurds.

Cheryl Brandon

The Russian are preparing removable bridges so, this means SAA will be crossing sometime soon! To the victory SAA/Hezbollah and , I am sure Iraqi forces will also help since this is a border they both share!
