Syrian Army Extends Deadline For Western Daraa Rebels As They Step Up Efforts To Fulfill Government Demands

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has extended the deadline given to former rebels in western Daraa to fulfill its demands until January 29.

During the meeting held in Daraa city three days ago, senior officers from the SAA threatened ex-rebel commanders in the region with a large-scale operation on the ground and in the air if they don’t fulfill a set of demands. The meeting was attended by officers from the Russian Military Police.

The army ordered the commanders to expel six infamous militants responsible for attacks on its troops in western Daraa to the northwestern region of Greater Idlib as well as to hand over heavy weapons which were spotted in the region.

The SAA’s deadline ended on January 28 morning. However, western Daraa commanders asked for an additional 24 hours to fulfill the demands.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the commanders have so far convinced three out of the six wanted militants to leave Daraa with their families.

“The Central Committee in Daraa is still trying to convince the remaining wanted fighters, who refuse the deal with the regime forces,” the monitoring group said in a report.

Meanwhile, the New Arab confirmed that western Daraa commanders have agreed to hand over what’s left of their heavy weapons to the SAA.

Syrian warplanes flew over western Daraa over the last two days in a show of power. The army also deployed large reinforcements in the region.

These measures have apparently succeeded in pressuring commanders in western Daraa into accepting the SAA’s demands. Still, the situation may escalate if the wanted militants refuse to leave to Greater Idlib.

“”” Almost Two Thirds of America’s F-35 Fleet Are Not Mission Capable: F135 Engine Causing Issues””” an article in military watch website.

“”” U.S. Military Acquires Russian Pantsir Air Defence System From Libyan Battlefield For Study“”” from the same website.

So much about their confidence in the Iron Dome, obviously Pantsir is an effective weapon regardless of Israeli and Turkish BS propaganda……maybe US with all its technological “prowess” can do some reverse engineering.

no link to this news.

Pantsir is good in driving around only.

“”” Pantsir is good in driving around only.”” Pantsir is good at shooting down anything that flies up to 10kms altitude.

Mr T

ok, if you want to believe… simple household TB2 Turkish drones kicked Russian AD systems..

or Russians are faking or Turkish have a secret super weapons….

or turks fabricate

Partly agreed..Tor is way better, superior than Pantsir.Besides with brand-new missile(mam-l with 15 km range with multi-seeker mode) Tor will also be easy target..

Jesus

Pantsir SM range is up to 40 kms. Mam-I missile range is 8kms, 14 kms using gps. Bayaktar 2 has a speed of 130 – 224 kms/hour. At speeds 130 kms or 2.1 kms per minute. Difference in max range 26 kms……so the Pantsir has over 10 minutes time to track the Bayaktar and fire before MAM-I is within its lethal range. If there is a layered defense with more powerful radars, the Pantsirs can track for much longer period of time…….maybe even take a catnap.

For speeds of 224 kms it is 3kms a minute giving Pantsir a little over 8 minutes time to track and fire its missile. It is always imperative to have the Pantsirs within EW umbrella to enhance its lethality.

Yesterday new mam-l was demonstrated with gps/ıns+laser seeker and 15 km range.Perfect for short-range aa and no wonder will give tactical superiority even against fast attack craft/boat self-defense systems.

Pave Way IV

Russia needs to equip a containerized medium drone with a couple of reprogrammed 9K333 Verba (SA-25) MANPADS to loiter over AD equipment at about 10,000m. TB-2s would be easy prey against the combination of TOR M2’s 30km radar and loitering AAMs. Armenia seemed successful with the handful of Verbas they had available. Unfortunately, the MAML seemed pretty damn successful in that war as well. Best to take out a drone early rather than hit the precision munitions it launches. I would love to see someone’s drone chased down and destroyed by a faster Verba-armed drone.

Wow to expel only six Jihadis won’t be enough. There are probably tens if not hundrets of Jihadis in Daraa. When the six rats are expelled, the others remaining in Daraa will again start attacking SAA troops and civilians. Either all rats should be expelled, or the SAA should start clearing Daraa by themselves, but first they need to block the border to Jordan, otherwise the Jihadists will just flee into Jordan until the SAA withdraws the reinforcements and then enter Syria again.

Cromwell

They should have dealt with those borders years ago, they should also have threatened Jordan because like the Turks they are part of the problem.

Exactly!

agree jihadist love just flee and war

jihadist thinks only of money and takes land and kills good leaders like Gaddafi Assad and others

Willing Conscience (The Truths

According to opposition sources the residents of Darra are refusing to accept the Governments demands to forcibly remove the 6 wanted men, and none of the other demands have been met either, so Iran’s not off to a good start. And when SF says the men are wanted for attacks against the SAA they should also add the people they’re attacking are pro Iranian elements of the SAA, either members of the 4th division or Air Force Intelligence, the wanted men are not attacking non Iranian elements of the SAA, yet. And now the Iranians have upset the Druze as well, which means their forces have started to oppose the Syrian Government and are now holding anti Assad protests as well. So the Iranians have effectively driven a wedge between Russia and the reconciled opposition forces, and is also now driving a wedge between the normally loyal Druze community and the Assad Government, I wonder who’s next on the Iranian hit list. Yesterday and today 4th division soldiers are dropping like flies in Darra, Iran is losing more personnel now than they were last week.

xTheWarrior22

Why have the Iranians upset them?

Willing Conscience (The Truths

You need to read some opposition news and read some statements the Druze release to media to find out why, if I just simply tell you it’s not as good as finding out for yourself. I’ve linked many articles explaining why there’s a growing resentment between the Druze community in As Suwayda and the Iranian forces, which is now also becoming resentment towards the Syrian Government, so either look for some of my old post to find the links to pertinent articles, or as I said do the research for yourself, because seeing what they have to say for yourself is the best way to understand what’s going on. The Druze community don’t like the Iranians for the same reason the rest of the Sunni population don’t like the Iranians, so they have something in common now, and that’s a first for the Druze and the Sunni’s, they don’t really have anything else in common normally, but they do now. If you can’t find anything yourself then just ask me again and I’ll tell you exactly why, but try to find some information yourself first, don’t be lazy. Try these opposition sights for relevant news, but be warned you may have you go back through their archives to find the right articles, and you’ll also have to put up with anti Assad propaganda too, sorry.
