Syrian Army Foils Militants’ Counter-Attack In Southwest Aleppo (Photos)

Support SouthFront

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies have foiled a large counter-attack that targeted newly-liberated areas in the southwestern Aleppo countryside.

Al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), the Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP) and the Turkish-backed National Front for Liberation (NFL) launched the counter-attack late on January 29. In a few hours, the three groups claimed that they had recaptured the town of Khan Tuman and the nearby Bulgur factory.

These claims were dismissed by pro-government sources, including the Syrian state TV. The source confirmed that by the morning of January 30, that the SAA repelled the attack, maintaining control of all positions.

Now heavy clashes are being reported in the southwestern Aleppo countryside, with the SAA resuming its advance in the region.

The militants’ failed counter-attack in southwest Aleppo reflects their desperation to make any achievement on the ground. In the last few days, the militants lost dozens of positions in southwest Aleppo and southeast Idlib to the SAA.

This is very good news. The SAA 4th Armoured Division and associated units have again shown great courage in this most brutal war in the fight against the dark forces of the US Coalition of Terror.

The relentless SAA Liberation of Idlib will signal the Beginning of the End for the US terror gangs in the North.

It seems Erdogan has another priority and has moved a few thousand Idlib criminals to Libya. This can only help the SAA. Since Erdogan cannot steal anymore oil from Syria, he has moved onto Libya to try his luck there.

With luck it will involve France in a shooting war with Turkey.

The Greek people have paid a to high price already in the zionist war of ‘Alien Migration’ to Europe.

Could you give me a quick update of the last 1 week as I have been with my parents.

Any gains ?

Any losses ?

That sort of stuff. Sorry but I have been off the net.

I feel sorry for you! :) SAA is storming South East Idlib as jihadists have been transferred to Libya. West Aleppo offensive also started with some initial gains. It’s all looking pretty good.

Thanks and thanks.

The SAA has gained control of most of the key points and towns along the Damascus /Aleppo motorway and Saraqib is the next key town to liberate that stands on the junction with a major route to Turkey.

Erdogan is furious and threatening to invade Idlib ( again), whilst at the same time he has moved a few thousand Head Choppers to bring ‘democracy’ to the protect oil and gas reserves of Libya and in the waters off the coast of Cyprus and Greece.

In the Deir Ezzor zone, the US Oil Protection forces are playing silly buggers by blocking Russian Patrol routes.

The icing on the cake is the ‘crash’ of a very expensive US spy plane in Taliban controlled Afghanistan. The top CIA boss in the area who planned the murder of Soleimani is dead along with other senior US Coalition officials. “

Cheers. “Erdogan”, what a tool.

I hope you and your parents are well. While FlorianGeyer and goingbrokes are absolutely right, I thought i’d type something as a few of us have been following this for almost 10 years. The way I see it: Basically in the last week SAA and Russia adopted a no “ceasefire” policy. Erdogan chose (had no choice really) to transfer manpower to Libya and allow SAA to do as they please in their own land, as long as Turkish forces are unharmed. Ma’arat al Numan was recaptured, you would know how significant this is, as it allows SAA to move in any direction.

Aleppo front has finally been reopened and Republican Guard, 4th Armoured Division, Hizbollah are moving south/south west. Liwa al Quds are moving north, just west of Castello road, it seams they are head-to-head with Nouridin al Zinki. It appears Iranian backed groups are tasked with defense of Aleppo and Al-Hader at the moment. Though more have moved from Abu Kamal to Aleppo.

SAA is so deep into Idlib but one crucial task still remains, the mountains to the west!

Thank you, much appreciated.

As expected. Rats can still bite here and there but they’re unable to sustain any gains for longer than a couple of days. What they get is more losses in manpower. material and morale (if this word is even applicable in this case).

The most dangerous, agressive and arrogant countries in Middle East is Israel,USA,France and Britain.
