The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) expanded its control around the town of Tell Tamr in the northern al-Hasakah countryside on November 21, establishing several new positions.
According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), the new positions were established in the outskirt of the village of Tell Shamiran, which is located a few kilometers away from Tell Tamr. The army also reinforced other positions around the town.
“The locals are gradually returning to their villages and farms [in Tell Tamr countryside] after the deployment of Syrian Arab Army units there,” the SANA’s reporter in al-Hasakah said.
Earlier this week, the SAA established positions in the villages of al-Dishishah, al-Tauilah, Mazr’at Shuish, Umm al-Khair and Mazr’a in the western countryside of Tell Tamr.

The Turkish military and its proxies shelled on November 21 a position of the SAA northwest of Tell Tamr, killing five Syrian soldiers, according to Kurdish sources.
The SAA deployment in the region appears to be a part of an alleged agreement between Russia and the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to secure Tell Tamr. The agreement, that was supposedly approved by Ankara, also binds Kurdish forces to withdraw from the town and its countryside.
