The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) neutralized a group of terrorists that had attempted to infiltrate its positions in the northern Hama countryside on March 30, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
“Units of the army detected the movements of a terrorist group that sneaked from the town of al-Lataminah and its surroundings towards military positions protecting safe areas. [The units] confronted the group with suitable strikes, killing a number of terrorists and injuring others,” the SANA’s reporter in northern Hama said.
After the attack, the SAA artillery stuck several positions of radical militants in the opposition-held part of the northern Hama countryside.
No group has claimed responsibility for the infiltration attempt. However, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its allies, the Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP), Horas and Din and Jaysh al-Izza, are known for carrying out such attacks, almost on a daily basis.
Earlier this month, the Turkish military began patrolling the demilitarized zone around Idlib in order to put an end to such attacks. However, this step has failed to reinforce the Russian-Turkish agreement so far.
Good news are always welcome.
“Earlier this month, the Turkish military began patrolling the demilitarized zone around Idlib” Are they only patrolling within 200 meters of their base camp ? That seems easy enough.
These infiltrations attends will appear over and over again, and Syria wil have to foils them over and over again,, just because Russia has been stopping SAA offensive on Idlib. Priority number one for Russia is to please Turkey in this area, and maybe some other areas later on.
RE Ringo saa must clear kurdi and Yankees first if they can. then Russia stop turkey or not no difference turkey there to protect there borders for now. Unfortunately there is no Syrian Army left so who’s going to fight against Turkish Army. or you gone do it
