Jaysh al-Izza announced on May 28 that five of its fighters were killed in the northern Hama countryside by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).

The radical group didn’t provide additional details about the militants’ fate. However, opposition activists revealed that they were besieged inside a cave in the town of Kafr Nabudah.
According to the activists, the militants got trapped inside the cave when the SAA stormed the town on May 26. The army asked them to surrender. However, they refused. An attempt to free them also failed. Eventually, Syrian soldiers threw several hand grenades into the cave killing everyone inside.
Many other militants of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) were reportedly trapped in the same cave with Jaysh al-Izza fighters and shared the same fate. However, HTS, as usually, didn’t acknowledge its losses.
The incident shade some light on the heavy losses of militants in Kafr Nabudah. Earlier, ANNA released a video showing many battle tanks and vehicles of HTS destroyed inside the town.
I wonder if they had time to create a few cave paintings for future historians to see before they all went to meet their 72 virgins ?

The military news was that the ragheads committed ALL of their reserves for a massed assault on the city, against mostly unprepared SAA position. They later claimed the assault to have succeeded, but:
1- Their losses in men and materials are so high that they cannot be replaced. The gamble was to retake the city at all costs to score a propaganda victory. 2- The SAA fought hard, and apparently took relatively (for this period and phase of war) high casualties (although I could not find many pictures or documents from the ragheads abt them. Since the ragheads claim to control the city, they should have published much more about the alleged SAA losses)., but retreated on it’s own accord, and performed a fighting withdrawal, that costed much to the ragheads. 3- The SAA was fighting with no air support from Russian planes (and possibly Syrian), because of the ceasefire brokered with Turkey. It’s likely that the Syrian army units fighting there were under orders from the start to perform a fighting withdrawal, in order to avoid falling into a possible US/Israel fabricated provocation.
Conclusion: The jihadists have failed to lure the Syrian side to fight a battle under their own terms. They’ve also took extreme losses which forced them to commit ALL their reserve. The significance of this is important, the jihadists won’t be able to perform any quick reinforcement of their front, in case the SAA attacks them at diverse locations.
There are still too many terrorists at Idlib, and Turkey can help them to prepare another attack. SAA offensive must continue to get rid of all of them and Turkish.

BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:45 A.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) offensive in northwestern Hama has been halted until further notice, a source from the military told Al-Masdar News this morning. According to the source, the Syrian Arab Army has not received any orders to advance from either Kafr Naboudeh or Qal’at Al-Madiq in northwestern Hama.
The source did confirm that a large number of reinforcements had arrived in northwestern Hama recently but added that they have not received any further orders. Another source from the army said that the Syrian military is awaiting the green light from the Russian Armed Forces, who were in talks with Turkey about Idlib. Despite halting the ground offensive, the Syrian military has continued its heavy bombardment of the militant-held areas in the Idlib and Hama governorates. The Syrian military’s bombardment has been mostly carried out by their air force and artillery units.
