The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) deployed additional forces in the northern Hama countryside on June 8 and 9 in order to repel the ongoing attack by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its allies on the region.
Syrian sources said that reinforcements from the Russian-backed 5th Corps, the army’s 3rd and 7th Divisions had arrived in northern Hama. These forces were reportedly armed with heavy weapons, including tanks and armored vehicles.
The government-held part of northern Hama is currently under a fierce attack by HTS, Turkish-backed groups and al-Qaeda-affiliated factions. The terrorist coalition managed to capture the towns of Jibeen and Tell Meleh. However, the coalition failed to develop its advance further.

In the last two days, the SAA repelled at least three ground attacks by HTS and its allies. Despite their heavy losses, the terrorists are still determined to go on with their attack.
The deployment of these reinforcements indicates that the army is planning to put an end to the terrorists’ hostilities, likely by launching a large counter-attack.
Meanwhile Iran unveils its most modern and deadly air defence system so far….
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, Defence Minister Hatami said the system was capable of detecting fighter jets and combat drones from 150 kilometers away and of tracking them within a range of 120 kilometers.
The system, he added, can also detect stealth targets at a distance of 85 kilometers and engage and destroy them within a range of 45 kilometers.
He also said the Khordad 15 air defense system used Sayyad 3 missiles and was capable of simultaneously detecting, intercepting, and shooting down six targets, adding that it could be readied to engage hostile targets in less than five minutes.

No, Khordad 15 with a longer range and is better than Americunt Patriot. The testing location is quite telling also as it is near Tehran with snow covered mountains at the back. Today Iran unveiled it’s newest mid range air defense system dubbed “15th khordad”.
System officially delivered to army air defense force. This system has a phased array radar and uses Sayyad-2 and Sayyad-3 missiles, can track and engage with up to 6 targets simultaneously.
15th khordad is a tactical system, requires minimum number of crews and consist of a minimum of two vesicles, one vehicle for for radar (discovery and engagement) and C&C system, and one vehicle for missile launcher, preparation time is less than 5 minutes.
defense minister described it as very lethal against targets in up to 27km altitude and in range of 7km to 75km.
discovering range: 150km
tracking range: 120km
Engaging range: 75km
Discovering range against stealth targets: 85km

According to Sputnik, Russia offered Iran S-400, but was turned down as Iran will be unveiling the Bavar 373 which is similar to S-400 or Chinese LY-80 (HQ-16). I believe Iran today has some of the best fibre optic connected integrated AD in the world.

Idlib contains the hard-core of the jihadist forces (aside from ISIS), many of them western SF trained. Syrians left it last because it is the toughest battle, allowing SAA troops gather experience in the other areas first. As to the similarity to the Croats in 1995, they had US intel guiding them all the way. Now the US/NATO intel flows to the HTS and FSA making it very hard to carry out surprise attacks, encirclements or rapid advances against well fortified towns and hills. So far SAA has cleverly drawn them out to attack, but they are still a potent force capable of inflicting serious losses. This is not a walk in the park, but SAA is doing very well so far. The losses are unfortunately unavoidable and SAA know that.
There is no doubt in my mind SAA will prevail
