On May 13, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the Palestinian Liberation Army (PLA) continued their advance in the northern part of the al-Hajar al-Aswad district in southern Damascus and captured several buildings around the town hall from ISIS, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

The SANA added that warplanes of the Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) had destroyed many fortifications and trenches of ISIS in al-Hajar al-Aswad and the Yarmouk refugee camp, east of it.
Meanwhile, the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq claimed that ISIS fighters had conducted hit and run attacks on two positions fo the SAA in al-Hajar al-Aswad and the Yarmouk camp. ISIS fighters killed 16 soldiers and officers of the SAA and captured several weapons, according to Amaq.
Local observers believe that the SAA and its allies will impose their full control of the last positions of ISIS in the northern part of al-Hajar al-Aswad district within a few days. Once this district is secured, the ISIS defense in the Yarmouk camp will likely collapse.
